After calling around to a couple of places and being told a number of times I could only get the work done at a dealer, Continental Transmission was able to quote me with a slightly lower rate for my car. Having been recommended to this shop by some friends I decided to go with them! To replace it they needed to tow my car to the dealer only to reprogram it, but overall they were able to get the job done at a lower rate than it would have been had I tried to take my car anywhere else. To that I am very grateful! It took about a week or so for them to get all of the work done. They called me when the work was finished and now my car is running the way it should be! The staff here was very friendly, they were straightforward with informing me of all of the things they had done to my car. No gender bias at all! My strategy for finding any new third party is to read the reviews and try and synthesize the truth, speak to a decision maker and assess and finally ask for some quotes for the parts and labor. I spoke to four shops and of course everyone needs to see the job before finally committing and that scope can obviously change. Sam freely and patiently gave me some quotes for both (others couldn't get past - we need to see it), the quotes and the final pricing were both very fair and competitive. Mo communicated freely during the fix and heres the kicker and why we'll trust these guys moving forward. They easily could have turned the minor job into a relatively major fix and they didn't, the problem and solution was less in every sense than what I assumed it would be including their cost - great job the both of you!

I brought it back and again after many weeks they fixed it and said it was something it was not. I had my Porsche Mechanic look at it and he confirmed that they didnt put it back together correctly. Then I was driving my car shortly after that 2nd repair and while going around a turn my rear driver side tire flew off the car. Again the car went back to my Porsche mechanic and he informed me they over torqued the lug nuts which he confirmed by showing me the lug nuts and when checking the other tires he said most of them were stripped out and eventually would have gave out and could have ended in a terrible accident. The transmission repair was over $6,000 and the damage to the wheel, caliper and lugs was $4000 plus from their incompetency. NO ONE should trust this place and ID suggest reading more reviews and you will reconsider. I should have done my due diligence before taking my car there. They are simply terrible and I should sue them.

The guy at the desk who seemed half asleep and smelled like booze asked me what I needed when I came in and I told him I needed to have an alignment. He asked why I needed an alignment, sounded very sarcastic . I replied that the steering was off and got another sarcastic question asking me why my steering was off. I was a little put off at his sarcasm and the fact that he seemed to not be willing to accept at face value that I knew my car needed to be aligned. I felt I was being very rudely treated, swore at the guy and left. As I was going to my car, the guy came out of the building yelling and swearing at me. I was told that "this is MY house" and that I wasn't allowed to swear at him and all kinds of other stuff. NOT A WAY TO TREAT A CUSTOMER. maybe he was all hungover or having a bad day, but if he hadn't been sarcastic towards me, I wouldn't have been mad and said what I did. I left Valu at 8:10 am , went to another local garage for an alignment and was out their door with an alignment completed by 8:59.

They explained that sometimes mechanics won't check certain things even though they're supposed to. I appreciate know that they are thorough and aren't going to miss something. They were flexible with us and gave some great advice for our situation.
