Bubble tea lab is tucked away in a small strip right by Wildberry. We stumbled upon Bubble Tea Lab after seeing their large sign outside. And wanted to see what it was all about. When we walked in we saw this super cute wall art and their large variety of beverages. We decided to try the banana milk tea and the strawberry milk tea. The banana milk tea was a bit too sweet for my liking (mainly because bananas are usually pretty sweet) but my husband loved it. I really enjoyed my strawberry milk tea, I got it with boba and strawberry jelly to amplify the flavors. It was delicious!

I haven't been here much because the few experiences i've had here haven't gone well. The year or so ago I was here last, the boba was really flavorless and unenjoyable, but I heard it was under new management since then so I was interested to try it again. The place is really cute, and is pleasant to be in. Service varies for if you'd like to order it off a kiosk provided or in person with a cashier. The reason I gave it two stars is because in my experience, the boba hasn't improved. My friend who I went with got the mango smoothie, and although they really enjoyed the flavor, the car filled with a pee-like smell. My partner was not a huge fan of the boba and said it had an aftertaste, as well as their slushy's consistency as it was more soupy than smoothie like. I am a huge boba lover and I would totally recommend somewhere else like milkcow or kung fu tea personally.

There was a bug in the mango smoothie that I ordered, looks like a fly or something. The employee was also grouchy, would not come again.

I've been a loyal customer of Bubble Tea lab for quite some time and it's great to see the service and quality of products improve over time. I recommend ordering the iced milk teas over the slushee in order to get more flavor in your drink, there is also an up-charge for the slushee. One of the best milk tea locations in Lake County! Go to drinks: Coffee milk tea, taro milk tea, strawberry or mango milk tea!

It's ok, you have to use a kiosk to check out if you're paying with card. Which kind of sucks because the person deferred me to that but I wanted to ask her questions about the menu being my first time in. Oh well. I used to get brown sugar all the time in Singapore!! It was my favorite so I figured I'd give this place a try. Got brown sugar milk tea with brown sugar boba. It was a little off to me as expected an the boba was jelly not tapioca which kind of ruined it for me. Also it was damn near $8. Sheeeeeesh. I don't think I'll be a regular here.

Taro smoothie with mango pops, instead of boba. Love the syrup on the side!!!

Love the concept of this place, create your own drink! Was so excited to see the mango and strawberry pop options instead of the traditional boba!!!

Just visited the Bubble Tea Lab in Libertyville. I ordered an avocado, banana and oat milk with boba. It tastes like ice milk. Couldn't taste the avocado or banana. It seem like they only use powdered flavor and not real fruits and vegetables. Definitely can't be healthy. I'd rather have the real produce in my smoothies. 20 minutes after drinking this imitation boba tea, my mouth and tongue are very sore feeling. Must be all the powdered produce they use. Going to have to take some Benadryl and never go back there again!!!!! Horrible place.

Aesthetic: it's pretty cool, bright, manga shelf Smoothie: we ordered the Taro blended bubble tea with tapioca balls. Lacked flavor, tasted like ice blended with a teaspoon of powdered taro. 0/10 recommend. Customer service: dude barely acknowledged us when we walked in. Probably said a total of 5 words to us: AirPods in, head down, very short interaction. We don't expect much but this was by far the bare minimum we've ever gotten as far as customer service goes. Save yourself the $ and disappointment and just drive to the mall and get your bubble tea there. Or to liquid fusion.

Had to wait for tapioca but that's completely understandable. On the other hand, the texture of the tapioca was not good. It also had a very weird taste to it. I had ordered the matcha milk tea. The taste of the matcha was barely there. It tasted very artificial and it was over diluted with milk. The decor of the place was very nice though and the cleanliness of the place was good.

Experience: My girlfriend and I were walking around a nearby trail when we were in the mood for bubble tea. Being that we live in the city, we were not expecting any bubble tea places nearby. To our surprise, we came across Bubble Tea Lab and it surely did not disappoint. Note: This review was completed during the COVID pandemic, and therefore, my experience is truly based on pick up and limited interaction with the staff. Parking: There is a lot located right in from the Bubble Tea Lab. Once you arrive, a staff member walks to you and give you a menue. So you stay in your vehicle the whole time. Very safe and clean and experience. Worth: This place is definitely my Top 3 places for bubble tea! I am just so sad it is so far from Chicago. The tea was very milky and delicious (As pictured below). If I am in the area, I will be sure to always visit and a grab a drink. 100% WORTH!!!!

In love with the brown sugar milk tea!!! Love the convenience of ordering at the window as a way during covid. Will always go back and try others.

While exploring today me and my son went to bubble tea lab in Libertyville and our experience was awesome. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They suggested us the drinks that we would love based on our choices after asking tons of questions and their suggestions absolutely did not disappoint us. Both me and my son got to enjoy some delicious drinks and took some cute photos with some cool backdrops. Would love to go back with friends one of these days

This is the Te Amo inside Hawthorne Mall. Finally, a boba tea shop that has really good quality…read moretapioca pearls. For example, the Kungfu Tea in Libertyville, their tapioca pearls are so inconsistent. Sometimes I go and they're mushy and other times, they're so hard like rubber bullets; they're never made correctly and perfectly every time. That's where Te Amo comes in the picture. Their tapioca pearls are consistently good. They also have really good flavor combinations and the drinks are made with care. Along with the boba tea, they also sell mochi donuts and basque cheesecake!

Always passed by here finally decided to try it. I ordered a hot ube dalgona with oatmilk, 25%…read moresugar (lowest it allows). It was still a bit too sweet, I would've picked 10% if it had that option. The foam is a bit sour and bitter, kinda shocking. But not until you get to the actual drink part, it's actually not bad. The light bitterness throughout was really good. Both ube and dalgona flavors come out. But I might try to go with more simple/purer flavors, one at a time. I find mixed flavors a bit too much, since not all mixed flavors go well together. Might just go with dalgona by itself next time or ube creme brulee alone. Also, I think the drink I had would've been better cold, as the ice would cut the sweetness to half if I waited long enough. I would've ordered a cold one but cold would've exacerbated my cough, so hot it is. Also wanted to add that the boba were done well, not under or overcooked. The tapioca itself had a nice toasted sugar flavor. As for service, it's mostly a self-service kiosk. Ordering is pretty easy and straightforward, and they have Apple Pay. Interestingly the ordering system is through Chowbus, they text you your order number.
