Last Wednesday, while preparing a return trip to New Hampshire from the Buffalo area my…read moretransmission fluid started leaking. I immediately reached out to the West Herr Nissan dealership at 4:30. After waiting an hour for a return call, I placed a second call. The service manager instructed me not to drive, and to have the vehicle towed to their dealership. The service manager then stated that they would not be able to look at my vehicle until Friday or Monday. My choices, a 15-hour bus ride home, a one-way car rental, or an extended stay at a hotel with no transportation until they figured it out. John at Lamarco's Auto Service, an extremely kind gentleman, put me in contact with Chuck at Transmission Exchange. Upon my arrival, my car was immediately put on a lift and the issue identified as a rotted transmission hose. During my wait, Chuck did everything in his power to make me feel welcome and comfortable. I was even invited to join the crew for lunch! Transmission Exchange diagnosed the issue, completed the repair and I was on the road within a couple of hours. After my negative experience with West Herr, I had given up on receiving any kind compassion regarding my circumstances. A big thanks to Chuck, Mom & the crew for restoring my faith in the humanity. When i first went there Chuck was very nice and friendly. called me back within a couple hours to let me know that my transmission needed to be rebuilt. He said it would take a few days. My vehicle ended up being there for 9 days before i got it back from the transmission rebuilt!!! when i got it back, immediately i knew something was wrong so took it back and spoke with Joe. Joe claims he drive it around and also had the owner Chuck drive it and both said it drives perfectly. Another week goes by and i take it back because its definately not driving perfectly as they said it was. Now this time Joe said oh yea i feel what youre talking about i think its the motor mounts but we dont fix that here we only do transmission work so youll have to take it to a general shop. Immediately i took it to another shop and within 10 minutes they found that one of the engine mounts was left loose and the bracket was damaged! This was NOT an issued before i took my car to Transmission Exchange and the fact that they refuse to help me now that they got their money is unbelievable!!! I will never go there again nor recommend anyone to trust these people with their vehicle. DONT DO IT!!! They have even fixed minor problems, and refused any sort of payment multiple times. My car battery tested unusually low during my inspection, I was asked to come back to double check as it was extremely cold that day. I stopped by a couple weeks later. They are too booked to do, it. Isabella tells me to bring it back Thursday morning. Bring the car back Thursday morning. Patrick clearly annoyed with the fact I was in the shop. Not sure if I wasn't put on the schedule appropriately, or just having a personal bad day. Car battery gets checked. Patrick has battery tested "it's at 56% you're good to go." I inquire if that is normal for a battery I believed to only be a year old? "Yeah new batteries can test as low as 80% in this weather, so 56-80% is acceptable." This was said in front of a full waiting room. I inquire with friends more mechanically inclined than me. I am informed yes l, weather will affect the test but, that's testing at a 2 year old charge. Patrick couldn't be bothered to look up as to when the battery was replaced for me to confirm the date. Didn't discuss how the warranty would be determined. A 24% margin of error seems pretty high for a determining factor on a warranty. Didn't tell me what determines an under performing battery, and what would qualify for replacement. Nor tell me when the warranty expires, to potentially bring it back in warmer weather to test again, before the warranty is null. Very disappointed, this is not reflective of brand and service I have become accustomed to, glad they have a second location. I will be avoiding the Transit location.

I first went to them when one of the car dealerships said that the computer on my car needed to be replaced.. NOw any other place you would go would say oh yea you need that.. 2 hours after I dropped my car off I received a call from Scruggs telling my car was ready.. Said that I only needed an inspection and a new battery... nothing wrong w/ the car.. then i took my newer car to Scruggs on transit for an oil change.. i get a call back that i needed a lot of work done.. head gasket etc.. something you would think that the dealership would've taken care of...once i received the cost i was ready to cry.. they offered me a 3rd party lender.. YAYYYY!! that was awesome.. the people there are the greatest..Henry, Patrick, Carmine (he did the work on my car), Isabella.. I was treated like one of the family.. i will be going there anytime i need to have something done on the car.. you should go too.... THEY ARE THE BEST!! SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE REST!!

They told me they purchase used tires and that the range is typically $10-$80 per tire depending on condition and demand. After I brought the tires in, they offered only $10 per tire, then raised it to just $12.50 per tire. That is $50 total for four good-condition EV winter tires that originally cost around $1,000. The offer was ridiculously low and felt like a complete waste of my time. I would not recommend bringing used tires here unless you are ready to be lowballed.
