It looks slightly hidden in its side street near but not quite at the centre of things in Prague…read more(but Prague is small, you can walk here from old square in a few minutes), and that seems to suit Public Interest well. It has the carefully crafted appearance of a "hidden gem" or a badly kept secret, even down to the classy and none-too-subtle black-on-black print on their business card. What you get inside is a small, cool design with friendly staff and a decent array of booze. The stuff they make, they make well. Their cocktails are very nice indeed and their snacks are fantastic! I can't tell if those nuts are tiny almonds or posh peanuts, but they are tasty as! When I asked for a Gin & Tonic, the waiter asked if I wanted with lime or cucumber... "You have Hendrick's?!" I said, incredulous. They do indeed, and other more esoteric gins as well. Now, I got into some trouble asking for a White Russian. G&Ts and Caucasians are the only two cocktails I really drink, but they failed me on the latter. They only had semi-skimmed milk... They made me a Black Russian which was decent, but ultimately a bit disappointing, as it wasn't what I wanted. Don't let the photos fool you. There usually is a good amount of patrons (and staff!) in here, and they span the gamut of Types. Good place for people watching, then. Definitely give this place a try if you're around, and then pretend to your friends that you didn't find it on Yelp, but have insider knowledge on the coolest bars. Because it's that kind of place.

Blue Fjord - Seafood platter. We chose the fish from the seafood counter, which were then grilled for us along with our order of veggies.

Almost let this little gem slip through my fingers while on my European trip with the brother. We…read morewere strolling through Old Town when we stumbled into this spot. No signs yelling for your attention. Just a quiet confidence. Like it knew it was worth your time. You walk in and are met with fresh seafood. A variety of fish, shrimp, and other sea bugs. Some with eyes staring directly into your soul. The kind of display that makes you pause and say, "Right then, let's get weird." Anytime I'm with my brother, you know the one. Tastebuds of a 10-year-old but the wallet of a CEO. He's a hard guy to impress. He'll spend 80 quid on a plate and still ask if they have chicken tenders. He says things like "complex flavor profile" then washes it down with a Diet Coke. I only managed a photo of the scallop before it disappeared into my stomach. Cooked to perfection. Sweet glaze on top. Delicate. Balanced. Honestly one of the better things I ate on the entire trip. What stood out most was the chef's style. No two plates looked the same. Each one had its own story. You could tell someone cared back there. After I cleaned my plate, the waitress came over. She had a mouth on her that would make a sailor blush, but somehow it worked. She gave my brother a hard time for not finishing his shrimp. Proper dressing down. Someone had to say it. I admired her for holding us traveling lads to a local standard. Bit pricey, sure. But you're not at some tourist trap. You're eating seafood hand-picked by Neptune himself. As they say, when in Rome. Or in this case, Prague.

Picked out several kinds of seafood, which was grilled for us and brought to our table. Excellent. Also had grilled vegetables which were very good. The white Czech wines we had with our dinner were very good. SERVICE: 4.5. The people working here function as a team, and we were pleased how well they took care of us. AMBIANCE: 3.5.
