I. Finally. Made. It. To. Buc-ee's. It's very nice, don't get me wrong.. but I don't understand the hype. Based on everything I've heard I kind of expected this to be much bigger than it was. Granted there's a large market/grocery plus retail space but it's a blown out convenience store. It has everything you'd need during a stop off the highway - food, snacks, etc. plus you can shop and grab merch if that's your thing. It's cute to pick up some gifts for family and friends if that's your thing too. I thought the prices were comparable to other rest stops. The bathrooms were most definitely clean. If that's your reason for stopping, I recommend this place 100%. I would not go out of my way to return, but if it's on the route, why not? read more

Great location in New Braunfels area. It was right there on 35. I was here to get some essentials for my hotel room and some air to my rental van. The friendly employee pointed the location to me. It's at the north corner of the parking lot. I couldn't believe, every Buc-ee's I have been to, there is always a construction going on. I recommend being cautious when purchasing clothing here. I recently bought a shirt, removed the tag so I could wash it. Before I put it in the washing machine , I noticed it had a hole in it. I returned the next day hoping to exchange it due to the defect, but was told they could not accept it because the tag had been removed and the item was not be re-sold. I wasn't asking for a refund--just an exchange for what was clearly a defective product. I was disappointed that no exception could be made. I've always enjoyed visiting Buc-ee's when I'm in Texas and have had great experiences in the past, which made this situation even more disappointing. On 2 March I went to Buc-ee's in new Braunfels. I got gasoline moved my car and went inside. Everyone was very pleasant and friendly. I was greeted by several employees as I walked through the area. Again, everyone was friendly. I got a large meat sandwich and asked them to cut it in half for me. The Young gentlemen said we cannot do that per policy of the company. I asked to see a manager and a young gentleman came out and said he was a manager. I explained that I would like a large sandwich and have it cut in half so I could go. He said his company policy that we do not cut sandwiches in half. He said, but there are plastic knives that you can use to cut it yourself. So with that being said, the items that I had in my hand, I handed them back to the little guy that said he was the manager, and I said I will not be buying these either. So yes, it is a little thing, however, the other items that I was going to purchase would have rang out to about 50+ dollars. So they lost a sale over the fact that all I wanted was my sandwich cut in half. I think the company policy should be reviewed on this item as they lost a nice sale over a sandwich being cut in half. It's just a little thing. However, I did not come there to make my sandwich, I came there for them to make the sandwich for me. read more

This place is amazing. Over a hundred gas pumps and no truckers. The store itself must be 100 yards long or more. Bought some beef jerky and the variety of flavors is crazy. They carry just about anything you need. From clothes, ice chests, any kinda of food, fresh made bbq sandwiches. You can buy the beef jerky by the pound. I think the number of restroom stalls are about the same as the gas pumps haha. If you're in Texas and see a Buc-ee's, you need to stop and check it out. read more

I've always enjoyed stopping at Buc-ee's and have generally had great experiences over the years. My wife even collects Buc-ee's T-shirt for every season, and during our most recent visit to the New Braunfels location (Store #22) we bought quite a few items--T-shirts, tote bags, and several gifts. Unfortunately, one small issue turned into a very disappointing experience. Among the items we purchased was a child's tote bag that had a small tear (about one inch) near the outside pocket. We didn't notice the tear at the time of purchase--it was simply an oversight while buying several items. The bag was otherwise brand new and unused. My wife had removed the Buc-ee's tag, which was attached with a nylon string, but the bag itself had never been used. When we returned to the store hoping to exchange the defective bag, we were surprised by how the situation was handled. We weren't asking for a refund--only an exchange for the same $5 item. Instead, the manager closely scrutinized the bag and immediately refused the exchange because the tag had been removed. There was no willingness to consider that the tear may have been there when purchased, nor that it was clearly still in new condition. What surprised us even more was the attitude we encountered. The response felt dismissive and flippant, and when we expressed our disappointment, we were essentially told to "write a review." We still enjoy Buc-ee's and will continue to stop when we're traveling, but this experience has made us think twice about purchasing merchandise in the future. For a loyal customer who regularly buys Buc-ee's apparel and gifts, it was disappointing to see such inflexibility over a clearly defective $5 tote bag. I hope Buc-ee's management will consider adopting a more customer-friendly approach when situations like this arise. read more

I found Buc-ee in Texas. This buc-ee is big enough but not bigger than St Augustine Florida buc-ee. These store carry their signature brisket sandwiches. But I like their breakfast taco with brisket. Yum! Great for breakfast while still hungry at 9 am. This store has good space with many type of goods. Especially the Texan goods. This is good place for affordable gas, restroom and more. I visited Buc-ee's while I was in Texas. All I can say is it's phenomenal. It's not just a gas station. It's an experience. The food is great and there's a lot of variety in the food. They boast that their restrooms are spotless. Well, they actually are. Buc-ee's has both food and snacks but it also has home goods T-shirts, beach towels, tons of stuff that you would not expect to get necessarily at a gas station. Beware... they have a horrible retune policy, or lack there of. They ONLY allow exchanges not even store credit, you have to exchange on the spot with stuff you don't want immediately or eat the loss. Normally I would be cool with that, but it was clothes and they don't provide dressing rooms and nowhere (not even the receipt)does it say exchanges only! For a company that prides itself on costumer service, this feels borderline predatory! Then when I tried to contact corporate with the number on the receipt, it's not even for customers! You have to go to the website and select a pre written reason for contacting them, and if you pick return policy, there and only there does it say they only do exchanges... and if you select that option it won't let you message them. Walmart has a better return policy and customer service in those regards and that's really sad. I've been a faithful Buc-ee's costumer for years but I will not buy anything from them again, this is a unethical business practice, it's that simple. My favorite place to visit on any road trip. This place is the go to pit stop, they always have the best and cleanest bathrooms. They always have tons of gas pumps so very rarely do you have to wait to fill up. They have tons of drinks and snacks options and so much swag you could buy. The fountain sodas alone so many options. The fresh made food is solid, brisket, fudge, pecans nuts, jerky, so many delicious things. I'm a fan of the chopped brisket sando, garlic beef jerky, and the candied pecans. I love Texas, and I love Buc-ee's! I came here every day during my 6-day trip to New Braunfels! The deli, hot foods, snacks, roasted nuts, banana pudding, ice cream, coffee station, and slushies are all amazing! The best items were the sliced brisket sandwich and the banana pudding fudge. I also bought a cute little red kids' chair for $15, coasters, pajamas, a cooler, and all the random home goods a woman would love. I really love this location. It's always fully stocked. I've been here at 2 AM, 12 PM, 3 PM, and at more odd hours, and it's mostly packed during the day. I appreciate the friendly food workers and the cashiers! Ah, Buc-ee's. The holy grail of road trip stops... except when it's not. Went in for the one thing I'll actually eat here --the egg, bacon, and cheese biscuit. Simple enough, right? WRONG. I get to the car, and the biscuit is raw in the middle. Like, did they just forget to cook it? Cool, cool. So I trudge back inside, find the same guy I bought it from literally three minutes ago, and explain the situation. He scrolls through the around register receipts for my receipt and says he needs to call the manager. Sure, why not? After waiting for what feels like five years, I see the manager slow as molasses making her way over with a facial expression that looks like she is NOT happy to be here. And let me tell you, this lady is thrilled to deal with customers at 8:30 in the morning (which, apparently, is not her vibe since her name tag said she was a night manager). She gets to me and, with all the enthusiasm of a DMV worker, says, "What?" Umm... excuse me? I'm pretty sure your guy here just radioed you about this, but ok. So, I politely show her and tell her about the raw biscuit, and she rolls her eyes. Yes, you read that right--ROLLED HER EYES. What a delightful human being. She sighs like I'm asking for her firstborn and says, "Ok," before pointing me to the scan for the register. Now, here's where it gets even more fun. I go to tap pay for my refund, since, ya know, that's how I paid. Nope. "You'll need the physical card," she says. EXCUSE ME? I used tap pay. No physical card in sight. She shrugs, offers no solutions, and I'm left standing there like, "Really?" At this point, I hit my jerkface limit. I tell her to have the day she deserves and walk out, throwing my biscuit in the trash and with no refund. Honestly, it wasn't about the $5. It was about how EASY it would have been to fix this. A simple "I'm so sorry that happened!" or maybe offering another biscuit? But no. Instead, I got a whole attitude and a lesson in how not to treat customers. So yeah, Buc-ee's--get it together. Your biscuits shouldn't come with a side of raw dough and raw rudeness. Get that night manager some training on how to deal with customers or get her off her managerial duties. read more

This is a must-stop if visiting SA. At first, my boys were all, you want to go to a gas station?! No.. I wanted to go to the Buc-ee's store for everything I didn't know I needed. Lol They have an extensive range of items here. Most are reasonably priced. Dude.. this store is enormous for a convenience store. That hot foods section, though... omg. if you need a snack or somewhere to stretch your legs and get a mental break from driving for a long time, this is your place. They make the sandwiches in front of you. The pulled pork and brisket sandwiches are good. But the Texas cheesesteak burrito was amazing. I highly recommend that one and I'm lactose intolerant (and apparently a glutton for punishment lol). The chicken burrito is good, and it's hefty. That bad boy had some weight to it. When I picked it up, I was like. Woah.. Easily at least a pound. Each of these was a little over $8. I think that's a reasonable price for the amount of meat you get. The "world famous" bathrooms are nice and clean. You have a private stall to do your thing. Each stall has floor-to-ceiling walls between you and the stall next to you. There is a bathroom attendant that remains in the bathroom regularly going into each stall, making sure they stay clean. They have a wide variety of Buc-ees products. I got myself a nice lunchbox. It is a high quality insulated lunchbox. I can easily fit a six-pack in there and still have some room. See pic. The Beaver Nuggets. I had no idea what it tasted like before buying many of them. There are many flavors. The white cheddar is very similar to the Pirate Booty white cheddar. The original is my fave. My youngest said it tastes like Corn Pops cereal. I would say I mostly agree with him. I would add that there is a hint of what tastes like pancake syrup, and the crunch is more on the Beaver Nuggets as the corn puff is completely glazed. The Buc-ee's experience has finally become a reality. A gas stop that has gained so much hype that I had to try. With its popularity, you can expect plenty of traffic. However, the turnaround is quick that you would be on your way out before you know it. That's if you can resist a shopping craze! Food everywhere, but what got my attention was their brisket by the pound. I must say it was so damn good. We also picked up a side of salad to go with it. I highly recommend. Also loaded up on a supply of drinking water for our travel trailer. It was convenient. They have plenty of merchandise and we managed to grab one t-shirt as a fun souvenir. I don't know how the workers do it, but I credit them for their friendly service under a chaotic environment. It can get very loud in there. They also have plenty of gas lanes.
