Great catfish and great fries. We came around 2pm in the afternoon and there were 2-3 other parties there. It was a little hard to find and easy to miss since the sign is a bit lower and smaller than expected. The catfish is fresh, flavorful, and with good batter. I especially liked the fries because they were crispy on the outside and soft inside. The Cole slaw is Mayo based and was slightly sweet. Hush puppies also good with a white cornbread. The Mr Whiskers sauce is a chipotle horseradish. I liked it and it went well with the fries and catfish. Tartar sauce was also provided.

What a delightful place. So glad we made the 9 mile drive out here. So many great things we have heard, but I think the drive and perhaps covid has lessened business here. I certainly hope it hangs in there. Make note, yelp says closing time is 8pm, but handwritten sign on door informs us it is closing at 7pm tfn. Again, glad to be here in time for this. I feel, by looking around that this business is definitely sustained by local clientele, maybe we yelpers can change that. Great oldies music playing lightly in the background. Can I just say how nice that is to not have to shout at the others I am dining with, or have to hear over the top uncensored music? Love it. And customer service? This is not a fast food joint, but its similar enough that you order your food at the counter and then sit down, they bring the food to the table. The guys that bring the food are very quick to bring the necessities , forks etc. But you ask, how is the food? Well here i have to be completely honest with ya all and maybe even disappoint some. The hush puppies were awesome, wished more than 2 came with the meal, or that we had ordered extra. The cole slaw was really good. Very finely chopped, probably food processor, but great taste. Our fries weren't the hottest, as in, kinda cold and left untouched, and IMHO, my fish could have been fried a bit more. I don't like the wet white strings that scream out to me 'NOT THOROUGHLY COOKED ' maybe mine were a fluke, idk. The others did not complain. And they were a bit "fishy" yes its fish, but that does not mean it has to have THAT FISHY taste. Same with the shrimp, didn't taste "clean" is the only word I can think of. The cocktail sauce was a big help for the shrimp. I'm not a sauce person for fish, so just the lemon and salt were my choice. The portion size of the filets were a bit disappointing to me, but I am from Houston Texas, maybe we do go big on everything and this is just a reflection of that mind set. So, what is my bottom line? I don't know, I want to love this place, and for the atmosphere... 5 big ole stars. I love supporting local businesses, so I have to say, yall give them a chance and form your own opinion, I could be having an off fish day. I am going to give it just two stars for the food. And overall a 3star from me. I will give them another try after I have tried another catfish suggestion, so I am not hard lining this a no.

If not for the food, I would've given this place a 1 star. The service was consistently slow from table to table. We actually timed the food delivery after we started realizing how slow this place was. Food was being delivered on an average of 30 mins per table. If that's within your wait time. You're at the right place. Food was about your average catfish place. The fish was clean tasting so that was a plus. The food temp was a little low like it had been sitting; which was peculiar because we saw our food get plated. The place was nice and clean and condiment bar was clean and full.

Went here for dinner and we went there because of the high reviews. You walk in, order you food, get a number and seat yourself. While your food arrives you get your drinks and condiments. We went on a Saturday night and the kitchen was swamped, we sat down and they had 10 orders waiting so the food took quite some time. Got drink refills before the food came. The food was freshly prepared and quite good. The combos come with plenty of French fried potatoes (lightly salted), hush puppies (crunchy on the outside and tasty), And the cole slaw......was THE BOMB DOT COM cole slaw (so good I could eat a bowl of it) it is very finely chopped, very light on the onions, and very moist, almost watery, but not quite, slightly sweet, and not overly spiced up, the cole slaw will bring me back to Mr. Whiskers. The chicken tenders were moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The catfish, voted best catfish (finalist) in the state of Arkansas was disappointing, was cooked right, but lacked flavor, and the biggest disappointment was the portions size of the fillets. Where I come from, two or even 3 of your filets, make one. That's the only reason I cannot honestly give Mr. Whiskers the 5 stars.

Fried catfish, fries, fried okra and hush puppies

Always good food and friendly staff. I suggest the fried catfish, fries, fried okra and hush puppies. You will be glad you ate there and won't go home hungry

This place is great and is a short drive off of I30. If you are passing through and love catfish, this is the spot. I discovered it about 8 years ago at their old location and have been stopping in when I am in the area since. I highly recommend the catfish and shrimp plate, #13. You won't be disappointed and it's unlikely that you'll find better in Arkansas.

Additionally, I've been to Greece and am quite familiar with authentic Greek cuisine. Now with all this in mind my wife and I had lunch at GOAT today with about 12 of our friends. It was my wife and I's first time here and some in our group had been there at least once. I ordered the gyro (lamb & beef) with pita bread and for $2.00 more added fries. The gyro was massive and oozed with an extremely generous portion of protein and veggies. My first bite honestly woke my taste buds ! It immediately brought back memories of my time in Greece. The fries were done to perfection - crispy on the outside and were perfect. The only thing missing was a view of the Mediterranean. My wife had their Greek salad and while she enjoyed it she said it ranked 3rd best in her top 3 salads, behind her own and one other place. If the Greek salad ranked higher for my wife I would have given 5 stars but I decided that awarding 4 stars would still be a good score but also consider her personal taste. The place is really nice inside. Great atmosphere, a lot bigger than I expected as I saw it from outside. Great decor and staff. Beautiful bar area with a huge list of adult beverages. The staff was very helpful eager to help in anyway. I honest recommend this place. We will be back again, for sure. https://the-goat-4.wheree.com/menu

For around $15, this place can't be beat. I also tried their horchata which was also tasty. Pro tip: cash is preferred at this venue, and there is a small Hispanic grocery store inside as well. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone in Hot Springs looking for a Mexican food fix!

We had pizza on our minds but the restaurant we wanted to dine at had a 45 minute to 1 hour wait. We passed; our tummies didn't want to wait that long. We headed on down the street until we saw an interesting restaurant, steaks, yummy. We headed inside and were seated immediately. It was a Sunday evening, and the restaurant was approaching their closing time, but we had plenty of time to dine. After being seated at our table, Haley, our server, greeted us and took our drink orders. It was a bit warm, so iced tea was the beverage we requested. After looking over the menu for a bit, I decided on the 8-ounce hand cut sirloin, cooked rare, accompanied with a loaded baked potato and a side salad. My wife, who wasn't very hungry, ordered loaded baked potato soup. While waiting for our entree and soup we admired all the artwork on the walls. From what we could tell, all the pieces were painted by the same local artist. The artwork was focused on rock icons. Some of them were very interesting. In a flash, my side salad was brought to our table. I ordered it with Brick House Grill's House Dressing, cheese & wine. The salad was beautiful served cold and crisp with huge slices of cucumbers. The house dressing was incredible with a touch of sweetness. Yummy. Shortly, our entrees were delivered to our table by one of the kitchen's expeditors. I love my steaks cook rare, not medium rare, rare. So many restaurants' grill master's, when they have a rare steak ordered, have a tendency to cook more towards the medium rare side. My hand-cut 8-ounce sirloin was grilled to the perfect rare. The steak had a wonderful smokey flavor from being grilled. Haley, our server, checked in with us several times. She specifically asked if my steak was grilled to perfection. My wife said the loaded baked potato was wonderful, some of the best she's ever had. Haley was an awesome server, so attentive and pleasant. What an incredible meal and time we had! Next time we're in Hot Springs, we'll definitely stop in for dinner.

We happened to stumble upon this gem randomly during our trip to Hot Springs, Arkansas not expecting much but wow were we absolutely blown away. First, you walk into a dimly lit, intimate dining area and seated at a table with very comfy chairs and menus that light up for visibility. Next, your waiter is SO knowledgeable about every item on the menu. I had history lessons about the rice production in the area while learning about which dishes to choose. While waiting for your food, you are served an edgy orange-glazed dinner roll that is simultaneously intriguing and comfortingly familiar. A delicious twist on a classic. The head chef also came around serving an amuse-bouche of another experimental apple dish which was an explosion of flavor in my mouth. Food comes- oh my goodness I cannot explain how amazing the Chislic beef tips were. Every component of this dish was just so thoughtfully crafted and well-blended. Each bite was bursting with flavor and energy. My partner also loved the potato soup. Our mains were equally impressive- my fennel rice in particular knocked my socks off. I have never tasted rice so decadent and aromatic in my life. The salmon was of course great but certainly not the star of the show. Finally, the bread pudding at the end was the cherry on top of the culinary bliss we had just experienced. I would drive 10 hours back to Hot Springs just for this restaurant. So sad it has to be so far. Do not miss your opportunity to come here if you happen to be in town!!
