A lady yelled aggressively at people coming through the front door (there is a difference between friendly and loud, and aggressive and maliciously compliant. She hates her job). Bathrooms were nice. Fudge chick was deliberately ignoring the huge line at the fudge counter. After 16 minutes (waiting in my car to charge) I kindly called to her and made sure to smile and she was not having it. She left the zone, complained at the sand which counter, came back and left. Older guy came up and was a complete angel! Love him. He is the type of hype I'm used to hearing about. Tried the fudge. It's so dry!!! It's some of the worst fudge and it's because it is dried out. I think the flavor could be good but the crumbly mess is just inexcusable for the hype. Check out the lady was bare minimum until I asked for a bag. Then she rolled her eyes and made a snarky comment. Like lady, I have sandwiches and waters and bbq sauce, I need a bag. I didn't say it outloud but really?? That guy was amazing and she was a trash can. Honestly do not get the hype. What can I say, it's Buc-ee's! I'll give credit where it is due, and that is for making gas stations cool. Or in this case, travel centers. I've been to two Buc-ee's locations already, and this was the very first one when I visited last year. It is everything that I thought it would be. Gas, country store, all the non-stop food and drink offerings, clean bathrooms, I could go on. Everyone loves the beaver nuggets, but I could get the same thing at Rural King...just under a different name. No pizza. But I understand they are trying to keep things Texas-style, and that's fine. However, I say if you get anxious in crowded and congested places like myself, just avoid it or have someone go in and shop for you. This is my second time there at this location and I felt very overwhelmed by the crowd both times. Every turn I made I was running into another shopper. This is a very busy location, but the staff doesn't excellent job, keeping products stocked and customers moving through the lines. We stopped twice on our trip, once on the way down and once on the way back. The first visit was extremely busy. It was difficult to shop because of the number of people. This place is a bit nuts! It was crazy busy. 30 gas pumps out front. We found a parking spot, the lot is big. Inside they have a bit of everything. They also serve food and it looked pretty dang good. We were in there 45 minutes and I managed to spend $82, it wasn't hard at all. I've never had a bad experience at Bucee's and to be honest, when I hear people complain about it, it's for silly reasons. We are in the area a few times a year and we always stop. Never for gas and I suggest you don't go to that area as thats the most crowded part of the lot. Park by the tesla chargers and you'll be fine getting out. The store has everything and is always changing it for seasons. The food had a few changes this trip (chicken, homemade chips) but you can always count on a good snack from here. Prices aren't bad. We picked up some beef jerky, fudge, candies cashews, some key chains, a brisket and cheese burrito, Taffy, gum, some other things and of course, gas. The washroom is pretty cool. Large! This was my first time at a Buc-ee's, and this place is amazing. It's basically a Walmart, not quite as big, but has EVERYTHING. Got a few Buc-ee's branded items, and some drinks from the cooler. But could have gotten a lot more, but didn't want to go overboard, lol. I was staying in St. Louis and my friend mentioned there is a Buc-ee's in Springfield which was the area I was headed to, to pick up my new puppy. This is my first time going to a Buc-ee's and I heard nothing, but great things about it and the one thing everyone had told me if I will spend a lot of money here and, boy, they were not lying lol. I arrive and I park at a gas pump since, I needed gas and the gas is super cheap reg $2.11 a gal I walk into the store and it's huge and extremely full of people. My time was limited as my puppy needed to eat and I had a 3 hr drive back to St. Louis. I grab a cart and start hitting the plushie section, then the other merch section and got a huge umbrella. I then hustle to the snack section and get some beaver nuggets and pork rinds. I the get to the glazed nut section where they are hot and fresh. The big back in me then went to the hot food section because I was told to try the brisket sandwich. I grab a regular size sandwich not realizing as I am walking away they have the XXL bbq brisket sandwich and I get that one instead. I get a fountain drink and I like they have their own brand. I mixed cream coconut soda with pineapple soda yummy! I get some magnets and I stop at the smoked meats section and get a couple different beef jerky's and I forgot to get a couple summer sausage, but I'll be back! I got to the register to pay, the older lady that rang me up wasn't all that friendly as though she hated her job, not hello or thank you said. All the other cashiers were cheery, friendly and welcoming. I wasn't going to let that negative Nancy cashier steal my joy whatsoever. I also paid for my gas, bring from California our gas is high so I assumed $25 would fill it up since I was at a quarter tank of gas. Buc-ee's definitely got my money that's for sure. I filled my tank up at $18 my mind was blown literally. I'm use to paying well over $4 a gal lol. I will definitely be back when I have much more time to look around. And I love that they're literally is a Buc-ees brand. Besides they're very low gas prices and hundreds of pumps (a little exaggeration there ), they have the most amazing food station where they serve anything and everything barbecue brisket and pulled meats. I have been very lucky to be at them in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Missouri. I am 100% obsessed with this furry little beaver! The bathrooms are impeccable, and the staff are some of the friendliest around. This spot even has 120 fuel pumps! Trust me -- don't let the crowds keep you away. There's something inside Buc-ee's for everyone. Every trip includes warm candied nuts, homemade potato chips, baked goods, and more. I love the Buc-ee's Yeti-style cups and travel coffee mugs! Seasonal T-Shirts are also a must. Most of my other trips include the beach, so the Missouri Buc-ee's doesn't have quite as much beach and summer gear as the locations closer to the coast. Roadtrip!!!! We were driving from Illinois to Dallas and scheduled a gas fill-up and food at Buc-ee's in Oklahoma! First and foremost, the interstate was pretty clear and then we excited for Buc-ee's and so did everyone else. I was like, where did these cars come from? They have quite a few gas pumps. Like a ton. And when you walk in, it's like a mall. Bathrooms are clean! They had all kinds of hot food. I decided to get a bacon, egg, cheese biscuit. It was pretty good. The biscuit was flaky but crumbly so it is hard to eat while driving. We got some snacks as well. We didn't get any souvenirs but we got food, water and snacks. The place is split (clothing, souvenirs, etc on one side and food on the other side. Cash registers were pretty quick. Finding an open pump was not too bad. Parking was full but we found one further from the building but it was still a quick walk. Overall, very cool place and would have spent a little more time but we wanted to stay on schedule for Dallas arrival. Good times!!! read more

You MUST make a stop here AND plan to add an hour to your trip because you will want to walk every aisle, see every food they are making, smell all the delicious smells, fill with gas (let's be practical) and use the clean restrooms. You will not be disappointed with the BBQ. We got the Carolina pulled pork Sammy and sliced brisket. Loved the pulled pork, moist and Smokey and slight mustard flavor (not overwhelming). The brisket is my favorite. They package it in a wrap so it doesn't try out. It's suuuuper moist, like melt in your mouth. Nice subtle smoke flavor. They offer fixings too: good bbq sauce, jalapeños, pickles..... There are baked goods too! Homemade jerky, pantry staples.... So many cool items for camping and travel like folding chairs - all with Buc-ee on them, picnic blanket, cooler, folding tables.... Then holiday items, clothes, houseware..... see how you can loose an hour? We had so much fun! And a very nice dog walking area around a pond, lots of space, potty bags provided.... It is like the Disneyland of shopping There are housewares, unique kids "stuff," clothing, candy area, bakery, deli, hot food counter, jersey station, tortilla press, plethora pecans, beverages of any type, branded items section, the biggest bathroom I have ever visited, & lastly, the gas station seemed to stretch forever. Had some time to kill and was hungry so grabbed a BBQ Turkey Sandwich for the first time. It was around 4pm on Thursday and this place was popping! They had plenty of sandwiches to choose from and this sounded good. Overall, the taste was great! However, it must have been sitting out for a little bit, as it was not overly hot any longer. It's a beautiful sunny day in the mid 70s, smack dab in the middle of Missouri, and we made a stop at Buc-ee's off I-44 between Rolla and Springfield. Fuel was $3.11 per gallon here, and just four miles down the road it jumps to $3.49 per gallon. That alone makes this place worth pulling into. At this interchange, Buc-ee's paid for roundabouts on both sides, which is highly efficient. It's a brilliant idea and enables smooth traffic flow everywhere. This Buc-ee's has been here for about three years according to Brisket Bill, and it already feels like a staple stop. I stood there watching them chop fresh brisket and almost went with the Big Buckin' Brisket Sandwich XXL... but it was just two buckin' much for me. This is a nine dollar sandwich and worth every penny! It is outstanding! I did hear employees mumbling something about brisket on something. Maybe they were just bored and wanted to chop brisket. Finally managed to check out the only Buc-ee's in Missouri. If you've been to other locations, you know what to expect. If you've haven't, no it's not just a giant gas station. It's a way of life. I stopped by on a Thursday night before a holiday weekend, so they were very busy. Still, even with families all over the place, I was able to visit the clean restroom, look at the themed merch, grab some snacks, and check out within 20 minutes. The lines tend to go very fast. General suggestion for this place - if you're there for a meal, I highly recommend the turkey or pulled pork sandwiches. The chicken fingers are fine, very fresh, but otherwise aren't really special. The exit off the highway has a Beaver themed name (which escapes me now) There are over 100 gas pumps and a spot for charging too. Inside, there is sooo much going on-possibly a little too chaotic for some. A whole section devoted to beef jerky? The bar-b-que section has the guys in full display chopping meat that looked mouth watering. The bathroom has attendants to direct you (yeah, really). Each stall is its own little room with handle signage occupied and available. Buc-ee himself was parading through the store with his own bodyguard; much like you'd see with Disney characters We just bought gas and a pack of gum. When I first heard of Buc-ee's back in 2021, I gave it a try in Georgia. Pretty cool. Then I heard about their rules against truckers. Strike 1. But, still a pretty unique tourist attraction. My husband went to a Buc-ee's near Houston and had a similar opinion. Friday, we stopped in on our way to Tx. I was shocked to find there were ZERO windshield washing areas. AND, ZERO garbage cans in the parking area. Only near the E-Vehichle charging stations. Drivers like to see out their windows and toss out some trash... Sunday, we stopped in the Melissa, TX location early morning and I was surprised that they are an egg, cheese and meat bowl. Having a Wheat Allergy this was great. We got back to the Springfield location and I had inquire if I can have a meat bowl. The only option was Brisket. Which I did end up getting, even though I preferred pork. I asked if there was anyway they could make something without the bread due to allergies. Nope. So, aside from Jerky or Brisket, anyone with potential gluten issues or wheat issues are out of luck if they want anything other than pre-packaged food or fruit/veggies. The gal working at the sandwich counter was very rude about it. Told me that I could order a pound of meat for about $30... um this was dinner on the road, IN the car since there is no place to sit and eat on a cold December day. I asked if they offered 1/2lb of 1/4lb options. She walked away. I did end up getting the container of brisket because my husband insisted that I needed to eat more than potato chips as we still had 5 hours to get to our destination last night.
