cannoli

Food - 5.5/10 Service - 5/10 As others have said the wait was quite long over 30 mins but they were pretty busy and the wifi stopped working while I was trying to pay. The vibes were good they had live music and the inside was nice although I wish there were more chairs or at least more chairs at some tables. We sat in the back as we waited and tried asking for wait times but they told us they didn't know which was our order even tho we gave a name when paying. Since we have 5 sandwiches we didn't try to ask more. The sandwiches itself were decent nothing really stuck out and for the wait time I wouldn't say it was worth. The sandwich was pretty thin not super filling but for Cape Cod I would say it's a decent sandwich. I would recommend just making your own, the total of making ur own is cheaper than the sandwiches they had and it's just easier for your own liking. We came around 12-1 pm and by that time they were out of everything bagel but there are a lot of different bagels or breads to choose. We also ordered a cannoli with chocolate chips but they only but it on half, idk if that's usually a thing but first time we had like that.

Egg and cheese on English muffin
Pat T.

We stopped here on a whim but wish I checked Yelp first so I could've known to pass on this spot. We ordered a coffee, green tea steamer, and egg on English muffin. The lady working the register was grumpy and not friendly. The drinks came out in a reasonable amount of time and tasted just ok. But the English muffin took almost 40 mins! Couldn't believe it took so long. It wasn't even busy at all. While waiting, I witnessed 3 other customers complain about the wait time. I'm not sure what was going on back there, but it was extremely inefficient. We almost left without our food since the wait was not worth the $4 we paid for the English muffin. Luckily, it came out just as we contemplated leaving. But get this - they didn't even put the right cheese that I ordered! Would not recommend coming here.

Fresh creme is being piped into my cannoli

Lunch sandwich especially the roast beef panini was on the mark with flavors (basil pesto, mozzarella, cucumber, red onion, tomato on focaccia bread) Also, you cannot walk away without dessert. My choices were cannoli, pistachios ricotta pie and a couple of cupcakes for the weekend. Well worth a visit to enjoy fresh baked deliciousness.

Great service! Highly recommend the bagel special #1, wonderful pastries! We tried the pumpkin whoopie pie, the blueberry muffin and the blueberry scone.

EPIC 10 STARS!!!!…read more I've lived here for 35 YEARS, and today was my very first visit to Good Friends Cafe. OMG!!! WHERE HAVE I BEEN?! I am the WORLD'S BIGGEST food critic, and hands down, this was one of the BEST breakfasts I have ever had! There was a line out the door, and now I completely understand why. But it wasn't just the food that blew me away. I sat at the bar and watched the staff work, and I was honestly fascinated. They navigated a packed restaurant flawlessly, engaged with everyone, helped one another, and somehow made the whole place feel relaxed and happy. One staff member told me, "We love working here. We don't have a manager--it just all works." And WOW, does it work!!! I own a business that runs pretty smoothly, so I naturally notice systems, staff interaction, customer service, and how a busy operation flows. This place was IMPECCABLE. Everything worked together like a well-oiled machine, yet it never felt mechanical. It felt warm, genuine, fun, and welcoming. The food: AMAZING. The staff: AMAZING. The atmosphere: AMAZING. The operation: AMAZING. I walked in for breakfast and walked out thinking, I WANT TO WORK HERE! One day I would LOVE to waitress here! Good Friends Cafe, you have a new regular. I may be visiting EVERY DAY! It felt like HOME. 10 STARS!!!! Lauren Johnston Harwich Port, MA & Marco Island, FL

All the road work going on MA 28 was also incentive, as we could get there without traveling on it from where we were staying. We were also told several times to get their grilled breads (if you weren't gluten-free, of course). The complimentary coffee in the waiting area was a nice tough as well. It certainly lived up to the recommendations. We had maybe a 3 minute wait for a table on a busy Friday morning. There were lots of specials on the blackboards on the side wall. Coffee came out quickly; it was piping hot and mellow, with very frequent refills. I did try the bread, an apple-cranberry, grilled/toasted medium with a pat of butter for extra yum. I opted for the hash Benedict with fruit instead of potatoes. I got potatoes by mistake anyway, but they immediately brought over the fruit. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the Hollandaise was flavorful, and the hash was crisp and not greasy at all. Now it's my turn to be a good friend and pass the recommendations forward for others.

Both were very friendly and did a great job handling everyone. Menu is printed on the placemat on the table and pretty extensive. Plenty of choices for everyone from breakfast to lunch. We chose the cinnamon french toast, chocolate chip pancakes, home fries, bacon, and a cup of chowder. Given how busy they were the food arrived pretty quickly. Chowder should have arrived first but the server forgot about it and offered to put the pancakes under the heat lamp till I finished the chowder but I decided not to do that as I figured it would ruin the pancakes. The chowder was loaded with plenty of clams and potatoes and had a good flavor to it. The chowder had a light creamy texture which was very nice compared to some of the gloopy chowders you can get. The cinnamon French toast was two large sliced of their home made cinnamon bread coated with a light sugar sauce which enhanced the flavor of the toast. There were plenty of cinnamong swirls in the bread which made it very tasty. The chocolate chip pancakes (2) had a small pile of miniature chocolate chips on top with plenty mixed into the pancakes. The pancakes were light and fluffy and very tasty. The home fries were well fried, as asked for, with plenty of onions mixed in. It was very nice that they were red skinned potatoes so the pieces were small and crispy. The bacon, 3 slices) came well done, again as asked for, and was super crispy and tasted like applewood smoked bacon. Ordered a slice of their forest berry pie to go and then forgot it! But I know it was going to be great because it looked fantastic. Didn't go back for it as we remebered it about an hour after we left and they would have been closed by then. Seating is comfortable with a combination of tables for two and four people. All in all a great experience and we'll be going back when we come to the Cape again.

The only way to truly describe it is cosy. The small windows provide that warm lighting that makes you want to read a book with a cup of coffee. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The food was good and pretty standard for diner food! Sadly they were all out of the Irish breakfast options which I was excited to try. My Ham, egg and cheese on Portuguese bread was great and very cheesy (if thats something you enjoy). My fiancé's eggs benny was good as well! My only gripe is that it's a little pricey for what it is. I guess thats normal pricing for the cape, things are just a little bit more expensive in these parts. Other than this everything was wonderful and I would definitely come back to try some Irish breakfast!

The Crab Cake Benedict was tasty and the hubs also enjoyed his Hash Omelet and side of chorizo sausage. Our server was friendly and welcoming, but don't expect the full end-to-end table service. Finished plates and glasses weren't cleared from our table, and it seemed to be the norm, as all the other tables had the same experience. Not a dealbreaker by any means, just something to be aware of. One of the biggest surprises was the gift shop! It has a fantastic selection of Cape Cod souvenirs, home décor, toys, clothing, and gifts. It was a fun place to browse while we were waiting for our table. Expect a wait on summer weekends. It was about a 20-minute wait this past Sunday but overall, we enjoyed the food and the experience and would happily return.
