Five Below for me has always been a step above their corporate brandmates (Dollar Tree, Dollar General, Family Dollar). This store doesn't exhibit many of those positive traits, and I'm somewhat surprised.
I stopped by on a Friday evening. Admittedly, it was late in the day around 6:30p, but it wasn't a Saturday or Sunday. The store was fairly trashed, meaning merchandise on the floor and out of place. It wasn't exactly a minefield, but it also looked like staff apathy was contributory, and there hadn't been an effort made to restore order in quite awhile.
I can't blame the staff for merchandise landing on the floor from undisciplined children and adults (watched it happen while I was there), but they can pick it up and return it to home just as easily as I did. I don't get paid to work here after all. There were staff roving the store, after all.
Did I find what I came for? Yes, and more. Am I encouraged to return? Big nope. read more
