I love Buc-ee's. If you're lucky you might run into him for a meet and greet with photos. It's a well run franchise gas station superstore with a wide variety of foods & goods, similar to a Walmart combined with a grab & go restaurant. I will never shop at the Bastrop Buc-ee's again..... EVERY time I have gone to this location I get followed around rather I'm alone or with a group. Smh The 1st time it happened, I just blew it off because I was in my Buc-ee onesie. (Still not a reason to follow me though) Whenever I go I use the restroom first, and then head straight to the T-Shirt section and then an employee automatically appears and acts like they are working so I get what I'm looking for and Ileave the t-shirt area and go to another area to grab items and the same thing happens. I cannot make this up and I hate that this is even something that I have experienced at such an awesome store (Buc-ee's)and have to share. What an experience! Since moving to Texas, this has been on my list and every time we drive past, we're in a rush. Last weekend, we decided to finally stop in. The sheer size and concept are worth visiting for and then there is 20+ varieties of fudge, cinnamon-roasted nuts, and many kolaches and sandwiches to choose from - all are prepared so fresh and taste yummy. We stopped at Buc-ee's in Bastrop to fuel up and use the facilities as we continued on our road trip through the Hill Country. Buc-ee's is always reliable when it comes to clean bathrooms and assorted snacks/drinks for a long car ride. There are also plenty of knick knacks to browse as you stretch your legs for a couple of minutes after sitting for a while. The bathrooms are always very clean and even though there may be a short line at times, it moves fairly quickly. We will definitely be back to this location if we are back to the Bastrop area. read more

I visited Texas and I was told about this store. It's almost like the Wawa's in PA but on steroids (LOL). This place has almost everything you can think of. If you like to snack a lot this is definitely the place to pick up a lot of snacks. They have different flavored pecans. They also have them freshly roasted. They ha e an assortment of chips, candy, drinks and snacks. They have a station that makes the hot food and several different brownie flavors. You can fuel up your car and your stomach at the same time. I was very intrigued by this place and would love to come back any time I come visit Texas. read more

Not the biggest buc-ees I've been too but all of the elements of what made this chain what it is are here. Kolache counter, bbq station, fountain drink heaven, merchandise, snacks galore, branded eats, jerky, a huge fudge counter, etc etc... The gas is also about as cheap as you'll find anywhere right now. There are lots of pumps and they are fast. No standing and waiting while it trickles out here... even with 10 other cars pumping at the same time. Bathrooms are huge and exceptionally clean. Service at check out was unusually slower... only two cashiers and lines were backed up. This never happens from my experience, but this time it took a bit and the cashiers seemed put out. Maybe just a bad day... Overall a great location! read more

So tired of seeing and hearing the dismal and depressing chant of 'fresh brisket on the board' or 'welcome to bucees'. It was ok when bucees was a new experience but now seeing those sad employees having to force out their feelings of boredom with working there really makes me not want to support the company any more. No reason a company should humiliate their employees like that. I should say I travel for work and stop at bucees every day for gas, but I no longer enter the store to purchase anything else. I also only buy gas there because of the 5% discount from my TEDCU credit card. Even the bathrooms are not as clean as they used to be...but Ill leave that for a different review. read more

Who doesn't love Buc-ee's especially if you're from Texas! They are known to have the largest gas stations in the world and cleaneast restrooms. Love the variety of snacks they offer, but you also can't go wrong with getting their branded stuff too (Beaver Nuggets, Kolaches, Breakfast Tacos, Beff Jerky, and etc). read more

On January 20th, I received notification that my brother had died. Needless to say , I was a bit emotional. I left my home in Hephzibah, GA only to realize I had forgotten my wallet after I finally stopped to get gas in Auburn, AL. I tried to set up my electronic wallet, but I couldn't get it to work at the pump. I went inside to ask for help. I explained my situation to the clerk. Although she couldn't help, she asked the night manager for assistance. He came around and tried to help as well. After several tries, miraculously, it worked. She asked if I wanted a receipt and I said yes, but when I looked at the receipt it did not have the last four of my card number. Those folks helped me when I was in need and I just wanted to let the powers that be know that they have hired some quality people and to say Thank You to them once again for their help & act of kindness. read more

I use to LOVE Buc-ees, my family would stop at every one we passed. And we are big time road trippers so that's a lot. Spending lots of money each time. My daughter was so excited to get a Buc-ees swim suit for our trip to the river this year. I bought her one but it did not fit. Tried to return it and they pointed to a tiny sign behind the register that said no returns on swim suits. No matter how much I explained the situation to the manager they kept refusing. Buc-ee's is an institution, and this one is a must stop on the route between Houston and Austin. The parking lot is every man for himself, people coming from all directions to try and get a spot to visit this more-than convenient store. Inside, you will find all your road-trip snacking dreams and more: decor, greeting cards, coolers, camping gear, apparel....the list goes on and on. Nice bathrooms here, per usual with Buc-ees. Buc-ee's is an experience that everyone should have as often as possible. I grew up in the Seattle area and lived there for my entire life until moving to NV four years ago. The first several times I visited TX, I had a snotty, Northwest attitude and kind of looked down on the whole state. As the locals would say, "well, bless my heart". After Seattle turned into Detroit-West, I fled to NV where I adjusted my sensibilities and I now absolutely love TX and the people who live there. Everyone is so warm and friendly and there are places like this were I can go and feel like I'm back in the America I grew up in. There are so many snack options, I thought my head was going to explode. I got way over-excited and dropped nearly $200 on snacks and swag and I can't wait to come back and bring my family. The fudge was awesome and I got several pieces in a sample pack. I snacked on that for a good week. I spent way too much on jerky and then forgot to put it in my bag when I left. I guess my sister and brother-in-law got to enjoy it. My office is now covered in Buc-ee's swag to remind me of the experience and I have multiple T-shirts. I also brought home a set of the pajamas for my wife to get this into her subconscious. In Bastrop for work. Up super early. Headed to Buc-cee's to grab a breakfast sandwich or taco. They had just come out. They were being wrapped and put into a warmer. I asked if I could grab a breakfast taco as they were freshly made and no breakfast was out. It was 3:30am. They said no. I asked why. They said policy. We don't serve them until later. I asked why, if they were fresh and ready and I was there now and ready to buy one--and wasn't asking for anything specially made but willing to take whatever they had ready--and they replied because iits policy. I spoke to a manager. He said sorry. It's company policy. I pressed just a bit further and said pointed out politely that they have a customer here now, not asking for anything special--only wanting a breakfast taco that is ready, fresh and sitting in a warmer--and the company was willing to let them leave without spending any money to go across the street to the quick stop to get a taco and spend money there instead rather than sell them what was hot fresh ready to go and sitting in a warmer for the next 20 min rather than accommodate the tired and hungry traveler. He shrugged and said he saw my point but would not budge. He told me to leave a suggestion on their website. Absolutely incredible. I have visited Buc-cee's for years and years. But if this is their idea of the correct way to treat a customer who was not asking them to do anything other than to allow for the purchase of something they had already made and had ready to sell--then they have lost something service wise--and have lost a customer for life because of it. They clearly now prioritize profits over service or policy over the ability to make a common sense decision that would not have put them out at all and made a hungry customer happy. I don't get it. Makes zero sense. But I respected it. They didn't even have anything cold I could put in a microwave that was for breakfast. I left without spending a dime and was very satisfied by the quick stop across the street. I doubt I will ever even buy gas or use a restroom at any Buc-cee's anywhere again because of this. Why should I choose to spend my hard earned money with a company that chooses to have hit and fresh breakfast tacos ready and wrapped but won't sell them to a tired and hungry traveler because it's 30 min to early to fit their policy. My friend Anna who drives from Houston to Austin a lot recommended that we stop at a Buc-ee's as a pit stop / roadtrip stop. I would describe this place as a luxe gas station. Imagine a normal gas station with a tiny little shop and bathroom and now multiply that by 5 or 6. You can get food, snacks, drinks, alcohol, random home goods like a grill, ice, pickled eggs or carrots, truly almost anything! There's cheap gas, food, clean bathrooms, a large wall of different sodas, and more. I bought Buc-ee's branded salsa and beef jerky and both were DELICIOUS. I wish I had gotten more beef jerky, because I finished it before my time in Texas ended and my friends barely got to try any.. haha oops. We also just ended up having lunch from Buc-ee's too. Got 1lb of brisket and two sandwiches (chopped brisket and sausage). They also had other delicious eats like fudge, kolaches, burritos, and other packaged goods. read more

This Buc-ee's does not allow customers to order a specific breakfast item until after 8:45 or 9 am. The place was completely empty inside at 8 am this morning and I was disappointed that I could not get a veggie breakfast taco without beans. I ended up grabbing one of the 25 bacon, egg & cheese tacos from the heat lamp area & it was awful. The portion was so sad--definitely not even one full egg inside the tortilla. I could roll the tortilla twice around the egg and bacon. Very cheap portion for a $4 taco. read more

I hold my dog the whole time we are inside (he's a puppy so he weighs 3 pounds) because I can't leave him alone in the car. Tons of workers pass me and say that he is so cute. I get to the check out counter and the manager tells me that I needed to have left my dog in the hot car when the heat index was 106. Ummmm absolutely not. DOG OWNERS BEWARE: they might have signs that say they are dog friendly and have potty areas but they would rather you leave your dog in the boiling hot car while you shop. read more

Ok, if u follow me then you know I drive Motorcoach's for a living, all over the world.Prior to a few days ago, I loved me some Bucee's.Once, I brought a customize sandwich from Bucee's as a Professional Motorcoach Operator, I do not eat while driving so I usually wait to where we're going to eat. I got to my destination and my customized sandwich had mayonnaise on it, eww. Well I saved my receipt to bring it to the attention of management which was on our way back same location. When I spoke to a manager, her expression and response was "Oh well, so sad" Strike 1. Bucee's does not Comp bus drivers $.79 drink, strike 2. When I inquired about this, I was told their drinks was already cheap so NO they do not complementary bus drivers drinks although we bring bus loads. A few days ago, I purchased a cross from their Madisonville location. Now again, if u follow me I've started to collect crosses, instead of magnets since I already owned every state except Canada and Florida :) I had purchased the wooden cross you see in my picture @ the Madisonville location, it had GRACE across it. When I brought it, the clerk simply put it in a plastic Bucee's bag instead of wrapping it in newspaper like they usually do. I didn't think nothing of it until I got home and noticed that some of letters broke in transit, I was really disappointed. No problem I thought, I'll just stop at a Bucee's and exchange it. My next trip out 3 days later, I passed by the 290 Waller/ Prairie View A.M. College location. I spoke to Sinoris, the manager on duty that morning, I explained to her I'm a Charter Bus Driver and that I'm a fan of Bucee's and that I frequently bring my charted guests to Buckees. I further explained, I collect crosses from all over the world and now I'm on the mission to buy all the different ones they carry. I presented the damaged cross and explained how it was damaged by the time I got home. Ms. Sinoris, with her stank attitude stated that it is store policy not to accept ANY damaged items that the store could not resale. Flabbergasted, I tried to explain to Ms Manager, how much money I spend at the Bucee's chain and attempted to show her my pictures so she could see I'm not trying to get over and how proud I was of my collection. Ms. Thang, tells me I can go on Bucee's dot com and complain. Absolutely, I got in my bus went on Bucee's dot com and all that's was there is a website with no number to contact a live person. Ms. Sinoris, knew this, that's why her attitude was so "Matter of factly", strike 3! See luckily, I said my prayers and read my Bible before I left home that morning. God reminded me that if I don't respond in the flesh and overcome evil with good HE would give me double for my troubles. Now, that message was clear to a Christian like myself, so I'll whip Bucee's with my platform! See, check this out. I'm the Captain of my ship (motorcoach), so I have great influence on where my passengers/bus stop at and where they spend their $$$.So, since I ALWAYS NEED to use the restroom, I can stop anywhere I can pull that motorcoach into. 9 times out of 10 my passengers will choose to make 1 stop, the stop I choose. When and where I choose to stop, they may or may not want to stop at Bucee's still. The Pilot, Loves, Whataburger, McDonalds, Chick fil A's, just to name a few luvs when we bring buses, they will comp our meals and or drinks, they too have clean restrooms and Fan Fav's as well. Ok, now let's hope, I've said my prayers that day, read my Bible AND in a good mood and choose to receive double for my troubles AND not go into Bucee's AND order $25 worth of customized food from each kiosk that's available AND not pick them up! And do this ALL year long!Now that would be childish and hilarious! I WILL NOT allow Bucee's to further disrespect my $$$ and the $$$ I bring to their stores. It's by God's Grace that I'm here today! I'm a VIP driver for my employer, so I have custody and control over the fuel card that's assigned to me, I buy $200-$500 in diesel fuel at a time which I will no longer do at Bucee's!The Spirit spoke to me after I left there and you know what he reminded me of? How Jesus died on the cross for broken and wounded people AND that the base, the foundation is still strong/there! So yes, how foolish of me to want to exchange or replace that cross, God doesn't exchange us, he will take us with our brokenness and make us stronger. What can I say about Buc-ee's that hasn't been said? Nothing! Buc-ee's is just that great! Here's a quick run down on some of the awesomeness that I have experienced: The restrooms are the cleanest public restrooms in America. Nobody else can say that. The gift shop is so cute! There's something for everyone. I've purchased some souvenirs for family members who don't live in Texas and they loved them. The food is fresh and delicious. I love their link sandwich and sausage on a stick. Another favorite is the beef jerky. With such a wide variety, you can choose whatever your taste buds are calling for. There's coffee, sodas, juices, chips, popcorn, cookies, fruit, a variety of cheese, and a slew of other items for you to snack on while you're on the road. My personal favorite is the Dr. Pepper Slushy. I get one every time I stop. It's a must have! The last thing I want to say is when you stop for gas, you know you're getting the cheapest price. Their gas is always lower than the competition. It helps to mention that Buc-ee's pay their employees a starting pay of about $15 with benefits. Their employees are always smiling and happy to help the customers. This tells me that they are being treated well. I like that. I know I'll be back on my next visit to Austin. As a native Texan, I will always recommend a Buccees! Any time I'm on a trip or just need gas, I go. They'll usually have slightly cheaper gas and due to the large amount of pump, except for the occasional summer weekend, it's quick and convenient to get gas here! The pump areas are clean and the trashcans are always attended to. Inside is basically a wonderland. The bathrooms are always clean, have paper towels and soap, and you can always find an open stall if you look. The food is delicious, I would recommend the chopped pork sandwich and fruit kolaches! They also have dip and dots, tacos, fudge, and a bunch more! Their snack area is huge and you can find just about everything. The Buccees brand snacks are delicious, their taffy is perfectly salty, and I love their gummy bears! The soda station is huge and you can find basically every flavor and soda there is. There are also general items that are very useful when you're on a camping trip or the such. I believe they have charcoal, car stuff like oil, and a few other things. The people are also usually very nice. Over the probably thousands of times I've been, I've only had like 2 experiences that weren't perfect. If you're visiting Texas or live here, I would always recommend at least trying Buccees once! It's an experience and it's always fun. read more

This Buc-ee's location was on the way to Austin. A great rest stop. The store was humongous inside. The restroom was fancier than I imagine. No need to wait in line whatsoever. It was also very clean and one of the biggest restrooms I have ever seen. Anything essentials you need or anything you want to eat, this Buc-ee has it all. Abundant of snacks and savory food to appease to your appetite. In addition, they have a giant stuffed Buc-ee on display and all kind of sizes of Buc-ees. I went with a extra large Breakfast burrito and the wife with a BEC Croissant. Both were good and hit the spot. They have most everything pre-made, but you can order fresh made as well.
