last week i went to costco being a member and took my 7 lb yorkie ith me who is my service pup. while im 76 no i dont look like im walking dead. the lady stopped me as i scanned my card and said "is that a service dog and i said "yes it is" and was then asked "what is your medical condition"?? i said "thats none of your business and in fact against the law. She then said "if its a "for emotional suppot you cant bring her in." then again said "whats your condion"/ I asked for a manager and told him what happened. He said go ahead in but with no apology. Costco is Costco... we all know what we expect. It's busy, they have what we need, etc. We were passing through this Costco en route to Tahoe to pick up food, supplies, & eat a quick bite. Upside: It was my 1st time using self checkout at Costco & the nice clerk tried to help me get my Costco rewards rebate online. It ended up not working (no biggie), but she was taking the time to tell me how the Costco app & the Citi app work great for her. Very friendly! Downside: When we ordered food, I asked a food worker if he could wrap an item with foil; he said he couldn't do that. I asked if I could have a piece of foil to do it myself; he explained that they can only use 1 piece of foil for pizza, nothing else. ((Eyebrow raised)) I walked away. It's not his fault he's following the rules. But - After spending a couple hundred in store & another $20+ on food, they can't spare A SHEET of foil? After I just read that a man returned a 10yo outdoor playset cuz his kids outgrew it - & then got over $4k refunded - but I can't get a single sheet of foil. Wow. read more

I feel like I am doing something wrong at this Costco as I am repeatedly treated badly. On the 15th of February I came across on offer on Stack Social for a Costco Card. The redemption code rang up an error code on Costco's website. We called support and we were told to go into the club and talk to the membership desk. We go up to the membership desk and explain the situation, the employee initially says there is nothing she could do and implied we were scammed. She made no effort to talk to a supervisor. We walked out, then we got a confirmation the code had processed and then walked inside where a supervisor happened to help us. We complained to the supervisor about how we were treated prior. On March 1st we made our second trip to Costco. Our membership had an issue and we again ended up at the support desk. They had no record of our membership processing. This employee did make an effort into helping us (initially). However she was unable to assist. We decided to try using the code we had from a few weeks prior on the website and this time the code processed without issue. We go back to the desk to get our cards and take our pictures. When we asked for cards, the employee told us they don't issue cards anymore. When we asked how we were given cards a few week prior, the employee doubled down and claimed to not issue cards. Luckily she passed us off to a different employee for the membership picture and when we asked him for cards he printed us cards without issue. Today I went in to make a return for an item from my first visit. I offered the employee my receipt. She said she did not need it and said she only needed my membership card. The employee could not find the purchase using my membership card. No record of the purchase was found. The employee suggested that I was not the person who purchased the item and implied (to me at least) that the item was stolen as their was no record of its purchase in their system. I lost my cool because of this being the third issue at Costco. I stated to the employee that I had the receipt and the credit card used. At that point she was able to look up the purchase and process the return. The thing is none of this is unusual. I read accounts from people on Reddit who had issues redeeming codes on costcos website. I read accounts that the membership desk pushes digital memberships to meet some sort of quota. I learned about a 7 day grace period given in circumstances of membership issues. I have also read accounts of the return desk employees being rude. Frankly I don't have these types of issues at other stores I shop at. Sam's Club for instance has never hassled me on a return or had any issues with my membership which I purchased online as well. I'm paying $65 a year for the privilege to shop there and I am being blatantly disrespected by the people I am interacting with while there. read more

First of all, I would like to say that already paying a decent amount of money for a membership just to be denied entry from 9 to 10 whenever I have to use the restroom desperately it's some pure bullshit. And secondly, not being able to use my father's membership to purchase things that he needed when we live an hour away just for them to tell me that I need to get my own membership or have him tagalong is pure bullshit as well. Both employees that denied me entry were both snobby and rude just like the Costco company itself. I've been in the store multiple times and even when I have been allowed entry, they were still snobby. If you're looking for a decent place to shop that respect its customers I would recommend going to Sam's Club instead Costco is not worth it. The food court is OK. The food isn't the best but I can guarantee Sam's Club has 10 times better quality food. Would not recommend shopping here ever. Also, a good note to take was that my father's service animal which was needed for PTSD was not allowed into Costco, which, according to Missouri law is illegal. If you are a beloved war veteran that has a service animal Sam's Club will allow you in, but Costco will not. If you struggle in crowded areas and need your service animal, Costco is not the place to go. read more

This is a newer Costco but so the facility is nice. I came here for my tires to get rotated which I bought from them. I had an appointment and shows up early. It still took well over the recommended time. Multiple other cars went through the shop before mine. It was frustrating and I will likely just rotate my self in the future. read more

They say all box stores are the same ya I don't think so. We love coming to Costco since we don't have one in Our city. I usally stop here to get my beer since it's the best deal around. A few months ago we came here and I found 28pks of Heineken for what I pay for a case here in Arkansas. Plus they have the best prices on tequila here as well. This location is nice and tidy. I love the quality of meats and other essentials. Everything was great until we got up to the self checkout. FYI!!! They no longer have hand scanners on the self checkouts and you Cannot take Anything off of the scale and organize your items in your baskets Until After Payment. HUGE Problem! Also, the self checkout host/Manager were ZERO Help! If I was in management I would have politely advised the customers that they May Want To Go Through A Manned Register due to having over 20 items or AT Least Post A Sign. I researching this I saw that Costco has had a lot of lawsuits regarding refusal to admit service animals, even legit ones. Having a disability and having paid a lot of money for service dog training, I fully understand the difference between an "emotional support animal" and a "service" animal. I contend my Costco is the Costco of all Costcos. Check out this customer service story ...... our push mower decides to break in peak, sweaty, icky mowing season. Grrrrr! My intelligent husband insists Costco has a mower for a great price. We do our due diligence and research all mowers just to analyze the best one consumer reports style. Greenworks is the best by far. Costco has Greenworks.... Well of course they do! I call up Costco and talk to Amy who confirms they are in stock and they have quite a few so I don't have to rush over and pick one up immediately. A few weeks later when the next coupons were up , I came to Costco and completed my food shopping. I was shopping alone and mentioned to Skip at check out that I would see them shortly as I needed to buy a Greenworks mower. Skip immediately radios another employee to get me a mower on a flat cart to make it easy on me. I was able to get my lunch (hot dog of course ) and load my car with my food items. As soon as I got back into Costco, like magic, there was my Greenworks mower on a flat cart at check out ready for me to pay ! Amazing ! I quickly checked out without any stress and Logan loaded the mower in my truck bed. Is that not amazing ! Skip is the best ! Thank you Skip for making my life so easy !! read more

This location is as bright and shiny as a new penny. It just opened and has everything you need. It is a welcome addition to Springfield as it offers a much needed alternative to the Sam's Club just up the street. The days when I used to walk into Costco (Vallejo Ca. California) knowing that I was getting the best price on goods without even looking at the prices are over. We live in northwest Arkansas now. When we heard a Costco was opening near us (85 miles away), we were thrilled. I knew Costco like the back of my hand. I shopped at Costco in California 3 times a week. Never looked at price tags because I knew deep down inside I was getting the best price and the largest package. We went to opening day in Springfield. As we toured the store we started noticing the packaging of products was a lot smaller, but the prices were the same or more as we remembered in California. The laundry detergent was a lot smaller but priced higher. The Dollar store is where I buy Landrey detergent now. They didn't carry Pedigree bags of dog food. I always bought the 50-pound bag in the ad @ $24.99. The only thing they carry now is Kirkland. A 40-pound bag with similar ingredients as pedigree is $36.00. I can go on but Costco knows all about this. I started talking to customers about package size but quickly realized people there had never been to a Costco. The customers had no idea there had been package size reductions. Did Costco know they would get all new members and take advantage of that and reduce the size of these items? People were clueless. I know they were all new members because the membership line was packed the whole time we were there. On a good note, the optical department had excellent employees. They told me they had weeks of training prior to the store opening and it showed. The hearing aid department had a fantastic employee. Unfortunately, he was gone the second time I shopped there and the employee tall blond guy was an egotistical moron. I already did a review on him. I am very disappointed with this warehouse. It now takes me twice as long to shop there because I have to look at prices. I could have understood a price increase, but a price increase and the container size reduced by a 1/3 is ridiculous. I guess they didn't expect to get a seasoned Costco shopper In Springfield MO Grand opening. I will still shop there but I know the prices and I will not buy there what I can get cheaper elsewhere. This is the the worse Costco I've ever shopped at. I've been to the Kirkland, Tukwila, Kapolei, Kona and Maui locations in the past and this store is nothing like them. The first thing I noticed here in Springfield is that there is no cryovac bulk meat selection that Costco is known for. Everything at this location is butchered and portioned and comes at a much higher cost because of it. WAY TOO MUCH CHICKEN. I mean, I like eating chicken but there's literally twice as much chicken as there is any other meat in that department. Second thing that stands out is the constant relocation of goods. This is infuriating for the business shopper like myself who is always watching my time. Dry goods move 2-3 aisles with no rhyme nor reason and the things that are most popular are often not reordered after they sell out like their Kirkland brand Rum which was a very good deal. Third is the inability to keep even the Kirkland brand items in stock. Im talking about the mainstays that made Costco what it is. Like today 3/25 no Kirkland Hotdogs, Franks, or Bacon. No vinegar of any kind in the store. Clearly this is a management issue and Costco is banking that middle America doesn't know any better, but for those like myself who know how good Costco's product can be this store is a 100% let down. It simply is not worth the membership. We'll be heading over to Sam's club as soon as this last year long membership is up. After well over 25years as a Costco member the juice here is not worth the squeeze. read more

I recently had an unfortunate accident involving the Costco tire center. While changing my tires, they caused a little cosmetic damage to my wheel. They immediately pointed out the problem to me. They arranged to have a wheel repair place correct the problem, and they offered me a gift card for my inconvenience. The team acted professional, kudos to Angie, the assistant general manager, and Tanner the manager of the tire shop. They constantly followed up with to correct the problem. Costco is a quality and professional company and the management at the Springfield Missouri Costco demonstrated this. I love Costco. There are certain staple products that I regularly get at Costco - even when we travel. You can't beat their price for gas. I get coconut oil, almond flour, avocado mayo, cabot white cheddar cheese, smoked salmon, macadamia nut milk, sardines in olive oil, Italian olive oil, avocado oil, certain but not all supplements, parmasan crisps, epsom salt, autumn's gold grain free granola bars, Kirkland toilet paper and paper towels, parchment paper. Pork rinds, frozen riced cauliflower and the stir fry riced cauliflower. Apple cider vinegar, organic lemon juice, monkfruit/erythrotol sweetener. Can you tell that I am on a keto diet. We LOVE Costco!! We are Alaskans and do everything in Washington state, including Costco runs!! Kirkland is basically Seattle. That being said, we are grateful for this Costco. But, can the pie bakers bake the pumpkin pie longer? It's been weeks now and the pies are still raw and the crust is under cooked. Please bake your pies all the way! Oh, and the Kirkland frozen chicken breasts in the bags, the ones that used to be individually wrapped, that chicken is now Frankin-chicken. It's pressed and glued. I can separate it perfectly like a thin deck of cards....so we don't buy that anymore. Any plans on real chicken breast individually wrapped being available again?? read more
