I've been here a more than a few times since it's right on my way home from work. It's a very cute hole in the wall place that looks like it's maybe run by a couple people at most. I remember playing board games here a couple years back but now it seems like most of their games are torn apart. There is a small couch area and a couple of small tables and chairs that would be perfect for reading a book or working on. But who am I kidding - the reason you come here is for the bubble tea and when it comes down to it the bubble tea is really good! My favorites are the Taro milk tea and the passion fruit tea with boba and while the taro is a tad sweeter than I would like, it definitely hits the spot on a hot summer day! And the cherry on top is the price which is great at under $4 for a milk tea with boba. My only minor complaint is that the speed of the service is incredibly variable. I've gone in there and have gotten my tea 2 minutes later. I've also gone in there and have had to wait 20 minutes for my order. I suppose that's unavoidable when there's only 2 people working there and the crowd size varies dramatically, but be warned if you're looking to go in and get something quick to go. Bubble Island is a victim of itself. They have good drinks and snacks, but the service is cold and the prices are steep. It used to be more popular, but as the service went down, so did patronage. The bubble teas are great, especially the tea based ones (versus the smoothies). They also have halo halo (shaved ice and fruit) and crispy butter toast which is melt in your mouth yummy. Yet the service is always unfriendly! It's like an Asian coffee shop, yet the cashiers always seem to not want your business. Music rarely plays and the whole place feels dead. It's uncomfortable to sit in there. Too bad, could be a great little hang out spot, but the owners need to liven the place up and hire some friendlier people. read more

It's been so long since i was here last time. But the quality has gone down to the bottom. I ordered oolong bubble tea, but the tea tasted spoiled and not fresh. I drink bubble tea all the time to know this isn't the right taste. Also it's worth noting that they use blender instead of shaker to mix the tea and powder. It's weird. I've lived in the Seabrook, Clear Lake area for five years now. Bubble Tea/Tapioca Tea shops are limited in this area. This is one of my favorites when I am craving tapioca, leechy or coffee jellies. The staffs are courteous and always greet you when you come through the door. The place is small, so when they are busy it is very crowed. The seating area along the side way is very narrow, there is more more in the front seating area. The wait at times maybe a little long, what is five to minutes when you have FREE WiFi to surf the net while waiting. Or chat with friends or make new friends! read more

2 milk teas for less than 8$!?! I was in the area for vacation over thanksgiving, and I wanted some boba, came here and was greeted by a young man with a smile who didn't mind my chatting. My taro tea was sweet with a little tart and the boba was cooked perfectly soft and chewy and a little more firm in the center. The seats were comfortable. I like their variety of flavors, jellies, and bobas. My favorite is their milk fusion tea -Taro and Matcha flavored with coconut jellies and tapico pearls. I have never had a bad drink here! Then again I haven't tried the green bean flavor, haha. They have so many other great flavors as well. The service is fast and friendly! I've been coming here at least once every 2 months since around 1998. . . It is the best smoothie I can get without having to drive to Chinatown. I love their milk tea, but my standby is usually a pina colada with half sugar or an avocado milkshake. They still use the same hardcore blenders they've maintained over the years that yield a nice, fine ice in your shake. Perfect for cooling off, satisfying that sweet tooth, and a wicked case of brain freeze. read more

In a pinch this place will do, but the flavors taste fake so stick to the"real fruit smoothies" or the more basic tea flavors. The quality of the bubbles is also hit or miss, sometimes I get them and they're perfect, but sometimes they are hard and flavorless and sometimes they're the right textile but obviously not cooked properly (boiled with sugar). I'm always on the lookout to try new bubble places that pop up in the area, but I find myself coming back to this one when I want a good drink and no surprises of whether or not I might like it. My favorite drink here is the honey almond milk tea with almond pudding, and a close second is the chocolate and coconut smoothie. My fiancé always experiments with some of the weirder drinks, and I'll usually try his too. I have never been dissapointed with a drink here or the customer service. I guess Bubble Island isn't what it used to be 8 years ago when I was still in high school. This was definitely The place to hang out in Clear Lake. I'm grateful for it now because it's the only tapioca shop in the entire Clear Lake vicinity. But I feel like the sizes are reduced and the price is still high around $4/drink. Service is usually offered by high school students, but they're always fast and friendly. The drinks taste good and definitely up to par compared to any other popular tapioca house. I'm not a fan of sweet and overly priced drinks and since now, I don't even go to chill, I can only give it 3 stars. read more

I have had a lot of bubble tea (AKA boba tea) since getting hooked on it in Taiwan about 13 years ago. Haven't had anything else on the menu but this place has the best, most consistent quality boba I have had since Taiwan. Always just a bit chewy, but not too hard, and never slimy. I'm very fond of this place it upsets me that I have to write this review but I just thought I'd give insight for my fellow African Americans. On my most recent visit I felt a bit of prejudice being displayed, seeing the difference of attitude the male employee had for the group of Caucasian/Asian customers in front of me then towards me. Very disappointing. I can't really see well, the prices are written fairly small so I asked how much an item was. He pointed at the wall to tell me that the prices are up there (as I was already aware of because I was looking to the wall already) I told him I couldn't see well and he still never gave me a price. Proceeded to buy the product. What really caught my attention though was him not only greeting but thanking and sending farewells off to the other customers but could barely thank me as I grabbed my product.
