My daughter just finished her Freshman year at American University and it has been an excellent fit for her. The only thing I did to help her with her college prep and research was sign her up at the Learning Studios. Christy and her team helped her explore what she wanted to study, what she wanted in a college, what colleges to consider, how to write her statement of purpose, etc., etc., They even helped with her applications for financial aid/scholarships. They held her accountable for all the steps along the way and she was pretty much done with the hard stuff by the start of her Senior year. Without the Learning Studios, I know this would have involved many stressful moments between her and me. It was worth every penny. They also provided excellent math tutoring for her (e.g., precalculus, and AP calc plus more). I've since recommended The Learning Studios to other families and all have been very pleased. I highly recommend The Learning Studios.

Our son had a great experience the past 2 years at the Learning Studio. His grades and his test scores greatly improved with the tutoring and guidance that Christy and her staff, especially Dale, provided. We highly recommend the private calculus tutoring, AP Calculus class, ACT prep and college consulting. His ACT scores greatly improved after taking the ACT prep class and coaching from Christy. Christy Franz and her staff worked with our son from his junior year to prepare for the rigors of high school and the college application process. She was very insightful, patient and intuitive when getting to know my teenage son and what drives him. Christy suggested colleges to apply that might be a "fit" for him. She has a wealth of knowledge regarding what is being taught in the high schools, what colleges to apply to, preparing applications and essay reviews. As a result of the College Application Consulting, our son was admitted to many of his top choices. We highly recommend the college consulting to ease the application process for both the student and parents!

I have never been a strong writer, and while I had an idea of what I wanted to write about, I was not satisfied with the way in which I had written my essays. Agnes was able to help me convey my ideas in a more compelling manner. Furthermore, Agnes was able to provide advice on what would resonate more with the admissions officers and help me refine my ideas. I was extremely busy in the months leading up to the application deadlines, but Agnes' quick turnaround time allowed me to edit each essay enough times and until I was happy with all of them. After sending an essay back to Agnes for revision, she replied with a date by which she was able to edit my essay by, allowing me to plan ahead. In the end, I was admitted to Harvard Business School, Columbia Business School, and Kellogg School of Management. I strongly recommend Agnes to anyone who needs help with their essays.

Agnes worked with my son on everything from application strategy, timing, resume, essay edits and strategy. She spent time every week catching up with my son and was a true partner. He showed me some of the multiple edits she worked with him. She helped him narrow down his reach/ possible / safety choices (and some new ones) and worked with him on an Early Decision 2 and his regular decisions. My son is smart but has poor organizational skills and timing was never his strong suit. Agnes was great in keeping him on track and making sure he was progressing on time. He and I were happy that he got all his essays done and applications out. My son got into his first choice via ED2 so we were thrilled (unfortunately we had already spent money on regular decision applications but all is good). Would recommend Agnes for any parent looking for a partner for this child.

The other counselors I contacted were only willing to take on clients as freshmen or earlier. As well as helping him polish his essay, and fill out the college apps., her assistance was invaluable in opening new doors, and colleges he hadn't considered. Her insight led to him following his passion, and getting a degree which will further his dreams, rather than the direction he'd been planning, in which he thought he "should" go. After researching, in great detail, colleges which were possibilities, she worked with our son to make sure applications were in on time - taking us parents out of the equation. After acceptance, she worked with the admissions office, and she made several conference calls with my son and the college of his choice, making sure he received as much credit as possible for the college courses he had taken. He ended up enrolling as a second semester sophomore, which is very helpful to the bank account. Not only is Margaret worth every penny, I'm confident that we've come out ahead! Margaret is smart and kind and worked very hard for us, doing things we didn't even know to do, and our son is in a much better place because of it. Woohoo! She is as good as it gets!

During the start of senior year, I felt anxious about what schools I wanted to apply to and how I would be able to showcase my passions to these institutions. Further, I was paired with a college readiness consultant who supported me in every aspect of the process. From helping me identify my top schools to offering insight and advice on what college admission officers scout for in essays, Ivy helped me reflect on the value of my personal experiences and build the self-confidence to reach my fullest potential. By working around my schedule, they have made the college application journey extremely smooth and I never felt hesitant to ask for help when needed, especially because of the around the clock support and rapid responses I received. His organization and the information he provides about all of the schools are amazing and reduced the stress of having to research all of the small things for each school I was interested in. The way he guided me to write the essay was efficient and saved me a lot of time as I didn't have to write the same essay for another question that was similar to the last. I was able to finish my essays by August. It was a big relief and the whole process seemed very manageable with his help. His ability to provide fluidity in my writing and his knowledge of college admissions helped me especially because my writing was "impenetrable" or difficult for someone who didn't know me to understand. Besides the support he gave me with essays, he was also very easily accessible and understanding. I had his number and if there was anything that came up in the way of a meeting, I could just text him and I got a response in less than an hour. Any rescheduling of a meeting was simple and caused no trouble. Chris is a very straightforward person and gave me the support and advice I needed to write my essays. He is also pretty funny and a down-to-earth person which helped as meetings didn't come as something I didn't want to do. Chris was a great college counselor and I recommend him as his understanding of the application process and his ability to tutor and write were a great help.

I also plan on using Chris' services when I enter the work force after college. Meticulously written cover letters, resumes and thank you notes will put you above the rest. Thank you Chris. I am forever grateful.

I think I used this place a total of 4 times. The recent experience has me questioning this place,…read moreand I would definitely choose somewhere else to take my test. Most recent experience came today. I took Part A of the exam in December. During that test, there wasn't a rule for "no calculator, no scratch paper, no pencil, no other aid". Didn't have a problem, took that test and off I go. 2 weeks ago on Saturday I was scheduled for Part B. I went for Part B, and it looked like the password given wasn't correct and they could not contact my school. Fine, I'll reschedule. Today was my rescheduled experience. Part B. The proctor stated that, I could not use, "pencil, calculator, scratch paper, or other aid". There was nothing in the final exam regulation that had those clauses. I told the proctor and he wouldn't assist. I tried to show him the information and he said I would have to contact the school. Well, the school has the information on the site. Anyway, I had to take the test without aid. Whatever... But this guy working here obviously was just there for a weekend part time job. And it looks like he hated it. The sketchy part was the charge they put on my card. 5% credit card convenience fee. I did some research on this. In California this is violating the law and terms and condition of Visa/Mastercard. You can find more information here: http://www.creditcards.com/credit-card-news/merchants-add-card-surcharges.php Yes I did pay the amount. But I did not realize that in california, your only allowed to charge 4% max. 5% is over the limit for the surcharge. If your willing to pay such surcharge, go ahead and sign up for your proctor test here. And this is 2017, there really aren't that many small businesses charging processing fees, and if they did, it was something like 2.5-3%. Bay Area Testing Center used Square to process the charge. Square takes 2.75% for all swiped charges, therefore they are profiting 1.25% extra on the proctoring fee.

I have NEVER had this happen at any testing site and I've taken plenty of academic/career based exams. She asked if they charged me at other testing sites apparently she was very concerned about the cost of my one page print out proof of passing (after paying over $200 dollars per exam). I would have paid her for the printout but was just shocked at her lack of friendliness. Also they were very loud. They lock the door so they have to unlock door for each person coming in then walking back and forth talking to their back office, reorganizing stuff. Anyway I was excited to pass then really disappointed on how I was treated after the exam. Like why? Bad customer service. There are plenty of testing sites around. Don't go here. Go to San Jose State or another testing center.
