Located in the strip mall next to Udipi Cafe, it was a convenient location and pretty easy to find right off of Route 161. The whole place is COVERED in sewing machines. I've never seen so many sewing machines in one location in my life. They were all organized into rows and clearly labelled so that they could easily be found when their owners came back for them. They met me at the door as soon as I walked in and already had a space cleared so that I could set down the machine. They immediately began to assess the situation by asking a couple of questions about the machine's "symptoms", testing the levers and threading mechanisms. Then they quickly unscrewed the cover and peaked inside. Turns out, a gear was broken. They pulled it out to show me and let me know that unfortunately with this make and model, the gear was no longer available to buy as a replacement. I spent no money while on this visit. Estimates and diagnosis are free. Before I left, they kindly offered to dispose of my broken machine for me and referred me to Westerville Sew-N-Save if I was interested in buying a new one. Overall, friendly, speedy and knowledgeable service. I will definitely go back if I ever have need, as well as refer my friends.

Steve asked about the machine's problem and asked to send him a photo of the sewing machine. He called back in five minutes with a price quote. Steve quickly diagnosed the problem, made the necessary repair, and offered suggestions for long-term care of our sewing machine. I called about a drier repair on Sunday night 12/11/16 spoke with Paul and set appt for Monday 12/12 at 10 AM... well, no one showed... finally I called again and was rescheduled to Tues 12/13 at 10.... around noon- a different person showed up- did a reading and said my control board was bad and would be around $300- he collected $50 cash (I was fine with that b/c he had at least diagnosed my problem...supposedly... and I could replace board if necessary). Scheduled for Friday- taking off work yet again, no show at 10AM... then said he's be there between 4-6 and has the part. He did not show up or call. Saturday I called other repair places and set up a backup appointment for Monday ... turns out a drier is handy... Out of curiosity I called again and was told "he" would be out by 3.... not holding my breath, I did other things around the house finally left with the family for the zoo at 5:15; around 5:30 I received a call saying he would be there in 30 minutes and it would take 10 minutes to repair. I told him I could not... then he swore that he would be at my house Monday the 19th at 10AM... Needless to say- no show, no call since then. Other repair people showed up and repaired what turned out to be a different problem (for less $)... so, I am glad I didn't change out the control board. Thank you for sticking with me- Don't call these guys... or chance it and do... I just wanted to share my horrible experience.

I hired GS Appliance Repair to fix my dryer, which was spinning but not producing heat…read more Before the service even began, there was a scheduling issue -- we set up an appointment time, but he couldn't make it due to being tied up with another complicated repair. I should have gone with someone else at that point, but he offered a discount to reschedule the next day, so I agreed. The service call cost $150 (paid in cash) after the discount. He was in and out in under 15 minutes and says he replaced the hi-limit thermal cutoff. The dryer produced heat briefly that day, but when I first used it a few days later, the problem returned -- spinning with no heat, exactly as before. When I contacted him about the issue, he explained that a "proper repair" would require a full internal diagnostic, airflow inspection, and cleaning -- work that was not done during the first visit. He said this type of complete repair would typically cost $250-$350, and eventually, he offered to apply a credit from the first visit and complete the work for an additional $100 (bringing my total to $250). My concern is that the initial visit addressed only an immediate symptom without diagnosing the root cause. For $150, I expected a thorough evaluation, not just a quick part replacement. A proper eval and repair should have included checking airflow, testing all thermostats and safety components, and internal cleaning from the start. I declined the additional service and requested a partial refund, which he agreed to provide. As of today, I have not received it. In hindsight, I should not have paid in cash. [Edit: After this review was posted, I received the refund.] If you hire this service, I recommend clarifying upfront exactly what diagnostic work will be included and what the total cost might be if additional repairs are needed.
