Great customer service without the hassles related to corporate rental agencies. The small business vibe is very noticeable.

I called and politely asked if I may rent a manual car. I have a friend in town and we were going to the mountains and she thought that would be more fun. I was told by the man that answered (sounded older) that he would NOT rent manual to anyone who asks for it. No, I'm not kidding. That's a thing. I asked why and he said it's because it often rented by people learning manual and they ruin his cars. I explained that I know how to drive it and I'm in my 30s (not some 20 year old). He didn't care. According to some of the other complaints I've read on here, he randomly rents them to people who DO NOT want manual. What kind of business policy is this????? How a place like this can be in business is beyond me. Like other reviewers I was given the "oh yeah you're all set" line for several days before arriving. Surprise! No cars here. So I like adventures and could get a car for 44 a day for ten days which was about Half the airport rate during this shortage so I decided to take a chance.... ,,be aware at this point the company is basically one 80 year old man..."Bill"...who wants to meet at very specific times in a hole in the wall office in a ratty Holiday inn ten miles from DEN... my plane was an hour late and he fussed at me for making him "miss a meeting"...any way, got a decent Elantra with 25000 miles, bad smell from the cheap air freshener hanging from the mirror, dirty inside with a windshield that needed lots of windex inside and out, but ran fine, even through a monsoon going over Berthoud pass. The problem was he wanted to meet me at an exact time the last day to drop off and give me a one mile ride to the train station... well guess who wasn't there?... waited half an hour, went frantically to the Holiday inn, tried to get a cab, Uber, or shuttle van, no luck...getting frantic, went back to hole in the wall office and there's Bill! Said he was there The whole time but phone not working! This is the ONLY employee.... Any way, said hurry, I've got to make a plane, he says Hold on, I got to do the paperwork!! About to freakout but then the shuttle van from the hotel showed up so I bolted..... so, if you like Adventure, saving $, and old guys give Bill a try, but leave lots of time on both ends...good luck! read more

I was skeptical of this place because they require your id and credit card over the phone if reserving before you arrive, but after reading reviews I knew it was a legit rental place. I flew from CA and must have saved at least $250 by going to them versus the airport. they have some stick shift cars so make sure you check if you dont know how to drive stick. Friendly staff, dont let the other reviews scare you, its not enterprise so dont expect them to roll out a red carpet for you. Super happy with car and all the money I saved. read more

We took a family vacation this past week to Glenwood Springs. We flew into Denver. There is a complimentary shuttle service that takes you to their location in Denver from the Airport Terminal, if needed. This means that you don't have to take a national rental car business shuttle to a crowded rental port at the airport and wait to be served. If you are in during business hours, they can take care of you at their office in the Holiday Inn- Stapleton hotel. If you are after hours, there is a simple process of signing the contract, getting the keys, dropping the original copy in the drop box and loading and going from the parking garage. They are open 7 days a week, except some holidays. The rates are extremely affordable and fair. A+++ This business if family owned and operated. I would highly recommend this rental company to anyone in need for the Denver/ Rockies area. The business is located at the Holiday Inn-Stapleton. It is only a mile off of I-70, on the way to the mountains. We had a small incident that caused some damage to the front bumper. The owner is a very understanding person that takes pride in customer service. He worked with me to get the situation handled in a friendly manner. read more

Boycott The Car Nazi! Rented with them this July. Had to drive to the Rocky Mountains. They have old, unerpowered Hyundai etc with 75000 miles on the odometer! You take a Holiday Inn Shuttle (they are next door) to get there from the airport. When you return the car you can expect to walk All around the building as the door to the parking lot will be closed. Not Good in inclement Weather. The guy who I dealt with on renting the car was Nice. The Old Dude I dealt with the next weekend was Not. I was a little late returning the car and he charged me an extra day. When I pointed out that I had to drive slow through unfamiliar mountains and that the car slowed and stalled on every curve that was tough. Also I did not fill the car all the way back up b/c the Gas station nearby on Quebec St had Fubar computers and the pumps were not working right so he ripped me off for Gas. He may have been legally within his rights but he is a cantankerous curmudgeonly p**spot who does not smile or care about his customer's wellbeing. Do NOT reward him for this behavior! I know airport taxes are outrageous and even as a well paid professional I avoid Hertz and Avis b/c of the Expense. But there are frugal options at major airports. You get what you Pay for read more

Worst place ever to rent a vehicle from he did however help me out in a time of need but it screwed me in the end I got his insurance and am now told I'm going to be sued for an accident because I purchased his insurance and refuse to pay anything else as well as he really over charged me as well over a thousand dollars for 4 days his insurance because I was leaving state with the vehicle he wanted 25cents per mile I got a flat rate he was the only one who would rent me a car to get to my father's funeral is the inly reason I rented from him I will never go back nor recommend his business to any one else read more

I had the same experience as one of the other ladies who posted on here. I got to the airport and The three major car rental agencies located at the airport were out of cars . The one Agency that had a car was EZ Rent-A-Car. They wanted $300 for two day rental. I talked to Alvin at Avis and he called Bill at airline auto rentals for me. Airline auto rentals is offsite but she was correct you can take the holiday inn shuttle for free to their location and Bill had a car there for me. The charge was $90 for two days. His prices are fair and he went out of his way to find me a car and I had no reservation. I definitely recommend airline auto rentals. read more

Didn't have the Subaru Legacy I had RESERVED (mostly for 4WD) and also was almost charged double ($490 instead of the original quoted and RESERVED price of $241) until My gf and I finally asked enough questions (to Steve, who was not helpful at all and was actually being quite the smart ass - no commission I guess? Steve was the worst) and ended up being told we would need to call this number to make a new reservation and ended up doing that to get a Nissan 4-cylinder car and then waited another 30 minutes and I asked where the car was and the "manager," this lady running around not answering our questions straight either, called to the guys in the back and we ended up getting a Dodge Ram which was a really nice truck. Aside from the truck being nice, it was terrible and over an hour long ordeal at night when it was snowing/raining and the day before Thanksgiving around 11pm. OUTSTANDING!! Had a reservation with budget. But after deciding to change my reservation by one day they jacked up the price to 684$ for 9 days renting from airport. These guys gave ne a nice 2007 suburu for 349$ (includung all fees) They off a shuttle from the airport to the hoiiday inn where their office is. The guy was super nice. (he let us leave our luggage in his office when got back so we could go eat before heading back to airport) Saved 300$ just a great deal read more

This was a great car rental that saved me nearly $200! The only drawback was the off site location, but the savings were well worth it for me. My flights were late night and early morning but they accomodated me and left the key and paperwork at the front desk of the Holiday Inn. There is a gas station just down Quebec Street so it was easy to fill up when I returned. Allow an extra hour for the shuttle. The car was a fun Hyundai Accent, stick shift. It was very clean and ran great. If you are looking to save on your car rental, I highly recommend Airline Auto Rental. read more

I rented a Kia Sportage from Airline Auto Rental last week. Having seen the previous reviews in this thread, I was initially concerned how this was going to work out. Bill & Co. delivered exactly what was promised, with no unpleasant surprises. This is a "no frills" business that has a loyal clientele, as evidenced by the line of customers upon my arrival at their office. I found AAR to be courteous, helpful & flexible. They invoiced me exactly what was promised and I will gladly use them again! Oh, and by the way, what led me to AAR was the fact that the Denver Airport rental car providers were ALL dangerously low on cars at this time, and their rates had "shot through the roof". Bill certainly knew the situtuation at Denver International, and made no attempt to capitalize on it by jacking his rates. I searched for a bargain and got one! read more

I reserved a car from Airline Auto several months in advance, and was told they'd send a confirmation when the date was nearer. Never happened, and I needed to call to remind them. When I got there, my assigned car was a manual transmission - which they'd never mentioned beforehand, and which certainly I hadn't requested. Fortunately I know how to drive a manual. While I had the car out for 5 days, the oil light went on and I needed to add oil to the engine, a first for me with a rental car. Lastly, I did not in the least appreciate the large poster on the reservations desk, disparaging President Obama. I certainly believe in freedom of speech, but forcing your customers to confront your personal politics? Bad taste, at best. read more

Seemless and inexpensive. I needed to rent a car in Denver but was rather shocked at the ridiculously high prices for car rentals at the airport. I found Airline Auto Rental and was pleasantly surprised at how much cheaper their car rental rates were. Plus, and this is a real added bonus, you can take the Holiday Inn airport shuttle from the airport and back again for free. (not only are car rentals expensive at Denver airport but so are taxis - way expensive! I think the city must add some sort of airport tax or something.) Airline Auto Rental is located in the Holiday Inn, not too far from the airport. I arrived after the rental office was closed but made pre-arrangements for the rental and key pickup with the Holiday Inn front desk. Easy Peasy! I asked for the lowest rate car and was a little worried that I would get a real clunker. But nope, got a late model Hyundai Accent that was great on gas and very clean and comfortable. I cannot recommend Airline Auto Rental enough -great deal, great service! read more

Way cheaper than what the big name rental companies were charging from DIA. However, deducting two stars because of customer service and process -- although friendly, it seems as if it's a small operation, operating out of a small ground-floor office in the Holiday Inn, and their booking process seems to be done manually. After calling them, we verbally agreed to a reservation and I was quoted an "around $X" amount, rather than an exact figure. I was promised to be emailed directions on how to get from DIA to their office. I gave them my name and email address. A week passes and no email. I call them from my departing airport to get the instructions and am told that they are very busy and can't give it to me now, but will email in a few hours by the time my plane lands in DIA. I get to DIA -- nothing. I call again -- she says she'll email me again. Nothing. I call again and ask for verbal instructions, and find out this whole time they had my email address incorrect, despite the fact that I had repeatedly told them it was first name, last name. The woman responds, audibly aggravated, "Well, we don't have your last name on file." If you're looking for a cut-rate deal, these guys are good. But don't expect top professionalism out of it as well. read more

The worst business of any kind I have ever encountered (in 45 years). I reserved a car from these clowns- I should have suspected something when they not only didn't have a website, but no email! Everything done by fax, like in the good old days. I had to fax my credit card three times because they couldn't read the number, which is the nature of credit cards since the number is the same color as the card. Anyway, I confirmed 4 days prior to my trip and again one day before that my car was reserved, since they never called or sent any confirmation. On both occasions they said I was all set. I got to the Holiday Inn where they have an "office" to pick up my car. Since we were taking our whole family on a driving vacation, we had specifically ordered a midsize 4 door vehicle. When we went out to the parking lot (no one at the office since it was 6:30 pm and after hours), our keys were to a Hyundai Accent, one of the smallest two door cars on the planet. We literally could not fit ourselves and our luggage in the car to drive around the block, let alone spend 10 days driving. I called the after-hours number and got the owner, who said it was our tough luck. He indicated that a customer hadn't returned the car we were supposed to get, and he only has a few cars. He had found out earlier that day but couldn't be bothered to call and tell us. He never indicated he was sorry, or in any way took any responsibility. His entire response was that it was our tough luck, period. We met someone else in the lobby of the hotel who said he had a similar experience. We ended up having to cancel our hotel reservations and walk with our luggage to a different hotel in a thunderstorm. I think this is the least professional, least customer oriented company I have ever dealt with. I only wish I could give them zero stars. read more

Be wary, if you inquire get ALL the facts and charges. I am local and stopped by this business to get a rental price. He told "if you take the car out of state, there is a mileage charge" . I called the next day to clarify the charge, was told by the owner the mileage charge is .22 cents per mile if you take the car out of state. ????? Upon further discussion he revealed you are "allowed" 150 miles per day. The only place you can get to in Colorado in that instance is the Wyoming border, but you can't return without racking up mileage. I explained I wanted to take friends from Germany to Mesa Verde, and it is over 330 miles... ONE WAY! His response was, don't drive the car every day your there and you will be fine.... WTH? For 20 day period, it would be easy to travel CO and accumulate many miles over your allowed mileage. IF YOU ARE TRAVELING HERE, NOTE NOTHING IS CLOSE TO TOGETHER..... YOU WILL HAVE TO DRIVE ALOT! I suspect the previous review was written by a family member or friend, after telling a friend in the airline industry about this, she told me all the local Denver crew knows of this company and always refers other crew members to different rental companies. read more
