This place knows how to handle a 1st haircut. Welcoming environment, & a very patient stylist. She was so supportive even when my husband, and I were sweating watching our son cry. I was so nervous to get my 3 yr old sons hair cut because I wanted a longer haircut and can never find photos of what I want from kids salons. This place was amazing though! Alma listened to me and gave me suggestions on how many inches off the back, sides and tops along with layering and thinning to get the look we wanted. My son had a rough haircut before this from another place and we had just been growing it out so we felt scared coming into this. She was so kind and helpful though. She only took 20 min and made him feel so comfortable in the process. Also the play area while we waited was awesome and after he got a balloon and lollipop. Now he LOVES getting his haircut! Definitely have found our spot and the fear I once felt around getting his haircut has lifted. read more

My son has come to Bubble Cuts several times and they always give him a great haircut. He is autistic and they are kind and compassionate with him. Most recently I came near close and it was busy, so I left but he left his water bottle there. My son freaked out and had a meltdown when he left it. I called the store and the front desk guy (possibly owner) ran it out to me with a balloon and said he'd be happy to fit me in although they were closing. What a great spot! read more

We were greeted with a smile as soon as we walked in! Very different from a previous place we had originally walked into. Alma did such an amazing job with my daughter who is 14 months old and was having her first haircut. She even put Ms Rachel on for her which we greatly appreciated. She also brought out a toy that my little one loved. It went smoother that I had expected. For this, we will be coming here for her next haircut. 2 years ago, we went to a different kids' haircut place and had a horrible experience. It took us 2 years to try to get a haircut again. My Marcus is autistic and something as simple as a haircut can be a struggle to him for a lot of reasons. I saw Bubble Cuts through Yelp and saw good reviews, so I thought it's worth a try. The place looks so clean and adorable. The waiting area had nice books and toys that eased up Marcus while waiting. We went there for a walk-in, and they were able to squeeze us in. I went ahead and gave Alma a heads up regarding Marcus being autistic and does not really follow instructions and can be sensitive to a lot of things. She said no problem and that she'll do it as quickly as she could. She instructed us what to do, and she started cutting and calming Marcus at the same time. It was a struggle, Marcus was crying, screaming, and resisting, but Alma was very patient and kept on instructing us to be able to assist her better. She was very careful and patient with Marcus and to us. We are so happy with Bubble Cuts Studio City and with Alma for ever being so patient. Over priced , the hairdresser charged us more money to , get this, shampoo my girls hair before cutting it (!!) and also tried to charge more cause there were some tangles in it (like... oh no you had to comb her hair?? Heavens! That's like manual labor . ‍. ) then when I asked for layers she said no. Not my kid. The hairdresser! Bare minimum work for definitely not minimum charge. I'll never be back. read more

Worst location ever to take your kids for a haircut. They just cut hair and are not experienced enough to even do a simple haircut that was requested. They have no enthusiasm when it comes down to cut a kids hair. They still have the audacity to ask for a tip. You don't ask for a tip, a tip is earned. read more

Alma in particular was wonderful with our son, talking to him (and us) throughout the whole process and working with him when he got a little nervous/fussy. My wife & I decided to give Bubble Cuts a chance. Unfortunately we did not have the experience we expected to have with our 2 year old. I clearly instructed that it was going to be a scissor only haircut. The stylist was pushing to use the machine but I made it clear that my son did not like it. She clearly said that the style we wanted wasn't possible because the machine was required. The style as seen in the photo that was shown was a scissor cut only. If the stylist knew that she wouldn't be able to do it she should have not taken the responsibility to proceed with the haircut. We will definitely not be returning or recommending this location. read more

Bubble Cuts is top notch! I was looking for a great place for my toddler's haircut, as many places are no longer available in the valley that I had remembered. I saw some positive reviews of Bubble Cuts before, so I decided to call in to make an appointment. David, the receptionist, was super helpful and accommodating in setting the appointment and answering some questions I had. The day of the appointment, we met Susan, and I knew we'd be in amazing hands! She was warm, friendly and super attentive with my little one. David put on a show on the tv while my son was getting his hair cut, and brought him a cup of water to drink. Susan cut and styled his hair and he loved sitting in the car type chair! It was my daughter's first haircut and I was hoping for it to be special. It was fairly easy to make an appointment-- the receptionist was pleasant. The place was kept fairly clean and the set up was pretty cute. We ran into some hiccups when we sat down and started getting her hair cut. The cut wasn't even and I felt terrible having to chime multiple times at the end to let her know it wasn't even. I'm personally not the type to hover, but it wasn't looking great. The worst part (personally) was when she scooped up my daughter's hair she had cut off off the floor for the certificate. It was poorly shoved into a small zip loc bag and was taped onto the certificate. Bah, never mind putting a rubber band on and cutting off a small bunch for a keepsake... or gently collecting strands off of my kid's lap. It left a poor taste in my mouth. Will maaaaybe give this place another go with a different stylist. read more

We took our son today and made an appointment with Alma. This salon was formerly the yellow balloon and Alma used to cut his hair there too. Bubble cuts was great- they asked if they could put anything particular on tv for our son and Alma is great with boys haircuts. The place was freshly painted and very clean. We have had so much trouble getting our sons haircut in the past (he would cry the whole time) and he is FINALLY comfortable with Alma and had a great experience at Bubble Cuts! The spa is very clean and has different themed stations for the kids with TVs at every station which definitely helped. Love Bubble Cuts and love Alma! She has been good at keeping my son at ease (he screams at the thought of a haircut) and is fast and efficient! My husband and I always struggle and prepare for tantrums but Alma managed to cut his hair without tears the last time we were there and we couldn't be happier. I would be careful with your kids haircuts if you come here. I brought my son in, and before I was able to tell the lady cutting his hair that he had a back cowlick, she had literally shaved it off. She was like "i got this, i know what you want!" I looked away for 3 mins and came back to her asking my son if he wanted a lightning bolt shaved into the side...which i was like ok now you've sold the kid on it, that was a dumb move...so we did it, and let me tell you, she doesn't even know what a lightning bolt looks like it was a "Z" for zorro. Even my 6 year old son was like "what in the world is the Z for?" Yep...who knows where they find their hair stylists, but anyone can take chunks out of a kids hair with clippers...that's not hard. We used to come here years ago when my daughter was young and the salon was under different ownership. These people do not know how to cut hair or to talk to their customers. 1 star, but honestly ZERO, or "Z" for "ZERO" in this case read more
