ZERO STARS!!!My first time visiting this coffee shop was 4 years ago. And it was great. We went back today and had our best friends with us, excited to show them a really neat and eclectic coffee shop. That is NOT what we found. When we walked up the once cute landscaping on their patio area was unkempt and cluttered with old motorcycle parts. Walking in I immediately noticed the lack of cleanliness. There is just clutter everywhere. And it was covered in dust and grime. There are three tables in the place. Two of which were being taken up by people that weren't actually eating or drinking anything. The other table had a dusty Christmas tree sitting on it with no space to be used as a dining table. One of the workers was I guess just kind of hanging out with those people and the other worker was standing at the register. What I'm getting at is, neither worker was actively making anything for anyone that was currently taking up dining space for actual patrons. The space was so cluttered with stuff you would have thought it might be someone's storage space instead of a restaurant. The whole atmosphere of the place was just gross. I needed to use the bathroom as we were on an 8 hour road trip home. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. There was no soap in the bathroom and the sink and toilet looked like they had never been cleaned. I live by a rule I learned from watching Gordon Ramsey. If the bathroom of a dining establishment isn't kept clean the kitchen won't be either. This rule has served me pretty well I think. And this place was screaming food poisoning central. The two that worked there seemed nice enough but the pride they have for the place is completely absent. The menu they have in place looks good, but the cleanliness of the place completely ruined it for us. We decided not to eat. We still needed a stretch of the legs before getting back on the road so we were going to enjoy some fresh air outside on the patio. We couldn't even do that because it smelled like pee. And there was bird poop all over the tables. I really love to see quirky and eclectic places succeed, but this place has lost its pizzazz and needs to be closed down. How the health department hasn't done this yet is beyond me. read more

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!! I'm not a local but when I come to visit I always go out of my way to stop here before heading home! The owner is very kind and gives top tier customer service. The smoothies are made with real fruit they taste amazing! I also love the inside of the coffee shop it's unique and there's a lot to look at. Loved this vibe, the service was great, very nice and welcoming. I got the loko mocha, it's by far one of the best mocha's I've had in awhile. Best coffee on the east side of the lake ! Many other coffee houses have tried and died over here on the east side. Thankfully Buddys is thriving. We often get a breakfast sandwich too. Good prices. Stopped in here for a to-go breakfast sandwich and was pleasantly surprised by, well... everything. Not knowing what to expect I entered into what felt like a true cozy, organic, coffee shop. There's creative sitting spaces, decor etc. lots of plant life and... well, extremely friendly staff. Everyone was very welcoming. We ordered breakfast sandwiches which were made promptly and were delicious. We also ordered a regular coffee with cream and an iced mocha which definitely hit the spot with great flavor. I smiled when a few locals came in with their dog and sat down to chat with the staff... definitely regulars, and it just gave the place a real homey vibe. And seeing it was pet friendly was a plus too. Will definitely be stopping here on our way through more often. read more

Waited like 15 minutes and no one acknowledged me. The two people behind the counter were preparing other orders but one of them spent the entire 15 minutes I was there talking to one customer about what she did last weekend (went to the lake with her kids, spent 4 hours there, got a lot of sun, I literally got the whole story). She also spent five minutes complaining about another customer who was upset that she didn't acknowledge her. I wonder why. The lack of self awareness here was astounding. I get they're busy but a "hey I'll be right with you" takes two seconds. Instead I stood there 15 minutes listening to all this nonsense and noticed really how grimey everything was so I just quietly walked out. Food didn't look too appetizing anyways. We tried to find a good place during our trip around Clearlake. We glad that we found here. This is local style for good breakfast sandwich and coffee. The food we order were home made ( Baked /Toasted Cheese Croissant ) not Starbucks microwave made... The prices are so reasonable, the owner seems like moto bike and retired school bus. Very 70th style decoration. A bit smoke inside so we seat outside to enjoy beautiful morning. Nice place to stop by... Strongly recommended. read more

Yummy! Ordered the chicken pesto panini with turkey (because they were out of chicken) & a side salad to go. The panini was flavorful, delicious & hot! The side salad had lots of cucumbers & red onions (I held the tomatoes) & the Caesar dressing was just right. If I'm being extra picky, the lettuce & onion pieces were very large & a bit difficult to eat without a knife to cut them down. The staff was friendly & the place had a cool vibe.
