    Don't use them, they are thiefs. We returned a car in August and October 25 they said we didn't fill the gas. They tried to charge me $9.70 for gas . Then they said I used express lanes and changed me $9.00. They will nickel and dime you to get extra money. The cars were filthy and not clean and no navigation. You come to a place and the car can't help you get there as there's no maps.

    I wish I could give 0. I rented a car from here thinking oh this place is good and cheap, but then I get slapped with extra charges. Like I was barely given time to listen to their questions and apparently agreed to the insurance which I didn't want. They sped thru all the screens pointing where to sign and making me get on my way. The car they gave me was a 2023 Sentra and just when I get in, steering wheel and cupholders felt sticky. Just overall a sketchy place don't go here! You will get charged for stuff you don't want! Plus! They tell you don't worry about cleaning the car before returning so for a tiny fraction of pet hair(I work at an animal hospital) I got charged $250.. 2 weeks later with no notice to my card! And I never even got the email till I had to call customer service and they sent it to me dated 1/31 when I returned it 27th.

    *discriminatory against mothers experiencing Post partum hair loss and will charge for "excessive pet hair" instead* If I could give a zero I would. AVOID AT ALL COST. We rented a minivan from them because we had family coming to town and didn't want to drive two cars everywhere during Christmas. It's a 7 seater minivan and we had 6 of us (1 being a newborn baby). We obviously had a full car. Well the car they tried giving me REAKED of cigarette smoke as soon as I opened the car door, dirty on the inside, and had dents and scratches all on the outside that they again tried not documenting. I refused the car as I cannot have a newborn in a cigarette smoked car or any of wanting to inhale the air The second car they gave us, again they did not want to document scratches or dents but I made them take pictures of. The inside had trash that we discarded and was not cleaned prior to us getting the car. We get a charge about 3 weeks later of $450 of excessive pet hair. We did not have pets in the car. The pictures they documented were all on the floor mats and were from dirt and grime from the bottom of our shoes. The "excessive pet hair" they documented was MY HAIR AS I AM GOING THROUGH POST PARTUM HAIR LOSS.

    After hearing from customer service (I won't mention a name) I received a satisfactory credit and I want to thank them. Since they made it right, I gave them another try, and I tried to reserve another rental on 05/11/2022. Budget sent me a discount code to use as a free upgrade. However, while trying to reserve the car for the 11th, I was unable to use the discount code on their WEB Side, and no Agent over the phone could honor the discount. Even though I took a screen shot and emailed it to them to confirm what price the Budget WEB site was giving me, but not allowing me to reserve the car. The agent informed me that was a price he could not honor or give me, smdh. I ended up picking up the vehicle on 05/11/2020 and I must say "the agent @ the counter was extremely nice", very good customer service skills and provided me w/ as much of a discount price on that free upgrade as she could. Still couldn't honor the price Budget offered, but I appreciate her trying. Then, as what seems to be the norm @ Budget now, I picked up my vehicle and the 1st thing I had to do was drive to a gas station, vacuum the rugs and wipe down the cup holders in the SUV. Not sure what is going on here, but that is 3 for 3 in dirty cars I have picked up from Budget on 3 different rentals in 3 months.

    I looked into rental car companies for my trip to DC/VA and went with Budget because the rates were good but it turned out to be a nightmare. Friday March 15th when I arrived to pick up the car I was asked if I wanted to add additional drivers. So I added my BF and my mom declined. The lady processing my reservation asked if I wanted additional insurance. I declined all additional insurance coverages and my bf and I signed the rental agreement (all charges were correct) and went to the area to pick up the car. I did a quick walk around the car before driving away and I was mortified. The car had multiples scratches and the front bumper was falling off. I told a man who was working in the rental area I was not taking this car. He told me to go to the desk and swap it out. So I proceeded to the desk and spoke to another rep and explained the issue. I believe his name was Israel. He proceeded to crack jokes about the bumper and I wasn't in the mood. I just wanted to switch the car out. He told me he could get me into a suv for the same cost. I quickly agreed and he made the swap. I took my new paperwork (making the mistake of not looking at the charges) and headed to the car. My mom, bf and I did a quick walk stout the car and were satisfied. Fast forward to today March 18th. I dropped the car off and grabbed my receipt and put it in my bag. While I was waiting to board my flight I checked the receipt in my bag and was mortified to find out I was charged an additional $123.96 of insurance (which I originally declined) for the rental!!! I immediately called customer service and explained I had one rental agreement which I signed for and the charges were correct but the car was crappy and I switched it out. The rep stated she saw everything in the system and stated I did sign up for the additional coverage. I no longer had that agreement and no way to prove that I didn't. The rep did agree to refund %50 of the charges for any inconvenience. Beware of renting a car from this location!

    Watch out for hidden fees at Budget Car Rental! I booked a car for two days. Picked it up at 8am on a Saturday and returned it at 8am the following Monday. But because I had told Budget I expected to be back from my trip at 11:30pm on Sunday, I was charged a $20 late fee. Bottom line: Just because Budget charges you for two full days doesn't mean you can actually use the car for two full days. To avoid a late fee, you have to call them by phone and extend your reservation. Customer service provided this helpful response: "Budget assesses a modest fee of $20 for each occurrence to the rental extension...because of this the late fee is valid not [sic] adjustment is due. We sincerely appreciate your business, and regret any misunderstanding or inconvenience." Okay, you sincerely appreciate my business but are willing to lose it over a "modest" fee?

The second time, there was a huge delay because they had promised too many rentals. I waited for an hour to get my car (still that one unfriendly lady at the counter); there was a super long line; and there were probably 5-6 other groups waiting for their cars. When I finally got the car, it smelled like smoke and a faint hint of marijuana. By then, I was late to my appointment and desperate so I took it. Overall, a terrible experience. Do not rent from this Hertz (or from Hertz at all). Note: somehow none of the other rental car agencies had large groups of people waiting around and desperate for a car. They did not have extra cars to rent, but managed not to overbook in such a massive way.

    We went through Costco travel, so I did not see the poor reviews until after we rented our car…read more Avis also represents budget at this location. We found out the hard way that if you're flying into Reagan airport, you don't just hop on the car rental shuttles roaming around, you actually have to catch the Avis shuttle not the car rental shuttle, otherwise you'll be whisked off to the wrong location. Once we figured that problem out, we had a pretty easy check in and received our Buick crossover and were on our way. We had it for five days for $387. We probably drove it less than 100 miles during that time since we were staying downtown DC where most things are within walking distance. Returning the vehicle took less than five minutes and we were already on the shuttle back to the airport in no time. Just be sure to return your car with a full gas tank and look through those 30 pages of terms. Apparently not everybody here has had as good a story as our experience, but things went well for us. And just as an added note, if you plan on staying at a hotel in DC, it is best not to rent a car if you're staying at a hotel because parking could cost you at least $60 a day or More, not to mention the high cost of parking garages in the area. It's best to Uber or get a taxi to your hotel and spare yourself the expense. Informative photos included.

During the rental process, Gustavon was very persistent in trying to upsell additional insurance coverage at an extra cost of $30 per day. We clearly explained multiple times that we already have full coverage through our GEICO policy, but the pressure continued. What stood out most was the tone and approach -- it felt less like a recommendation and more like pressure. When handing us the rental agreement, he also made a point to highlight the items we had declined, which felt unnecessary and added to the discomfort. At one point, it also seemed like our out-of-state driver's licenses (South Dakota) were being used as a reason to push the extra coverage more aggressively, which didn't sit right with us. We understand that offering additional coverage is part of the process, but there is a clear line between informing customers and continuing to push after a decision has been made. Unfortunately, this experience crossed that line for us. We hope management takes this feedback seriously and reinforces a more respectful, customer-focused approach moving forward.

From the start, the process was smooth. The shuttle from the airport to the rental car depot was quick and easy, and the real game changer was using the "skip-the-counter" option. I signed up through the email link--took a couple tries to go through, but once it did, it was seamless. I went straight to car pickup without wasting time in line. I won't be going back to the counter again. The moment I walked into the lot, I was greeted by Isiah, who was cheerful, professional, and exactly the kind of person you want to see after a long flight. I even told him how refreshing it was to be welcomed by someone genuinely smiling. He quickly scanned my barcode, then WALKED ME TO my vehicle options. He took the time to explain the pros and cons without rushing, and together we landed on a Hyundai Tucson--which turned out to be the perfect choice. Practically brand new with under 400 miles, clean, comfortable, and exactly what I needed. Checkout was fast and efficient, and I was on the road in minutes. This was one of the easiest and most pleasant rental experiences I've had. Isiah is a real asset to Alamo, and this level of service is why I'll continue renting from them going forward.
