They're also creating a grey area by insisting the vet reviews the results first, but when I ask for "laymans terms" and you paste me something you pretend to write, yes I have a problem with that. When I asked, they admitted AI usage and then gaslighted me into believing it's only being used for "formatting". The only AI usage I ever agreed to was during a zoom call I agreed for AI based transcription of our conversation, that's all. I just don't understand why it's so hard to give an actual response that you wrote. I really wanted to like this vet but their time saving practices are grossly counterproductive and wildly inappropriate.

Bridgett had really dark brown plague on her teeth and her gums were inflamed. While in the process of non-anesthetic procedure, I could see the pink returning to her gums. She was returned for aggressiveness - she wouldn't allow anyone to touch her with their hands. She guarded her food and snapped at people and growled 24/7 - even when she was having fun. We will never know exactly what trauma she suffered before we brought her home, but we knew she deserved a chance at life. Even if she needed to be separate. That was ok. She deserved to be alive. For years we worked with Pepper, touching her with our feet, then socks over hands, giving her privacy, putting her food off to the side, and letting her come to us when she wanted attention. The ongoing issue was that Pepper wouldn't come unless we forced her. We didn't like forcing her to go out or interact. We knew there had to be another way. Then we met Jennifer! At first I thought it might be a strain, but the episodes became more frequent, sometimes waking me up in the middle of the night. I was extremely worried and just wanted to help her. A friend recommended Dr. Pasternak because he really has been incredible with her dog who was suffering from similar symptoms. she also said he takes a more holistic approach and avoids unnecessary pharmaceuticals. When I called the office first thing in the morning, the front desk staff were incredibly kind and told me to come in right away without an appointment. When we arrived, the front desk was just as compassionate and they were able to get us seen quickly, which I appreciated. A vet tech came in first to take Piper's vitals. At the time, I thought he might have been the veterinarian. When Dr. Pasternak came in, however, the interaction quickly became uncomfortable. It was primarily the demeanor of Dr. Pasternak that made the experience so upsetting. He was dismissive and abrupt from the start, which my neighbor--who had accompanied me--also noticed. He immediately asked why I hadn't brought my dog's previous medical records. I explained that in the urgency of the situation that was the last thing on my mind, but that the VCA emergency hospital across the street had them and could easily email them over. He appeared irritated by this. I also explained the medications Piper was currently on and that I had given her a full dose of trazodone before the visit to help calm her anxiety. Piper is blind and has high anxiety, but she is generally very gentle with people. Dr. Pasternak then stated that he would not treat her because the stress of the visit could potentially cause her to have a heart attack. The vet tech, seeing how distressed I was, tried to comfort both me and Piper and gently held her to help keep her calm. The only thing Dr. Pasternak offered was an injection, which he administered. Feeling shaken and still desperate for help, we immediately went to the VCA hospital across the street. The staff there treated Piper and were surprised by how the situation had been handled. Piper ended up needing about three weeks of recovery. Those weeks involved many sleepless nights, often sleeping on the floor beside her to keep her from jumping while she healed. I'm sharing this experience simply to encourage other pet owners to thoroughly research veterinary providers and consider multiple opinions, even when a recommendation comes from a trusted source. I didn't bother to read the reviews before our visit with later regret. Giving 1 star vs none as the office staff and vet technician were very kind during this extremely stressful and worrisome situation.

She examined him & performed various treatments (acupuncture, massage, Assisi loop, etc), but mostly she spent time educating me on how I could care for him better & understand what might be causing him discomfort. I've worked at an animal hospital for over 20 years & am super fortunate to have access to great veterinary care. My dog has a primary veterinarian & I work at an emergency vet facility but Dr. Polkowski was able to offer treatments & knowledge that I wasn't even aware of. She showed me things that I could do at home regularly to help Boom Boom feel better. I adopted Boom Boom from the animal shelter. He came with arthritis & soreness. Fortunately between Dr. Polkowski and Boom Boom's general doctor (at VCA McClave in Reseda), I feel I am better equipped to improve his quality of life.

The foster group (HIT Living Foundation - wonderful people) took her from a high-kill shelter after she was found wandering the streets covered in fleas and ticks and with a lame left leg/paw. She had a brachial plexus avulsion (tearing of the nerves) and wasn't moving the paw, leg or shoulder at all. Any vet will tell you that this is a very hard injury to treat and almost always results in amputation of that leg. Also, in general, Snoop was just not in good physical shape. I found Lori through a recommendation and asked her to come evaluate Snoop after I had been fostering her for about two weeks. I was nervous at first as Snoop is very people scared and only lets my boyfriend and I touch her. Lori, with her wonderful assistant/shaman, Hector (I am not a particularly mystical person but Hector has some super calming influence over animals - even my cat came right up to him and into his lap so I will call him shaman!) came to my home (all covid protocols in) and coaxed Snoop out of her shell and started treating her. Snoop has been getting acupuncture, laser, chiropractic adjustments and B12 shots all from Lori. Snoop looks forward to the visits and is always excited when they come. Also, Lori has trained me quite a bit and I do simple physical therapy exercises with Snoop throughout the week and give Snoop supplements. Honestly all easy stuff that takes about 20 minutes a day. Lori checks in in us regularly and we've now been working with her for about 6 weeks. And the results...Snoop is a different dog. She just started using her shoulder again and regaining some of the feeling in her leg although she still can't walk on it. But she is now full of energy and running around and navigating on three legs quite nicely. She's healthy and filled out and a puppy again. She also can pick up her leg more so she's not dragging the paw around all the time and I don't have to wrap in the house or backyard (only for walks or when we leave). Even if she doesn't regain full use of that leg/paw again, it's been totally worth it. Snoop won't need it amputated and the use of her shoulder is so great. She's also just so healthy and happy now. However, our fingers and crossed and we are still working on getting that paw working. Thanks Lori!
