Arrowhead Pine Rose Cabins - #11 Rustic Romace, A pond side studio cabin with fireplace & hot tub

    Arrowhead Pine Rose Cabins

    (398 reviews)

Arrowhead Pine Rose Cabins is a family owned establishment and has been for decades. Each of the…read morecabins here are stand-alone cabins on 6 acres of forest. They also have a really nice event / wedding venue on the property. We stayed in the Little House on the Pond cabin which shared a small man-made pond with 3 other cabins. (Side note: Arrowhead Pine Rose Cabins isn't in Lake Arrowhead proper but about a 20 minute drive east on the 189 in the small township of Twin Peaks - which is a nice mountain town but it's a bit of a drive away from Lake Arrowhead) These cabins are really cute. They are rustic yet comfortable - the sofa & chairs are comfy but I wish the sofa was deeper. There are 2 full size beds in the 2 upstairs bedrooms and the beds are super comfy! The one we slept in had a down mattress pad which really upped the comfort. There was also a nice comforter. On the downside, I am tall and I barely fit lengthwise. My feet were on the bottom rail and my head was up against the headboard. Ample parking: our cabin had its own small driveway to park in. The party lights on the deck were really nice for sitting outside on the Adirondack chairs at night. It was also really nice to build a fire in the fireplace on a crisp night. We had a lantern with a dead battery and the maintenance guy came very fast to replace it. There are lots of dishes and cookware to make snacks & meals and they have lots of things you can check out from the office like smore sticks, french presses, orange juicer, veggie steamer, charcoal BBQ, chop sticks and much, much more. On the downside: One of the big reasons we got this cabin was to have a fireplace...and they charge you $10 for a bundle of wood, which is annoying considering how much we paid to stay here (including an $80 resort fee - that doesn't include a bundle of firewood!!?) Tip: We picked up a fire bundle at Grocery Outlet for $6 that was significantly bigger than the one they had sitting by our fireplace for sale. The other big reason we got this particular cabin (Little House on the Pond) was for the big claw tub and it was very disappointing! First of all, you want a claw tub so you can relax & soak in a deep tub, and this tub is not deep enough to stay submerged. When I filled it up and got in, the water drained out the overflow drain until the water that remained in the tub left me half out of the water. You really want to soak in these things and you better do it quick here! (Note: We mentioned this when we checked out and he said they would look into getting a water level extender to put over the drain or something) Also, their hot water heater isn't big enough to last till this tub is full enough to get in. It ran cold after a while and I had to stop filling and let the hot water build back up and do that a few times to have a reasonably warm full bath. The stairs in this cabin are a neck breaker (very steep), almost like a ladder. The bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs. This could potentially be dangerous going to the bathroom in the middle of the night (or for anyone who has a challenge walking). They should at least put in some nightlights on the stairs so you can see them when it is dark. On the admin side, you have to wash all your dishes and take out your own garbage or be charged a $60 fee. I have never (even at lower priced hotels) been told to wash my own dishes and take out my garbage. I kinda get it if you have a big family with 8 or 10 people - I'm sure they've had lots of people leave it a total mess, but for 2 of us it was a bit annoying to pay what we did and have to clean up everything. I mean part of being on vacation is to have people wait on you and not have to worry about these things - especially for what I paid to stay here. Another thing, when we checked in we asked for pool towels and she got us a few but told us in the future we needed to bring our own pool towels...Then what are we paying such a high resort fee for!!? After all is said and done I am giving Arrowhead Pine Rose Cabins 4 stars. Again, this place is cute, nice and very comfortable but with all the dings mentioned above, I can't give it 5 stars.

PRC is a cluster of themed cabins on beautiful grounds. There's a man-made creek that runs through the property that I'm guessing runs even during the summer months. The tranquil sound of water fills the area, as does the sweet sound of frogs at night. The grounds are beautiful and make for a lovely evening walk or morning cup of coffee by the koi pond. I will definitely be back to sample the different cabins. Oh, absolutely top notch customer service too from the second we stepped into the main lobby to check in.

Comfortable beds Coffee in the room Cons: There was no closet in our room because they used it for the mini bar. We felt the place was way overpriced for what we got. $500 a night for basically a motel room during Christmas break. It was definitely not a $500 experience. Really thin walls. You hear everything in the room next door. Not great heating-- thermostat next to the heater meant that it never got very warm.

Wake up and smell Mt Baldy!!!…read more Location of the cabin - Qtr of a mile to start of the hike! about 2 miles from the ski lift. You can actually hear (faintly) people parking their cars on the street right next to Manker Flat (area where the campers camp). To actually get to the cabin, you'll prob do best with an all-wheel drive that has some ground clearance. The "drive way" is a much like a trail path w a very good incline and lots of roots, rocks and a dip or two along the way. Once at the cabin, there is a flat area for parking, about 3 cars fit. Cabin - Absolutely stunning! A old-time cabin that was been updated with a modern flare inside. Full bathroom with a barefoot claw tub (great for soaking)! The towel rack is a heated on so your towel will be dry in no time. The unit has a full kitchen, dishwasher, gas grill and a multi unit washer/ dryer combo inside. The living room has a full size leather sofa, round ottoman and chase, very inviting! There's a queen size bed in the unit with windows that will over look your car. Total privacy - you wont see any neighbors and they wont see you. CAUTION - What you will hear is bears or raccoons scratching on the unit in the am! (that's what I heard at 330am) The big kicker is the outside porch with views right into the mountains - BREATH TAKING! I had a very positive interactions with Patrick and Loretta! They were awesome communicators and very informative of the location and what to bring and what not to bring. Def - Do business with these folks! They will not steer you in the wrong direction.

Truly a home away from home experience!!!…read more I needed to get away from LA for a few days to clear my head, and Mt. High Beds provided the perfect place for me to unwind. I was amazed by how beautiful and tranquil Wrightwood is, and by how much this house felt like "home" while I was there. The owners know the area really well, and are a wealth of information. They are also very interesting and fun to hang out with, especially if you're going up there by yourself, like I did. All in all, my stay at Mt. High was a wonderful experience and I will certainly be back! Oh, I should also mention that my bed was VERY comfortable, the house feels warm and cozy like a cabin in the woods should, and it is very quiet up there. Also, there is a deck with a bench swing where I could sit, have tea, and meditate. Honestly, I don't know what more anyone can ask for.

I njoy my snow-board and not in the mood to drive up to Big Bear (and spend twice the money on gas, food etc) - so Wrightwood is my all time fav spot when it snows. Oh I also figured out over the years that when it rains in LA it snows in Wrightwood. It's not "scientifically accurate" but that's just what I noticed. Anyways, I just got myself a cool fast two seater so now I have an excuse to get out of LA traffic any chance I get... so I ended up in Wrightwood since Hwy 2 is right there (awesome drive, curves etc). So I decided to spend the night and drive some more the next day... well, since I stayed here before in the winter, and had a great experience, I figured I'll give them a shot and see if they accept guests in the summer time... well, i was welcomes (once again) in open arms with a friendly smile. Same warm home even without the snow outside - KOOL. I had a great local pizza for dinner and a great night of sleep, allowing me to hit the road in the AM and cruise. Now that I have the roadster for summer time, I know I'll be back for more visits both summer and winter. I also know where I can stay all year long! Very clean, organized and friendly home. Great value - can't beat that (not even close). Oh, on a side note, I arrived to Wrightwood on Friday PM (after work) and found that there is a really cool Farmers Market in town. Worth checking out as well. Oh, another side note, I noticed Highway Patrol hiding on Hwy 2 in the section between the 138 and Wrightwood, so keep it slow in that section ;-)

While not as flavorful as their Starbucks cousins, these egg bites were tender and had a fresh egg flavor. The slight tang from the cheese rounded things out perfectly and made these bites the perfect vessel for some country gravy or ketchup. Sausage Links: 4/5 Again, pretty good! Usually buffet sausage is either super greasy or dry as the Sahara, but this was the perfect middle ground. Maybe it was the hotel vibes talking, but it was great and much better than I expected. Country Gravy: 3/5 I'm pretty sure this is from the can, but it was hot and covered so it was a good texture. While it wasn't exactly good, it definitely was not bad. I enjoyed it with the rest of the food. Ambiance: Typical three-star hotel breakfast buffet. Clean and well-maintained. Service: Food was hot and the staff kept everything clean and well stocked. Parking: Large parking lot.

Would definitely recommend staying here.
