So my boyfriend and I stopped here after our adventurous day zip lining. I must stay I am glad we stopped here. It's a good old mom and pop shop. Where the people are nice and the food is good. I'm assuming we spoke with the owner who was extremely friendly and welcoming. He informed us of how they have won the best catfish in the state and all their other achievements. He helped us decide on our order. I love when I go to an establishment and the food is amazing and the staff is just as amazing. I got all catfish because I was craving some so bad on the way home from work. The catfish rocks and they make an awesome tarter sauce (homemade) not some Kraft or prepackaged generic tarter sauce. The seasoning on the fish was very good with a lot of flavor. They include all the fixings like Louisiana hot sauce, lemon slices, and red onion. No doubt I will be back and recommend to my friends. The customer service was great as well. They even gave me an extra piece of catfish for my mini schnauzer who was with me. And yeah Fritz loved it and he will be back too. read more

They make one (or two, or three) things, and gosh darnit, they make it well! We went to Bubba's during a recent trip to Hot Springs. Austin's blooming restaurant scene tends to make our expectations high, and I didn't have to adjust those expectations even a little bit to love Bubba's. We ordered fried catfish (YUM), fried okra (YUM), and the daily special of boiled shrimp (yes, YUM) with fresh corn on the cob (you get the YUMdea). Everything tasted fresh, and fried to satisfaction. The boiled shrimp was moist and melted in our mouths. We had to order seconds and stuff ourselves. It is a tiny location with 2-3 tables inside. Plan on taking your order to-go if you can't get a table. Or just eat in the parking lot. As long as you eat here. read more

There was a couple dining in eating catfish filets they looked & smelled wonderful. I ordered 6 regular size shrimp that came with hush puppies, fries, & slaw. The shrimp were box shrimp so that wasn't the greatest *SAD FACE*. We ordered the jumbo shrimp (also boxed), chicken fingers, & catfish. All dinners. They weren't expensive meals either. After 6 hours on the road in an RV with rain the entire time, we needed a convenient dinner. But a frozen lasagna just didn't sound appetizing. So we took the RV park's recommendation and called Bubba's for takeout that we could enjoy with a nice glass of bourbon in the comfort of our motorhome. Good Idea! Stopped by at lunch to try this small shrimp and catfish Cafe. Thought it was only a to go place, but there are a few tables inside and an outside bar with stools. Glad we stopped because the shrimp and catfish were delish! Especially liked the crispy catfish . Wasn't greasy! The fries were battered and crispy too, plus the side of coleslaw was fresh. DELICIOUS!! My family and I were on vacation in Hot Springs and my dad loves catfish...I mean really, really loves catfish! This place is super small - only 4 tables inside - and super casual. (BTW- the one on Carpenter Road is the one where you can sit down, even though it's labeled Bubbas To Go. The one on Central does not have seating and is more of a "food truck" kind of location.) We got the family meal which included 10 pieces of catfish, 10 jumbo shrimp, 10 chicken tenders, hush puppies, tons of fries and cole slaw. It was a LOT of food. The fries were addictive: hot, crunchy, just the right amount of salt. I hate mushy fries- these were very crunchy and delicious. The catfish had just the right amount of breading and the pieces were thick with a lot of meat. The hush puppies were good too, just a touch of sweetness. I haven't seen my dad attack food like he did this catfish in a very long time! I'm sure we will be going back again and again when we are in town! My husband went on and on about how good the catfish is here. So for date night we went by here. For starters out of the three employees the person with the longest hair didn't wear a hair net or hat. He kept touching his face and moving his hair out of his face without putting on gloves or washing his hands. The food is the other issue. We got the catfish, jumbo shrimp and crawfish. Jumbo shrimp and crawfish were nasty and not edible. The fish was ok. The hushpuppies were iffy. The fries were also nasty. So for 16 bucks we ate one shrimp each, one crawfish each, one hush puppy each, one fry each and I ate one piece of fish. My husband ate the other two. Now I have a tummy ache. read more

I was a bit hesitant to come here at first because it only had a small number of reviews (although all good reviews), but I decided to stop in and try it. BEST DECISIONS EVER!!! I got the seafood sampler (3 pieces of catfish, 6 jumbo fried shrimp, crawfish tails, fries, hush puppies and cole slaw). I shared it with my boyfriend Bc it was plenty of food but if you're hungry enough I'm sure it's good for one! I have never had food breaded so well! Everything was fried to perfection. This was my first time trying catfish and crawfish and it definitely did not disappoint. What made my experience even better was the polite staff. The man at the counter helped us decide what to order and frequently came into the dining area to check on us to see if we needed more sauces, drink refills or anything at all. The name implies that they are only a take-out stand, (which they mostly are) but they do have 4 small tables inside. Best food in hot springs, hands down. read more

We get food here fairly often and it is always good. Tonight my wife calls the carpenter dam location gives her order and her name they tell her it will be ready in 15mins. We go there to pick it up and they tell her you must have called the other location. Checked our phone and we called 262-1100. They told that was the number to their location but they don't have the order, and they have shut everything done. So they took the order and never made it and tried to blame it on us. Great surprise! This place was recommended to me by my butcher. While I know he knows meat, I wasn't sure about fish! Turns out he does. The strip was cooked to perfection, crisp outside, juicy inside! The meat pie was delicious as was the slaw. Nice service and polite employees! read more

Stopped here for lunch while walking down the street. We sat on the outdoor patio area. Had some smokers but not super annoying. It a shame you can not sit outside without the smokers though. Pretty much standard for most restaurants. I had the naked wings and they were outstanding. My wife had the salmon and liked it a lot as well. Service was a little slow and the restaurant was not busy at all during our time there. Good cold beer and crafts. Busy corner to people watch and have a drink. read more

We had great seasoned fries, cole slaw & fantastic hush puppies! The best part- I could eat their fried food as they have a shellfish free fryer! Most places do not understand the importance of that to those with shellfish allergies. Oh- and we each got a yummy fried pie to go. They were true old fashioned fried pies. On a recent trip to Arkansas my boyfriend and I stopped at Bubba's for lunch. Before we placed our order, they offered him a sample of fried Catfish, which he liked. We opted to split the sampler basket. At no additional charge, the owner added extra Catfish and shrimp. While we were waiting for our food one of the guys brought out a basket of fried okra for us since we can't get it at home. We hadn't asked for it but enjoyed it. The guys at Bubba's made us feel welcome and taken care of. Us Northerners could get used to the southern hospitality offered at this restaurant. read more

My fiancé and I are hoping to have bubbas cater our wedding, so her and her sister went down to hot springs and tried it Saturday and it was amazing. They brought me back some the fish was excellent the shrimp and chicken were amazing although I didn't get to try the fries or hush puppies I'm sure they were good too. It's just a small place with seating for 12 but I can promise you that you don't be disappointed we drove from little rock to eat here! read more
