When I contacted him about the issue, he explained that a "proper repair" would require a full internal diagnostic, airflow inspection, and cleaning -- work that was not done during the first visit. He said this type of complete repair would typically cost $250-$350, and eventually, he offered to apply a credit from the first visit and complete the work for an additional $100 (bringing my total to $250). My concern is that the initial visit addressed only an immediate symptom without diagnosing the root cause. For $150, I expected a thorough evaluation, not just a quick part replacement. A proper eval and repair should have included checking airflow, testing all thermostats and safety components, and internal cleaning from the start. I declined the additional service and requested a partial refund, which he agreed to provide. As of today, I have not received it. In hindsight, I should not have paid in cash.
