Well like the first post, I'm still waiting for him to come back and finish the job. I called him after looking for help back in January when we had high winds. The winds took out three posts and two fence panels. Well, he was supposed to come out and give me a quote. (He quoted $700 without coming out to look.) Told me he would be here the following Tuesday. I waited all day and he finally showed up at 6.30 pm in the dark and pouring rain saying he'd be back the next day. He shows up the next day after dropping the wood off the night before. I showed him what needed doing and he said oh I thought there was only two posts (when I'd clearly told him three) Price went up to $850. So the understanding was he would dig out the old post and replace them. He did not, he just dug new holes next to where the post should have been. Now my fence panels are not equal in length. Well, he put the new posts in and disappeared for two hours (gone for lunch). He came back and put the cross beams on and left to get his daughter. He also removed the panels either side because of the new fence lengths. Well, he left those leaning against the outside post. (we blocked off the exposed yard with plastic fencing) He finally showed up two days later to put the two panels on and then wanted to nail the old panels into place after cutting them down to fit. I said no he needed to put them back on with brackets. Well, he didn't he somehow nailed them in when I wasn't around. He finally came back late on Friday to put the top fascia and side ones back on, we ask him to screw those on and leave the last panel as my husband wanted to replace it. (he nailed it into place). Well, he still hasn't been back to finish cutting the post to the right hight, one is still several inches taller than the rest and he left tools here. I have called and ask him to come and finishes and collect his tools but have not heard back. It seems like he has too much family life going on to commit to work projects. read more
