Since I typically ride my motor (a BMW R1250RTP) Police bike, Luling is a nice midpoint to take a quick break and refuel with reasonable fuel prices and always the best people watching you can find pretty much anywhere!! When you add this to sparkling clean bathrooms, great coffee, HUGE drinks, snacks, snacks and oh, did I mention that they had SNACKS, you get true value AND entertainment!! SERIOUSLY, Go Slow, don't be in a rush in-and-out and keep your head on a swivel, because the other drivers are not!! read more

Thee biggest Gas Station with so many stalls, it is unbelievable! Went to Texas a few times but haven't heard of Buc-ee's until earlier this year. My trip to texas earlier this year was a bit rushed. Didn't get to check them out. My second trip, I made sure I was going to experience the largest gas station. I was in Austin, on my way to San Antonio. Of course we had to fill gas at Buc-ee's, there was so many stalls and the parking lot was huge and was so easy and convenient. While my husband was filling the gas, I took a trip into the store. OMG, it was so huge and overwhelming. I looked at every direction and wanted to buy everything. But of course with self control. I looked and see what I need and should only get for my short drive to San Antonio. We youtubed and saw what people tried, so my husband got their brisket sandwich. It was so good and affordable that he was upset he didn't get another for the trip back. Even the next day he said he would want to eat that for bfast. Lol. But we were back in Austin so there wasn't a Buc-ee's nearby. There was so many snacks, taffy, jerky, nuts and much more at their prices. I have celiac disease and I wanted to buy a sandwich . They don't sell anything on gluten-free bread so I just told him to please put the meat in a little container or wrap it in the piece of paper they wrap the sandwich in . They will not do it they said they changed their policy you either buy a pound of meat for $30 or get nothing . I said just give me the same amount of meat you put on a sandwich and keep your bun and they said they will not do that . Celiac disease is recognized by the Americans Disability Act Ada . They're supposed to make some kind of accommodation if they can for this disease I don't think it's asking too much to put something in paper. This is a terrible business practice considering they used to do it all the time they have their own policy that if they only sell them meat by itself at a pound only and I didn't want to eat a pound of meat or pay $30 for a pound of meat. They weigh the meat on the sandwich so whatever that way I pay the same $10 for and I'd be happy with that . I wrote to the Department of Justice and they just too busy to take these smaller cases and Bucky's did not even call me back . It's a clean store but they should be more sensitive to people with celiac disease or any other handicap . They haven't answered any of my emails or calls so they don't care less . read more

Just a great store to stop by and get gas and whatever else you may or may not need. This is the only store that I have found the energy drink called Up Time. They are much better than any other energy drinks to me. This store carries Gift products and they also serve food like pulled pork sandwiches and other yummy items. This place was a mad house!! A serious horde of hundreds swept in and laid siege to this location. Every pump was filled and then there were people waiting. The line for the ladies bathroom was stretched out to the registers. It was elbow to elbow mob of people in here. I'm from Chicago and crowds don't usually bother me, but at one point I was nervous for my family... it was that crowded in here! THE PICS DO NOT DO IT JUSTICE!! It's a big Buc-Ees but not the giant one. So when the "Huns" descended on this location it felt like there was just no where to go! Still all the same great stuff that makes Buc-Ees the place to stop... and in general still the great people that help to make it great. Went to this store and filled up our kids water cups with water and grabbed a lot of other items totaling close to $30. When we reached the register the cashier informed us it would be $1.19 per water bottle for just water! As expensive as everything is in the store, you would think that water would be free or I guess maybe not because of my previous statement. The real issue I had was that they charge 89 cents for a 20oz cup with any drink in it but you're going to charge $1.19 for a child's 10oz cup with just water? Seems a little ridiculous that when spending that much money for other items that water wouldn't be free, or at least at a discount. This has really ruined my experience with Buc-ees and I have no desire to return. I guess they have to charge so much to pay off the giant building that they just built. read more

This is our usual go-to stop on the way to and from Houston. You can pretty much count on clean restrooms, getting something to eat or drink and gifts for friends and family. I kind of remember visiting a Bus-ee's in the late 90's but did not remember the sear volume of merchandise that they have in their stores. So of the must have items that you have to grab are listed below but are not limited to these: Pecan Rolls For those that remember those awesome Pecan Rolls that we used to be able to get at your local Stuckey's, well this is a Texas version that is about double the size of the original. There is so much caramel and pecans on these things you might need to have your sugars checked afterwords. Much better experience today than the one I had yesterday in east Texas. I was able to try some peppered jerkey and purchased 2 lbs $61 but hey it will last until I get to California . You cannot Come to texas and not stop here! They have everything you could ever think of! First, you must use the bathroom. You think I'm joking but I'm totally not. They have the cleanest bathrooms for being a gas station. Second, they have the most unique items you can buy. From clothing, to chicken squeaking dog toys, to souvenirs, and so much more. Third, after you are browsing around, now you are ready to tackle the food. Highly recommend getting anything with the bbq. The sliced brisket and sausage wrap are my personal favorites. Given the number of times I have come by Buc-ee's and had a great experience, I can't give this place any less than 5 stars! If you're not from Texas or another state with this chain, Buc-ee's is basically a one stop shop for a long road trip. We always comment that there are an insane number of pumps at the Buc-ee's gas station, but it actually makes sense because a good number of them are usually busy. It is super convenient not to have to wait forever to fill up your car. Another benefit to stopping at Buc-ee's is an almost guaranteed clean restroom. The highway signs tell the truth - large, clean restrooms which can be hard to come by. In terms of food, my favorite snack to get from Buc-ee's is their Beaver Nuggets, which are caramel coated corn puffs. They are crispy and easy to eat, which is perfect for the car! The coating makes them sweet but less so in my opinion than something like kettle corn. In the morning I usually pick up one of their sausage, cheese, & jalapeño kolaches, which are about average. The sausage is fairly large, and there is a heavy amount of breading. The apple kolache here is another good one to try - I really like the filling! They have pretty tasty BBQ sandwiches for lunch or dinner. As a dessert, I really like their praline cookies (not sure what they're called) that are usually close to the register. First Buc-ee's experience and wow the customer service is outstanding ! The beaver chips are always crispy and yummy. But hands down some of the best beef jerky I have ever had! Wide variety of flavors. All kinds of candies and snacks. The bathrooms are a very fun experience like herding cattle into the stalls very quick and efficient lol. Yeah, they have good food to go, great novelty items and t-shirts, but if you are just looking for gas or a pee break, it's quite frustrating getting in and out of here. We've always liked Buc-ee's, but unfortunately got caught by their unusual return policy this time... We bought some Christmas gifts on our drive in town along I-10. We asked at the time and were told it would be no problem to return items if needed as long as we had the receipt. On the way back we stopped at this location instead of the one we had originally purchased from and were told that Buc-ee's items can actually only be returned to the exact location they were purchased from since not all locations stock the same items. Being a non-standard policy for a chain business, I wish it had been stated more clearly when we had originally asked. Most people visit Buc-ee's locations on road trips or when traveling, so it's not always so easy to make it back to the exact location of purchase if you don't live nearby. So we were just disappointed having always heard so much about their legendary customer service but then seeing lots of other reviews from people complaining about running into the same problem over the years. read more

Now that I've seen the light on truck stops, I will always make it a point to stop at a Buc-ee's when I go across the US. Why go to a Buc-ee's? They have a lot of restroom stalls, about what looks like 50 gas pumps, lots of parking, hot meals, all sorts of fountain drinks, many icee flavors, shirts and gift items. Im hoping this catches Buccees corporate attention or at the very least, warn others about my recent experience that as I'm writing still dealing with. A reminder to ALL who frequent Buccees to be careful, slow down, and watch out for others. What happened was a few weeks ago we were on our way to San Antonio for a day trip. It was in thanksgiving day and Buccees was busy, I was the one in the car that wanted to stop. I was just getting coffee, and how this is set up, you grab your cup, fill it and then with an open lid cup, you have to turn around to grab a lid. And this Buccees has the coffee area in quite a busy area, and it's kinda tight and people walk through that area to get to other things. Well as I turned around, a child about 5-7 I'd say, ran into me. I tried to balance the coffee to not get anything on the child, instead the hot coffee got all over my hand. Well the child and their parents just kept walking by didn't even notice. Well an employee was there maintaining that area saw the whole thing and she got help right away. And I will say to much of Buccees credit, I was really cared for, and they did get me ice and bought me a burn gel to help it. And they did make an incident report about it. Well, I honestly couldn't believe it that until I went to the urgent care, that the burn was a second degree burn. And it's really affected me, I haven't been able to work now for almost 3 weeks. Thank goodness for having insurance, but I've been seeing a few doctors and care too. I do think the situation could've been worse, I'm glad the child was ok. And I do appreciate Buccees for their help. They deserve 5 stars for how they helped But this REALLY SUCKS! I don't have a high paying job and I just feel like I've gotten the short end of this and no one seems to care. I've tried reaching out to Buccees, but they haven't responded. Anyways, at the very least, take my experience as a few points and caution about coming . PEOPLE! when you go here, know that it seems to be very busy like all the time. And apparently you can get second degree burns from their coffee Parents, please watch out for your children. Please make sure they don't run. That child could've gotten hurt. And people slow down. This used to be my favorite place to stop on road trips. Don't get me wrong, I wished I had nothing to complain about Buccees, they have good quality in everything and you can always rely on them having clean restrooms. Today at this Bucee's it was like going to the county fair. The mascot was available for taking pictures with at the entrance. There were free samples. The sandwich makers were chanting things like "Hey pulled pork on a bun!" The men's restroom was clean and had no waiting. The women's restroom had a pretty long line like at a concert or ballgame. Worst Buc-ee's for food from deli and bbq sandwiches, there is no option for pickles and onions added on the bbq sandwiches usually at other locations there are sandwiches with and without pickle and onion just lazy ? Or an inconvenience? I tried to ask deli for side of pickles and onion and the lady waved her finger at me saying no the Ham Melt was sloppy and had so much mayonnaise on it you couldn't even hold it or bite it without making a mess this is a truck stop initially ppl! We just stopped for a brief moment to use the restroom and get some coffee but this place like a a fast paced Wal-Mart except they have cashier's, attendants, etc for the droves of people passing through! There were several entrances but only one set of restrooms at one end...there was a line for the women's restroom to no surprise but it moved pretty quickly with the attendant navigating people to the vacant stalls. The store itself features a typical convenient store section as well as a restaurant, hot food pick-up, coffee section and lastly souvenirs. I didn't partake in any food or anything worth commenting on but we bought a few snacks, a soda and med coffee for less than $10. There was people everywhere, a literal traffic jam. A local sheriff standing around monitoring the store. Ampel parking, all welcome from eighteen wheelers to TV's and bikes...good stop but way too much going on imo!! read more

Visiting this location happened during a trip from Houston to the Texas Hill Country for a friend's wedding. Buc-ee's is known for quite a few things: their clean bathrooms, delicious snacks, hot food, and overall awesomeness. Beyond trying something new to eat pretty much every time I visit, I'm also building up a nice collection of Buc-ee's swag. We're talking two Buc-ee's t-shirt, a stuffed animal of their mascot, and most recently, Buc-ee's boxers. Yup...I have problems. This "gas station" is an absolute joke. Yes the store is great yes the restrooms are clean but good luck trying to find an actual gas pump to load up on fuel!!! All the idiots use the pumps as a parking spot 90% of the pumps are not even being used because everyone is inside the store and clearly management doesnt give a damn because no one is out there regulating. This is the last time I ever stop here at this PARKING LOT. I saw a dude literally sitting at a pump, NOT pumping gas but eating a sandwich and asked him to move so I could pump gas but he gave me a thumbs down and wasnt moving. Absolutely ridiculous. Great gas station chain, we always pull over when we see a Buc-ee's. I gave four stars because they have nothing to wash off the windshields when you gas up. Half of them patted their eyes and "adjusted" the paint on their faces and then took a quick side turn, and all of them walked out WITHOUT WASHING THEIR HANDS!!!! Just gross y'all!! It's like a junk foodies paradise... there are snacks, real made beef jerky, sandwiches made to order, candy, cheese and fruit cups, more candy, cookies, souvenirs, clothing, toys, camping gear, etc. you name it, they've got it!!!
