Damaged weather stripping
Tj R.

This cash wash is a scam. Cheap price and local but the machines damage cars OFTEN! The owner and manager are quick to blame you even if the car is new and in perfect condition. This happened to me twice. The first time I believed the man when he said the weather stripping was loose. I checked the other side and found it tight and in perfect condition. When I came back again recently the other side was torn free. I was again reminded that they are essentially not responsible for anyone's car for any reason. That doesn't seem at all ethical. Don't just believe me, look at all the other negative reviews. Avoid this car wash like the plague. It is a rip off and a great way to damage your car.

My car along with several others in the neighborhood got egged. I decided to give Bubble express a try since I drove by a few times and saw that it was always busy. They advertise $6 so that I think invites people in. I opted not to get the cheapest wash nor the most expensive which I believe is $15. I drive though and when I came out on the other side, nothing changed. Went back and told the guys that guided me in ( they remembered my car). On a side note, normally at most car washes, these are the guys that tape your back wiper down and hose off or scrub your car before you enter the wash. They didn't do that. The manager came out and looked at my car and said you have to wipe this down first because it's so sticky. Lucky for me I had a bucket with some rags and car wash soap in the trunk. He said that I could go through the wash again after I wiped it down. In hindsight I should have stayed home and washed it myself rather than hand washing it at the car wash. This is the place to go if you car is a little dusty and you need to vacuum your interior.

Broken windshield wiper arm

If I could give this place 0 stars, it would happen. I have been driving my car through this car wash since it opened and even have a loyalty card with them. This ended today when the dryer at the end of the wash snapped the windshield wiper arm on the back of my car. I spoke with the manager who halfheartedly apologized and offered to accept "possible" responsibility for the act occurring. However he was unwilling to accept any financial responsibility, citing their written disclaimer. Clearly I understand why the disclaimer exists; however, their equipment still broke my back windshield wiper, costing an estimated $367 for me to replace. The manager offered me a couple of good will free car washes, which I politely declined (because why would I ever take my car back here). Drive your car through this place at your own risk, or do what I've learned to do and reach out to your mobile car detail guy, who you know for a fact will wash your car with actual care, more often.

Cheap automatic car washes would be great if the automatic car wash actually washed your car decent. I have found that I spend twice as much time then going to a full self-service wash and doing it correct myself. The first small cargo van I took through today didn't even look like a brush or water had touched the back, Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of this because I was pretty shocked and called over the owners immediately. The owner said the hitch was the problem so I remove the hitch and ran it through again but wasn't satisfied. The owner comped another wash so I brought another small cargo van back to give it one more chance. This van had quite a few bugs on the window and on the front of the vehicle. Once again ran it through and another totally shitty wash which I have documented below in the pictures. If they placed someone prior to entering the wash that would spray the front of the vehicle prior to going through the wash and wash off the bugs with a brush or bug sponge then this could be resolved. I ended up taking the second van to a self-service wash where I did it myself properly. I was trying to save time and money but spent twice as much on both. I'm shocked at how busy these places really are. It must be the curb appeal that attracts us, typically they're always busy and colorful with brands that support what I'm trying to achieve like sparkling clean, bubbles and more but in the end whether it's three dollars, six dollars or free these facilities just don't produce the turn out that satisfies me. It's like a cheap haircut and we all know that never works out.

Their soap caused permanent damage to the first layer of paint on my entire car.

Their soap caused permanent damage to the top layer of paint on my entire car. What ever this is, it is unremovable. So mad.

I believe the membership prices have gone up this year but they seem to keep the original membership price grandfathered in ( so far). We love that the car wash does season decore for Halloween and Christmas. During the holidays they have a complementary hot chocolate station and on hot days they walk around handing out free water. We have never had an issue w car damage and the car wash does an effective job of keeping our cars shining and looking like new. One time I took my car after not having had a car wash in months and the basic wash still did a decent job of cleaning up the car. The wash didn't perfectly remove all the dirt and grime from months of being in the sun, but I expect that the top level car wash would have probably done the job. Overall we are pleased w the service and our membership.

Unfortunately, during one visit, another vehicle hit the back of my car while we were going through the wash. The other driver said an employee had instructed her to move forward, so I believe the attendants need better training and should be more careful when guiding vehicles into the wash. Ultimately, I handled the matter directly with the driver who hit my car and did not hold the car wash responsible. Despite that incident, I still think it's a good car wash--I just hope management improves employee training so it doesn't happen to someone else.

For $24 we get everything but the custom wash/dry detail (the last time we showed up they had an hour and a half wait for it understandably). The aforementioned is extra. This carwash hasn't scratched our car, it actually gets all the soap rinsed off, and the dryers near the exit get a decent amount of water. The free vacuums are a saving grace when finishing things up. We have yet to splurge for the membership, but if you drive for a ride service or something I could see it being well worth it.

I received a 908 Day booklet, which lists deals that businesses in Long Beach and, also, Lakewood…read morewere offering for 908 Day, which is September 8. After looking through the booklet, I determined the best deal was a free Best Express Car Wash from Carwood Car Wash in Lakewood. You can score this free deal by texting a certain word to a certain number; I'll let you figure out those two (hint: I posted a photo lol), but it also works at the Downey location if you live closer to that one. The Best Express Wash is normally $24, so it's a steal of a deal to celebrate 908 Day! After I texted the certain word to the certain number, I immediately received a text with a link to claim my free $24 Carwood Classic Express Wash. However, it wasn't clear to me if the free car wash could only be redeemed on September 8, like the booklet says for all the other businesses, or any other day. I gave them a call on Labor Day, and I got what felt like an automated voice messaging system. It asked what my questions were, and I was a little hesitant about asking because I almost feared that I was going to have to wait for a live person to speak to, kind of like when you call customer service to dispute your billing statement. Surprisingly, they actually answered my questions while still making me think I was speaking to an automated voice messaging system! I asked what time they would be open that day, a federal holiday, and they mentioned it was normal business hours, though I had to ask again what the business hours were. I also asked them to describe what that free car wash would entail and even clarify if the free car wash could have been redeemed that day, to which they answered affirmatively. To this day, I will never know if I was actually speaking to a live person over the phone, but I thanked them for their help. I arrived at about 4:30 PM, and it wasn't terribly busy, though Google suggests that any other Monday, it would have been the most popular time for customers. I initially entered via alley, but could have entered via the El Pollo Loco entryway as that would have been a straight shot to the gate arms, which there are three of. Each of the three gates has a different name, so you should be mindful of which lane you enter for your car wash. Among those three gate arms, only the middle one was staffed, and I went there to redeem my free car wash since I wouldn't have known how to redeem it at the other automated gates. When I hit "Redeem now" on my phone, there were redeem options, but no code of any sort showed up. The employee went to an office to get a code on paper and scan the code on the machine to let me through; he also gave me a dash wipe to use now or for a later time. A right turn later, I was about to head into the car wash tunnel. As I was pulling into the car wash tunnel, there was a signicade on the left hand side, but it was hard for me to read since my rear view mirror was in the way; it was pretty much a disclaimer that they aren't responsible for damage to your car. But the most important steps you need to take upon entering the car wash: put the car in Neutral, take your feet off the pedals, keep your hands off the wheel, and ensure your windshield wipers are off. Then, let the show begin! The show will only last about a minute, and once it's over, there will be a screen that will give you a countdown as to when you can start driving out of the tunnel. After I stopped at a self-service vacuum stall, I noticed some painter's tape that held down my rear windshield wiper; I didn't see them do that, so they must have been stealthy about it. The vacuums had quite a lot of suction power and did a nice job of picking up some dirt left inside my car. They also had an air gun to blow air at high pressure in order to clear dust from places that the vacuums can't reach. However, the vacuums were quite dirty that they left some smudges of dirt inside my car :( There's a sign that says if others are waiting, you need to limit your time in the stalls to 10 minutes. Understandable, but since I came by myself, it would have turned into a race against time if it came down to that. My time also included finding a clean microfiber towel; the first two push carts didn't have one, but the third one farther away had a few available. These carts also have a lower shelf for used towels, though you could also drop them off by the air guns. I was at the vacuum stall for about 22 minutes; had a bunch of other customers come at the same time I did, I would have only been able to clean half my car before being asked to vacate the premises. There's also an unlimited wash club special, which would be $11 for the first month. Unfortunately, even the Best Express Car Wash didn't totally clean my car, leaving a few noticeable yellow spots on my car, but at least the equipment didn't damage my car. Nevertheless, I don't think I'd return as a paying customer unless they offer another deal for 908 Day next year.

I went for the $25 complete wash - it was to include the guys hand towel dry the vehicle, tire dressing, an air freshener. As I was going through their machinery I heard grinding and concern about scraping my wheels. Following a fast cursory towel off - I was on my own. I looked around and still saw the water spots, residual spots and the windows and hood. Dirty windshield and windows and the roof of the Subaru Forester was filthy. I asked them to towel off the roof as it was still dirty. I was told that they had a "new policy" of no longer cleaning the top of SUV's nor use their overhead washer in the tunnel due to previous problems. I asked to borrow a towel and do it myself... they walked away and I went to the area the guys got their clean towels and started to do it myself. Oh man, That's when two guys came running out and said "you cannot use our towels!!!" I explained that I was completing the job I had just paid for. Explained that I had a dirty car and also discovered a new 8"-10" scratch above the windshield line and surface scuffs from the machinery. I asked if they had something to rub out the new scratch (like CG "scratch and swirl") - I was told no and told again of their new "policy". I asked for a refund and was told they had no way to refund me. They did offer to run me through for a second wash --- but, now I had less confidence of risking any more damage. They also agreed I could contact my credit card and dispute the charge. I contacted CG corporate and they were clueless about this franchisee's policy's. I'm suggesting to find a better option (and in this area there are many options with customer service - not just lip service!
