This place is not busy at all, it's so nice. No wait for gas or for using the bathroom or checking out either. We were even able to try out their pepper turkey jerky, which isn't too bad, quite sweet though. In and out of this place with a full tank by within 20 minutes. The. Largest. Gas. Station. In. The. US. I had reveled in its magnificence without originally realizing its significance. The jerky bar was a wonder of Texas imagination. The pulled pork sandwich station was amazing and offered a broader range of sandwiches than I'd expected. The patch of shady, green lawn just south of the lot was the perfect location for an impromptu 7 person picnic. My only complaint and the single fault I can hold against Bucee's is ice cream. They sell all manner of food and drinks. They offer trail cameras and Bucee's underwear. But they don't sell a full sized tub of ice cream!! I do not understand how this can be possible. read more

This is proof that the perfect place does exist. I had heard quite a bit and watched many videos prior to visiting so my expectations were high. Buc ees met and exceeded all of my expectations! First impressions. The place is absolutely enormous. 120 gas pumps and ice machines for days. The exterior was immaculate and there was no accumulated trash in the parking lot anywhere. Upon entering the store, I was blown away by the magnitude and offerings. There is a whole section dedicated to barbecue! Not only do they sell barbecue units, but wood, charcoal and anything that you would need for a barbecue. Of course most of it is Buc ees themed, but there is nothing wrong with that at all. On one wall was enormous display of various flavored jerky. I had to pick up half a dozen of those in the middle of the store was the brisket station and bakery. They were making up sandwiches and wrapping them and people were grabbing them up as quickly as they could get them wrapped. I had one of their cheesesteaks and three meat sandwiches. Delicious! On the other side of the counter was a fresh bakery with lots of desserts. towards the back of the store, they had the usual knickknacks, and a huge assortment of Buc ees, swag and clothing. One thing that they are famous for is how clean they keep their restrooms. And attendant goes in their constantly and I'm sure that there's no paper on the floor or any other messes. The night manager Dani greeted me with "What?"! No, hi I am Dani, how can I help you... just blatant disrespect from the start. What it was about is that I asked if they would make me a sandwich without the sauce because I have a food allergy and she said that they were "under direct instructions from the owner not to change the meat sandwichs" I said even though I have a food allergy to the sauce, she's not willing to make an exception and she said if I'm can't have bbq sauce on Texas bbq that I shouldn't be eating it!! I told her that I was diabetic and needed to eat something and she waved her hand telling me that they have plenty of other things to eat. If you've been to one, you've been to all of them! Technically, not a true statement, but I believe if you go to this Buc-ee's, in a sense, that introduction can be true. This Buc-ee's in New Braunfels, TX is literally the largest convenience store in the world, but I believe a location in Tennessee will be overtaking it sometime later this year, like real soon. However, I'm not going to Tennessee just for that, but my co-workers on my temporary assignment in San Antonio did encourage me to visit this Buc-ee's. "Bucky's?" I responded. I didn't know it was pronounced that way, so when I Googled the convenience store, the first hit I got was a location in St. Louis. "You want me to go all the way to St. Louis just for a gas station convenience store?" Then, they informed me it wasn't spelled like the shortened name for a Buckminsterfullerene. This Buc-ee's is located right off the 35 freeway between San Antonio and Austin, but closer to San Antonio. If you're on a trip from one city to the other, it's the perfect rest area. When I arrived, I didn't have much trouble finding parking. Off to the side was a number of gas station pumps. I think this location has 120, but don't think that you can find an empty pump that easily with a steady flow of traffic surrounding the convenience store. When I left, I saw a handful of cars fighting for an open parking spot, and it took much more effort to find an unoccupied pump than I initially envisioned. At least you won't have to wait 30 minutes like at a Costco gas station though lol. There are a couple of Buc-ee's statues outside the store, which provide for some nice family photos ops! And when was the last time you've ever seen shopping carts at a gas station convenience store?! Even I don't remember because all the convenience stores I've gone to have really been no larger than the size of a typical 7-11 or AM/PM. This was HUGE! And just when I thought I had reached the end, there were hunting supplies tucked in the far corner of the store. Seriously, they had almost everything! They even had a handful of employees stationed at the kitchen to prepare various food items like brisket sandwiches, candied nuts, and other sweet treats! There was a plethora of other snacks on the shelves waiting to be grabbed by hungry customers. I seriously could not decide what to get until I had suddenly remembered one of my co-workers mentioning how Beaver Chips were addicting*. I had to get a bag just to try them out. Checkout was confusing at first because there were so many registers, and there were order tablets for ordering certain foods like hot dogs, sandwiches, and fries. Because the Beaver Chips were next to the sandwiches, I thought I was supposed to go to a certain register, but nope. I went to a register close to an entrance to pay for the chips. The cashier also offered me a Buc-ee's plastic bag to go with my greasy paper bag of chips. Why yes, of course! Don't tell that cashier, but I just wanted the plastic bag for keepsakes lol. After eating the chips, I took the plastic bag back to my car and went back inside to try and score a second plastic bag. I did this by choosing a pack of Buc-ee's Beef Jerky, and since it was so hot outside, I also went with a large Icee frozen drink. There were so many different flavors of jerky, but I went with the Korean BBQ. Though I didn't really need to fuel up, I chose to anyways to get the full Buc-ee's experience, at least at the New Braunfels location. At the time of my visit, regular octane was $2.91 per gallon, which would never be this cheap in California lol. Just another reason to stop at this Buc-ee's I see! lol Bathrooms were pretty clean too. They have so many urinals that even with a steady flow of customers coming in, there should still be plenty enough for everyone! I wish I could say the same about the sinks, however. You can find a ton of Buc-ee's merch for sale! There's even a truck with a bed full of stuffed beavers, one of which was mega oversized! I'm not sure if that one is actually for sale, but the smaller ones definitely are! They don't have any Buc-ee's west of Texas, so I'm glad I got to experience one during my stay in the Lone Star State! However, if they do open a location in California, I'm afraid I'll be disappointed that it won't be as big as this one lol. Go there for the gas, but stay there for the store! Or should "gas" and "store" be swapped here? However you put it, one thing we can all agree on is that this Buc-ee's is a must stop! I even remembered seeing pain relievers in the store, which is pretty unprecedented! * BTW, the Beaver Chips were pretty good, but I definitely wouldn't call them addicting enough to want a second bag. They filled the paper bag to the brim, and there was also even a cup inside to ensure the bag wouldn't topple over. I also want to mention my rating doesn't really factor in the taste of these chips as the chips are simply one small aspect of the store. read more

I visited Buc-ee's for the very first time in June, and it really was one of the most interesting and eye-opening places to see that is very Texan :D ! It reminds me very much of a Chuck E. Cheese's, but with so much more :D ! And with a beaver mascot instead of a mouse! LOL :D ! Buc-ee's is a gigantic one-stop shop that you can distinctly see from the freeway that is a colorful and vibrant rest stop complete with super clean restrooms with cool artwork in the restroom hallways, lots of food and drink stations (including coffee, sodas and ICEE's), a huge supermarket and snack selection, and any supplies and gifts you need to pick up on your way to your next destination :) ! They even have a huge gas station where you can fill up :D ! After you visit Buc-ee's, you'll never forget it :D ! It literally will make many other rest stops along your drive seem very boring or ordinary! We stopped at the Buc-ee's in New Braunsfel when we drove from San Antonio to San Marcos, then again when we drove back :) ! Oh my goodness. One of the world's largest gas stations! They don't lie haha. I was here visiting my friends from CA and was told this is quite the popular spot to be at in Texas! There are so many spots to pump gas, at least 120 gas pumps! I was reading about it and it also mentions it has eliminated huge trucks which seems like a plus for smaller cars to pump gas. But I'm still like why eliminate them when there is just so much space?! The inside of the store is huge. I didn't know what to expect at all. Thought it would be your typical gas station with essentials but it's like a whole grocery store as well as a general store with clothes and even touristy items to bring back for friends and family! They even have the cute iconic mascot everywhere and even has a person dressed as the mascot walking around too, it's pretty cute. They also make super fresh bbq sandwiches with many different styles and OMG even after 1hr sitting in the car, the sandwich was still extremely delicious and yummy! We got the breakfast one and the shredded brisket one and I have been craving for another one! Omg I've been dying to go to a Buc-ees after I saw it on Tiktok. I thought the mascot was hilarious. My dad ended up surprising me with a visit to Buc-ees during my time in Texas and it didn't disappoint. First of all, it's huge! Between the million gas pumps and the entire inside being the biggest gas station store I've ever seen, safe to say we were occupied for at least an hour. My dad and stepmom were saying such great things about the food that I had to give it a try. My first thought was, Brisket from a gas station... hmmm, not convinced. But trust me, you're going to be blown away. It was full of flavor and so much meat! I also tried the banana pudding and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since. I also tried their Key Lime Pie pudding and it was okay, nothing like the amazing banana pudding. The bathrooms were huge and clean and the cashiers were all so nice. Everything was so amazing. This was the first time I tired the Buccees chips in the new container. (Used to be the cup in paper bag.) I'm not sure if it's the container or just a bad batch but I've never had them soggy and limp before. 3/4 of the container was not the least bit crunchy. This is your standard buc-ee's that you find outside of the metro areas in Texas. I think at one time it was the largest one. I always make it a point to stop buc-ee's for a bathroom break and to top off the tank. Many of them also have Tesla super chargers for those with EV's. I really couldn't tell if this was any bigger than the other ones I've been to since they all have roughly the same layout inside. Roomy bathrooms and a great place to pick up some snacks. I have seen some videos of bloggers going to this place and they were warned that this is not an overnight stay parking lot and the reviews here seem to also corroborate with that information. There appears to be a camping site next door though. It's not like this location is in the middle of nowhere. This location is at the north end of New Braunfels so it makes more sense to come here if you're leaving North on I-35 from San Antonio. read more

Spanning the entire store, you have packaged foods and snacks, prepared beef jerky with at least a dozen flavors, bakery goods, dry goods, clothes, accessories, and the list goes on. Anything you can think of? You will probably be able to find it in Buc-ee's. You might even be lucky enough to meet Buc-ee and have a photo session with him. ROAMING WHILE IN ROME Heading home to Houston, hubby and I stopped here for some early morning grub. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming! I was happy to see that it wasn't as crowded as most Bucee's are. However, as we were leaving, I could see that things were about to start jumping off as more patrons began to pour into the store. Luckily, we were heading out of the doors by that time. As much as I love Bucee's, I despise massive crowds. They make me nervous! As for the food, we purchased two breakfast brisket and egg tacos and one brisket taco. I tried the brisket and egg taco with some of the green salsa that's provided for the tacos, and it was absolutely delicious and fulfilling. My hubby always get them so he already knew that they were delicious. However, this was my first time trying them. The first bite literally melted in my mouth. The brisket was moist, tender, and full of flavor, while the eggs were nice and soft. This should not have been a surprise to me though. They are known for their delicious brisket and their impeccable consistency. Gotta love Bucee's! Overall, the service was great! Writing a review for their hot meats sandwiches. We tasted brisket, turkey, and three meats sandwiches ($14 each), and were underwhelmed and disappointed. Brisket is super fatty and sinewy, hence, a lot of it is inedible. The real life time arrangement of those sandwiches looks impressive, and if you're hungry, you'll be tempted to bite into all that meat. But you'll be disappointed by lackluster taste. Turkey sandwich was the best one by far (funny, since we are supposed to be blown away by the Texan brisket). The size wasn't that filling, which is odd, because the sandwich looks massive.
