The guys at Northeastern say it's possibly fixable for $ 200, but since it is not a rebuild, they can't guarantee it. They explain that if that does not work, it requires a complete rebuilt transmission. I ask if that is about $2000, they say it's closer to $4000. Well they fixed it for the $200, and it's been working great for the last two years without the $4000 rebuild. I would highly recommend these guys. They were very honest and knowledgeable.

I've always taken my Fiat to Joe's Auto...so, made sure I had gotten my oil changed and anything else that needed repaired before I left NY end of May. This past July, I knew my car would need another oil change, so I timed a visit back to Hamburg to make sure that happened. Funny thing is, 3 weeks ago, I traded my Fiat in & purchased a Nissan Murano. Guess what? I drove in from Indiana this part Thursday. The main task on my list to do while in Buffalo....Go to Joe's Auto in Hamburg! They have always been efficient and more than fair pricing. More importantly, they treat you like family. I was sceptical since the car is always parked in my driveway and there has never been oil spots. I went for a second and third opinion and was informed there was no oil leak. My car, like typical older 4 cylinder vehicles has a tendency to burn through some oil and to check the levels periodically. Since then there have been no issues, there has continued to be no oil in the driveway. I was told previously by other people to avoid using this shop and now I know why!!!

I immediately reached out to the West Herr Nissan dealership at 4:30. After waiting an hour for a return call, I placed a second call. The service manager instructed me not to drive, and to have the vehicle towed to their dealership. The service manager then stated that they would not be able to look at my vehicle until Friday or Monday. My choices, a 15-hour bus ride home, a one-way car rental, or an extended stay at a hotel with no transportation until they figured it out. John at Lamarco's Auto Service, an extremely kind gentleman, put me in contact with Chuck at Transmission Exchange. Upon my arrival, my car was immediately put on a lift and the issue identified as a rotted transmission hose. During my wait, Chuck did everything in his power to make me feel welcome and comfortable. I was even invited to join the crew for lunch! Transmission Exchange diagnosed the issue, completed the repair and I was on the road within a couple of hours. After my negative experience with West Herr, I had given up on receiving any kind compassion regarding my circumstances. A big thanks to Chuck, Mom & the crew for restoring my faith in the humanity. When i first went there Chuck was very nice and friendly. called me back within a couple hours to let me know that my transmission needed to be rebuilt. He said it would take a few days. My vehicle ended up being there for 9 days before i got it back from the transmission rebuilt!!! when i got it back, immediately i knew something was wrong so took it back and spoke with Joe. Joe claims he drive it around and also had the owner Chuck drive it and both said it drives perfectly. Another week goes by and i take it back because its definately not driving perfectly as they said it was. Now this time Joe said oh yea i feel what youre talking about i think its the motor mounts but we dont fix that here we only do transmission work so youll have to take it to a general shop. Immediately i took it to another shop and within 10 minutes they found that one of the engine mounts was left loose and the bracket was damaged! This was NOT an issued before i took my car to Transmission Exchange and the fact that they refuse to help me now that they got their money is unbelievable!!! I will never go there again nor recommend anyone to trust these people with their vehicle. DONT DO IT!!! Also said bulbs needed to be replaced, which i was getting some bulb messages on my cars dash before. They said they "replaced" the bulbs, but the messages have still been popping up. Ended up looking at it and fixing myself. Seemed nice, but looks like they were actively looking for things to "fix" to charge for, whether it was necessary or not. Won't be going back.
