Dirty floor by elevator
Sluggo S.

Beyond abysmal. They have not turned a screw excluding customers since opening some 20 years ago. Dirty and run down. DONT BE FOOLED THAT THIS IS SOME CHIC BOTIQUE HOTEL! It's a dump. Lousy old bed. Small crappy pillows. Moldy shower. AC does not work. AC vents throughout property are dirty. Cracked floors. Old paint. Poor lighting in room. Poor ventilation. Shower water pressure a trickle. Entrance carpet filthy. Front desk looks like a nest of clutter and crap. And you get to park across the street in a disgusting filthy public parking garage. Oh and don't forget the metrolink train horn and noisy neighborhood. A total rip off run by a sleazy management group who obviously has zero interest in maintaining the property. Don't stay at this house of crap, trust me.

Meeting space, access to outdoor area

Used the 2nd floor meeting room for 3 day company Leadership/Quarterly meeting, 14-16 people. Made the room reservation about a month prior with Vanessa. We had a beverage station set up, and a small fridge stocked with various sparkling waters, cokes, diet cokes. Vanessa let me in the day prior to review and pre- setup. At the end of the day, we cleaned up our food set-up (was allowed to bring in breakfast items and offsite lunch trays) which was awesome. Ethen who worked the evening shift even offered to wash our utensils, and then restocked ice in ice chest. Ramon was there early in the morning to do coffee set up and provide any other needed items. All three of the staff we worked with were great! Have used this room a couple of times - and it's also great that we have several restaurants within a very short walk for dinner. This is a great place to have meetings. The pricing is good too.

Courtyard in evening

Recently we planned a visit with friends living in Calremont and asked them to recommend someplace really nice to stay. They immediately said - Casa 425, that it was much nicer than other hotels in the area. We took their advice and confirm they were right.! Most hotels have pools. Casa 425 has a courtyard in the center, with a live band played in the evening. There were tables to sit at, drinks and snacks from the small bar. We saw kids playing some sort of table games while the adults chatted and listened. We grabbed a couple of pizzas from the bar - freshly made and tasty. The hotel itself looks old (it's not) but it perfectly cared for. It's decorated with striking paintings by a local artist. Our room was on the second floor, on a corner, with wonderful views. It was so quiet you didn't know the band was playing unless we went outside. In the morning we opened the french windows to enjoy a breeze and views of Claremont Village. We'll go back again!

Lounge bar area, also where you can have breakfast

I have stayed at Casa 425 twice now and each time has been an enjoyable experience. The rooms are large and comfortable and I love that they come with a large tub for soaking. They provide a lot of comforting amenities like filtered water, bathrobes, soaking salts, reuseable make up removable cloth, and the free breakfast in the morning is great! Good coffee, lots of milk selection, fresh fruit that actually tastes good, breakfast loaves, and lots of grain options. I like that its a healthy selection thats still filling. The courtyard is also really comfortable to hang out in during the day or evening, with fireplaces and heaters. You can order drinks and snacks and enjoy the outdoors in a cool environment. The internet worked great and theres included covered parking in the garage across the street. The staff is also very welcoming and friendly. It was a really restful and fun weekend getaway here. So many great restaurants and activities in walking distance for a low key vacation.

Amazing eats and refreshing drinks from the bar! This quaint little place is part of a beautiful and meticulously kept hotel also. Our waitress Daniela is a 5 + star server with a 10 star smile and the bartender Brandon made the best drinks ever! We will definitely come back again for a lovely evening by the fire with some delicious small plates and crafted drinks. Check out the chef specials - Brian is an amazing and innovative chef ! There is outdoor seating with fire pylons in a beautiful dimly lit courtyard. If I had a wedding or party to plan, I'd definitely look into booking it here. Its a perfect setting and in a great location right in the heart of Claremont.

Blue corn quesadillas with consommé

This is just for their happy hour. The food is delish! I enjoyed the yucca fries so much that I ordered a second order. The blue corn quesadillas with consommé were also really, really good. Overall, my party enjoyed ourselves, and we were happy with our food and drinks. Service was good, and the patio is a perfect place to sit if the weather is nice. There was plenty of room and tables were available. Parking is easy enough to find in the structure across the street.

They were using the Sheraton Conference center side, which is attached to one of the Fairplex's "warehouse" buildings where Collector's Expo was taking place. There's a small hall walkway in, another hall area where there's seating, information about the event, outlets, seating, and super fancy and clean restrooms. The actual conference rooms were being used for TCG tournaments that were going on for the event. Liked that the restrooms were clean and looked nicer and I am sure were cleaned more regularly than the restrooms at the Fairplex. AC was blasting and super strong, great with the hotter January weekend and the amount of people at the event. Great place to rest up even though I'm not specifically there for this Collector's Expo in general.

We travel with my parents (Marriott lifetime platinum members, not exactly first-time guests), and every single time we've stayed here, we've requested connecting rooms. And not just casually mentioned it--we've called ahead, emailed, and even received confirmation from the front desk that it was "taken care of." Fast forward to check-in... surprise! No notes. No record. No connecting rooms. Again... At this point, it's less of a mistake and more of a tradition. Honestly, if you're looking for consistency, this hotel does deliver--just not in the way you'd hope. We were told this would be a "great teaching moment" for the staff. I'd love to know what curriculum they're using, because 3-for-3 suggests nobody is passing the class. Then there's breakfast. With the hotel at full occupancy, you'd think staffing the restaurant appropriately would be part of the plan. Instead, we were quoted a 40-minute wait because they didn't have enough staff to handle the crowd. Nothing says "relaxing hotel stay" like scheduling your morning around whether you'll be able to eat. Safety-wise... shoutout to my 4-year-old for having better hazard awareness than maintenance. One of the balcony chairs had a large exposed screw sticking out of it. She caught it before it caught her arm open, which is probably not the kind of guest experience the hotel is going for. And the showers? Designed, apparently, for someone no taller than 5'6" with a deep appreciation for low water pressure. If you've ever wanted to feel like you're rinsing off under a mildly enthusiastic garden hose, you're in luck. What's frustrating is that this place was good. That's why we keep coming back. But each visit feels like a noticeable step backward. At this point, I'm not sure we have it in us to roll the dice a fourth time.

During the initial call, I began providing my reservation details when the attendant interrupted me, said "hold on," and placed me on hold. After waiting, he returned to the line. I politely asked for his name before continuing, and he audibly sighed and hung up the call. I called back multiple times in an attempt to resolve the issue. Each time, I was either hung up on or told, "If there's nothing I can help you with, I'm going to hang up this call," followed immediately by the call being disconnected. At no point was I given the opportunity to fully explain or verify my reservation. After these attempts, I drove to the property. The front door was locked and there was no attendant at the desk. I contacted Hotels.com for assistance instead of continuing to call the property. They attempted to reach the hotel directly and later informed me that staff claimed I had not provided the necessary information to check in, which was inaccurate as I was never given the opportunity to do so. While waiting outside, a staff member eventually opened the door and approached me in a confrontational manner, stating, "Are you the one lying to Hotels.com about me?" I responded by attempting to clarify the situation and asked again for accountability regarding the repeated hang-ups and refusal to assist. At that point, the situation escalated and the staff member raised his voice, stating, "At this point I'm refusing service, leave the premises, I'm calling the police." I became frustrated due to the repeated dismissals and lack of assistance, but I left the property without further incident. The only reason I was able to obtain the employee's name ("Franco") was through Hotels.com acting as a mediator. Overall, the experience involved repeated hang-ups, conflicting information, and an unprofessional escalation when I was simply attempting to verify a reservation. Based on this experience, I would strongly reconsider staying at this location. Also! I was initially going to post a picture of this man, but I found so many horrible reviews of the exact same person and even photos of hm:

So after I close out my tab, and decide that its gonna be a JC for my kids college and not a UC (thanks Bartender) I grab my phone and check a few motels in the area. What I was looking for was the most bang for my buck, cheap price but not to cheap of a motel. I didn't want to wake up with lice, or have to sleep with vermin, since they weren't chipping in on the bill. I see Garey Motel and book it for the night. Slept soundly, and woke up to no lice or no little friends crawling around. Like I said most bang for your buck. The story doesn't stop here though. A few weeks later I find myself in a similar situation needing a solid, safe, clean room that doesn't cost to much. Garey Motel pops up again, and I book it. This time something's different. Right when I walk in I notice the room has been remodeled. Now I don't pretend to be anything other than a special Ed teacher... I am not a designer by any means but I do know quality when I see it. These rooms have been remodeled for the better and the smell of cleanliness is picked up outside the door even before walking in your room. Remember now I look for the most bang for the buck, And I don't pay very much for the room so I figure okay next time the prices will probably go up because they remodeled their rooms. A couple more weeks go by and well here we are Christmas break and I need somewhere nice to stay for a few days while my house is being worked on, I choose Garey motel, and let me tell you why. The price still hasn't gone up since the room remodeling... like I say most bang for the buck. The rooms are awesome, and look modern. Now I will say this, if your gonna be one of those that are gonna compare this motel to the Venetian in Vegas, just get outa here, no local motel or nothing for that matter will ever please you in life anyways so move along. Be real here, have real expectations. Garey Motel offers a great fair price, modern rooms, cleanliness, and a safe place whether it's for a night or a few days and to top it off the owners are a husband and wife couple who stop whatever they are doing to help and assist you with your needs. This review was written after staying here several times within a few months span, meaning I've had time to critique this place. And well I'll say it again, I'm not a professional "motel goer." I'm just a teacher, someone who has a normal job like you, but I do know quality when I see it. Thanks guys for the awesome room, I'll be seeing you soon.

I initially…read morebooked a room at a different hotel, but booking.com canceled my reservation a week out from the event. Luckily, Ontario Inn & Suites had a couple rooms available and I picked one up for around the same price as my dropped booking. Overall, it's a solid little spot. It's very budget-friendly, but cozy and quiet. The recently-renovated rooms proved to be a comfortable place to get our rest ahead of the large event and crash out after a long day. I was impressed by the cleanliness and charm of the motel grounds. The view from our front door included some beautiful hydrangeas and a view of the mountains. Breakfast is provided in the lobby and is about standard hotel breakfast fare: pre-packaged waffles, cereal dispensers, and a bowl of fruit. They provide coffee in the lobby as well and the staff is more than happy to make a fresh pot if the dispenser happens to be out. They also have a washing machine/dryer and two vending machines on-site with affordable snacks ranging from $1.50-2.00. The only gripe I had about the room's accommodations is that the offerings don't appear to be updated on the website. We believed that we would be getting a room with a coffeemaker and mini-fridge, but our room had a microwave instead of a coffeemaker. The microwave ended up being preferable for us, but it did throw us for a loop. Also, the pool isn't much to look at. It's a little larger than a hot tub and visibly needed to be cleaned. Ontario Inn & Suites' location turned out to perfectly suit my needs. It's located in a decent little neighborhood and is within walking distance of a grocery store and a few fast food options. Driving north on Central from the hotel leads you to reasonably-priced gas stations, another grocery store, major shopping centers, restaurants, and the 10. I was able to pick up last-minute essentials from the nearby Target and was on the 10 west in no time. I imagine that it would be a really convenient spot to stay for a couple days while visiting the LA area, too! Even though I wasn't sure what to expect going in blind and not seeing any reviews from the past year, I was pleasantly surprised. It's not luxury, but it's a really nice room for the price and it's insanely convenient. That's all I ever really want while traveling anyway. I will stay here again.

When I expressed the discrepancy the older Indian lady at the front said phone quotes are always given as "129" so they must do this often to people. And she continues to tell me "but u can't wait here until 2 pm you need to leave" as I've already called another uber and explained to her if I was never misquoted over the phone, I would've never showed up! Fast forward to the next morning it's not even 11 am and the cleaning ladies barge into my room to gather the towels and the bedding (IM STILL IN THE ROOM TRYING TO PACK UP MY BELONGINGS) I would NEVER recommend this property. It's dirty, cheap, and the staff here are inconsiderate, greedy, lazy, and RUDE above all else. If I could leave a 0 Star Rating, trust me I would.

I stayed in a total of 6 of their rooms over a 5 week period and loved the size for the price ($50 night). Most of their rooms are full kitchen suites, includes bedroom, kitchen (with full oven, stove, microwave, sink, and refrigerator), bathroom and walk-in closets, with dining area in kitchen and desk in the bedroom. The rooms were very spacious. I stayed in a non-kitchen room one night and it was the standard hotel room size, but also came with a mini fridge/microwave. A lot of residents live there permanently (you can tell by seeing decorations in windows), and the majority of the people staying/living there are lower-working class. The front parking area is small, and chances are you will be parking in back, but it is very well lit and there were never people just standing around to make anyone nervous. I never had a problem of safety, but I also went straight from my car to my room. As for cleanliness, every room I stayed in left something to be desired. Usually there were small holes in the comforters, stains on the floor, broken pieces of clock, TV remote, fridge, etc. Sometimes the floor wasn't well vacuumed and I'd have the maid come in the next day for a "re-do" which always cleaned up any remaining dirt. Oddly, every room had something different to it. As in, different desk chairs in each, different type of mattresses (one room had very soft like the kind from those commercial where you drop a bowling ball on a bed and don't spill the wine glass), different brands/styles of AC/Heating units, and slightly different layouts (some had separate walk-in closets and some had the closet connected tot he bathroom). WiFi sucks. Very slow and bad signal. They have multiple wireless networks for free to any hotel guest, but they only get a 1-3 bar signal and instantly lower once you connect. It was so bad it made it almost impossible to browse the internet or even Skype. The front desk staff were wonderful, always friendly and helpful. The area is fairly nice. Surrounded by motor home parks, thrift stores, and next to a restaurant and furniture store. Just a fe miles away from La Verne (which is very nice and has great shopping and restaurant chains). I ate at Santana's Mexican on the corner of Garey and Foothill once a week and they had great food if you are looking for a close 24 hr. place to the hotel. For the price/size, this place is great, but definitely is a 1-2 star hotel overall because of the residents and condition of rooms. But because of the friendliness, and the size of the rooms with full kitchens, I would stay there again if I work in the area again.
