I came here because it was conveniently located near the Target. I was pleasantly surprised by all of the variety on the menu. I was expecting ramen only but ended up getting bibimbop and a side of kimchi. The kimchi was super good with the perfect amount of spice. The bibimbop was good and very filling. The quality and portion for the price was great. The space itself is a little cold and sterile but they have spaces for small or large groups and they have one of those grass Instagram walls. The employees were friendly and efficient. Overall, a great place for a very unique meal.

I have been going to Bubblys ever since it was known as House of Nom Nom in that original tiny space, so being able to visit it in its larger space is exciting. Bubblys is a laidback spot for fusion Asian eats, ranging from classic bibimbap to banh mi fries. Their new space has an industrial feel with several steel tables to seat people. There is a chill atmosphere for people to eat. The service is fine, but it can take some time for the food to come out depending on how busy they are. On my most recent visit to Bubblys, I got their Loaded Fries and Lychee Bubble Tea with Popping Pearls. As always, the Loaded Fries were a hit for me! The Loaded Fries consisted of cheese, bacon bits, sour cream, and scallions, which are a great combination. I also ate some of the Kimchi Fries which were also good! The kimchi gave is a sour flavor, so if you are not a fan of that on your fries, do not get it. The Kimchi Fries supposedly come with bulgogi beef, but I could not find them on the fries. I am unsure if they were just really small pieces, but I hope that there is more of a presence for the bulgogi beef as it could have helped with the sour taste coming from the kimchi. The Lychee Bubble Tea with Popping Pearls was yummy, but be warned that their bubble tea is actually a slush. I have not had the chance to try an actual full meal from the place, but what I have tried has been good. I think that Bubblys is a good introduction to Asian food for people who are not too familiar with the cuisines and flavors, especially in a city like Hickory. I want more Asian restaurants to thrive in Hickory so I support this spot!

Had some fancy pork ramen, an amazing hamburger, delightful fries, kids chicken nuggets and some boba. Go for the red chili oil as it has the perfect level of burning joy. We sat outside and enjoyed this fabulous treat. My eldest had a side of rice and loved every grain. Service was prompt and friendly. Our order was taken and we were provided a buzzer to inform us of when our meal was ready for pick up. Appreciated that the ramen came with sturdy plastic chop sticks. Several notices to check your order before leaving the counter to ensure accuracy. Our order was very accurate so this was not an issue. We will return to explore more of this appetizing menu.

The restaurant was busy on a Friday night, when you see the place busy that means it must be really good. The staff that took our orders were nice and kind. I also like the set up for the restaurant, the decor is nice. However, the place felt like it not kept up well, but may be it is Friday they are busy and hard to kept up. We didn't want Ramen, as it was hotter in the summer. So we ordered the burgers, the burgers bun felt really dry and the meat patties are also on the dryer side. The most disappointing point is the teriyaki burger didn't seem to have any type of teriyaki flavor in it. The fries was good. I looked around I saw everyone is ordering Ramen, so may be I just ordered the wrong things. I will try again next time in the area.

Yum! Yum! Yum! I really enjoyed this restaurant. The cashier was patient and friendly, because it definitely took me a while to decide what I wanted. The food came out piping hot and it was SO good! I had the Bibimbap, garlic soy wings, & a mango boba tea. Bibimbap 4/5 - I love spinach but for some reason it didn't blend well with the other flavors & they gave me too much rice.....I'll just ask for my rice on the side next time. The Korean sauce was lovely. Garlic soy wings 4/5 - they were good, but I thought the wings would be more like Korean fried chicken. Mango boba tea with tapioca 5/5 The restaurant is spacious and clean. I'll definitely be back

Like some recent Yelpers, I agree that it is easy to miss the restaurant as the entrance comes up quick and there is limited parking. But after we turned around and looked again we found it. The location was at the end of a strip center and the staff was very quiet so take a few minutes to look over the menu as there are a number of items. We both got Bahn Mi sandwiches, mine was beef and my wife had the chicken. I thought mine could have used a little more acid in the sandwich or some heat, but it was good. What was excellent though was the Kim Chee fries that were so good, delicious, and full of flavor, and left me wanting all of them. Great stop even if it is a little hard to find.

So I Ended up coming up to NC to move my brother in law in for his first day of college. We decided to stop into bubbly for lunch after getting him settled. We ordered the following: Korean wings (I think) & a side of reg fries: from what my brother in law said, the wings were good, juicy and churchy. He got about 6 in total and cleared them off the bone. The fries were delicious and fresh and came with a huge portion. Based off his experience, I would recommend it. Teriyaki Rice Bowl- wife ordered this and sadly wasn't pleased with the bowl at all. The rice was over cooked and soggy while the chicken was pretty bland. The owners were kind enough to make another one for her but it tasted the same. Based off her experience, I wouldn't recommend it Pineapple Teriyaki burger & Asada Fries - I ordered this and thought the burger was just okay. It wasn't bad but it also wasn't amazing. It was also a bit smaller than expected. The Asada fries were good but just had a lot going on with the toppings. Based off my experience, I would recommend trying the fries over the burger, just be prepared for a large helping. Oh, and I had a Thai tea boba, which was probably the best thing out of everything I purchased! If your in hickory and need a quick bite, this spot is worth a try. Just may be a hit or a miss depending on what you get.

Nothing to brag about. Interesting concept but food preparation lacks. Too little meat on sandwiches and overcooked. Oh, if they change their signage out front, people may be able to find it easier. Light blue on white backdrop is hard to spot, especially when there's a tree half way blocking sign. read more

Food was good they seemed a short staffed as tables were not wiped down after customers left. They have a great variety of bubble tea and milk tea that are usually great except for this last time. Overall the food was ok. I've ordered the banh Mi burger, however; it didn't taste like a Vietnamese sandwich if that was what he was going for and the kimchi fries..,well I wasn't to crazy for it either. I think they shouldn't have loaded cheese with kimchi. Just saying. I thought the fries had a unique weird taste to it. It wasn't my favorite. I think the food needs a little tweaking. I know they've just opened but do recommend they need another blender because we finish our food before our avocado smoothie came out. Although, I have to say the mother of owner was very kind and kindly ask if everything went well. Maybe I'll go back to try something different. read more

I don't even know what to say about this place other then, I'm soooo sad it opened after I left Hickory. The food was fab! The kimchi fries are as good as everyone made them out to be, and I love smoothies without the boba. I especially loved the fact that they charged people who wanted boba more rather than me always paying the same price when I always request mine without the pearls. The entire staff was moving around in the small space at a rapid pace which made the wait ok, because they were communicating and you knew yours was coming soon. We will definitely be back on our way through! read more

Absolutely delicious food! Beautiful atmosphere and super friendly staff. We had a Tri-Tip Steak sandwich that was mouthwatering YUM! the Pineapple Teriyaki Burger didn't last 10 minutes and we fought over The Kimchi Fries!! Prices are very reasonable too! This is by far one of my favorite places to eat. The people are so friendly and polite. It has a great Christian atmosphere and a family friendly environment. The food is some of the best you can get and the bubble tea is awesome too. My favorite thing to get is the Big Kahuna burger and as asada fries, They also have really good sweet tea. I have never had anything there that was less than great in my book and I am really picky. They also have free fast wifi. read more

The atmosphere of this place is really cute and unique. Their menu carries a whole lot of different things but good different things. I love their mango and cantaloupe bubble tea as well as their loaded fries. They have a special every Wednesday from 1-4pm on their bubble teas and that is when I usually go. I really liked their papaya salad and was really sad when they stopped serving it. Their staff is really friendly, every single time I walk in, I'm always greeted immediately. I have never had my order wrong or been disappointed. If you've never tried this place, you are missing out! read more

I stopped by on Grand Opening day and giving that it was their first day, I totally understood that it was going to be a little crazy.... They had a lot of family and friends supporting them. I just thought the place was a little too noisy. Service Rating: The young girl making the drinks looked aggravated the entire time. I don't blame her. Everybody was so loud. Please fix. Food Rating: My friends and I got one of each on the menu, just to try everything. Overall the ideas are amazing but we believe the flavorings need tweaking. These people seem like great people but probably lack kitchen skills. For example my friends Asada fries came with pulled pork. Once again, great idea but poor execution. The pork was dry and her cheddar cheese was already solidified into the cold and soggy fries. Another was the kimchi fries. On the menu it states FRIED, but on my fries they seemed straight from the cans from the store. I barely tasted any bulgogi sauce on my bulgogi burger. My egg was a little undercooked (runny egg whites). The pho burger was just okay BC when I think pho I think crazy meats, veggies, broth, noodles! I think noodles should be incorporated some way some how. GO CRAZY WITH IT. This COULD be your signature BURGER, SO make it count! No other place has a pho burger, So if you're going to do it, go big OR...... YEAH! With just a little more exquisite ideas and tweaking, this place can finally start smooth sailing. read more

I'm glad that the House of Nom Nom is located in Hickory, it desperately needed some originality. It's not a huge place, but it is nice, pretty quiet, and comfortable. I was pleased with my choice on my first visit here. I had the Bulgogi Burger and Kimchi fries, loved that combo! My nephew had the Pho Burger and loaded fries, with a coconut bubble tea. He couldn't stop talking about the tea actually. Him and I consider ourselves foodies, and we enjoy trying different places that offer a variety of unique combinations and flavor. We definitely see ourselves coming back to the House of Nom Nom! read more

This place was awesome! Tried it on a whim after seeing they offered bibimbap (have not found bibimbap ANYWHERE since moving from Boston to Winston) and I am SO glad I did. I got the carne asada fries and they were delicious. Crispy, cheesy, beefy, and the salsa was an added touch that I didn't know I wanted. Nice change from a regular fast food restaurant. Bright light at the end of a strip mall. Relatively inexpensive for the amount of food we received. I ate a Binh Mi pork sandwich, my favorite stand by ate bi bim bap and we split the kimchi fries -- which actually made it way too much food! The kimchi fries are definitely worth a test drive. Thai Iced Teas to drink. Food came out quickly after ordering and they brought it to the table. They are a family-run place, and very friendly to boot. I would have given five stars but I thought his dish was not hot enough temperature wise although I can imagine it is hard to do without a stone Bowl hot as lava. Also the chairs were a bit sticky to the touch. End result is I would definitely go again if I lived in the area. read more

Great food. I got the pho burger perfect sweetness and spiciness. The bean sprouts and cilantro were very fresh as well. Probably the only fusion food in town. I will definitely be going back here. The wings (they let us order three flavors) and the bubble tea was also very good as well. The staff were both very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be going back here. read more

The chai is unsweetened so I added their chai syrup. If you want it sweeter, probably add a bit more. I didn't mind their chai as is. What should have been a satisfying Asian Fusion culinary adventure quickly morphed into an underwhelming dining ordeal. The Bahn Mi fries we ordered had a promising crunch to them, but they were sadly sparse on meat. The Bibimbap bowl was another letdown, plagued with fatty meat that lacked the freshness one expects in such a traditionally wholesome dish. A notable dish was the Sapporo miso ramen, which was good, though it did fall short of our expectations. The noodles were a bit overcooked, and given the price, we expected better quality. The Creme Brûlée boba tea was a delightful treat - creamy, sweet, and with delightfully chewy boba pearls. Still, this single high point doesn't redeem the overall experience. Service was below par, and the cleanliness of the restaurant left a lot to be desired. Dirty floors and tables aren't conducive to an enjoyable meal, adding to the overall disappointment. The steep prices don't match the quality of food or the environment here at Bubblys. Regrettably, we won't be making a return visit. Awful customer service...We walk in go to the counter to place our order patiently waiting because we see they were busy. The girl at the front look at us multiple times, we waited for 10 minutes. A couple walks in behind us and she says "I'll be with you in just a moment". Completely acting like we were not standing right at the counter waiting. They were helped right away and we are still standing there waiting. Left and not going back. I'm very patient but not patient enough to be treated like that. Holy smokes! The Bulgogi Burger was so amazing! Full of flavor and love! We also had the Asada fries and it was absolute bliss! A simple dish with complex flavors that ranged from sweet to savory, salty and tangy, acid from the lime slice cut into the meat and elevated all the flavors. I can't wait to come back!
