    Mango Habanero Wings!!

Bubbakoo's for You and Bubbakoo's for Me!! I'm gonna try to rhyme this one, so hang in there and let's see. Burritos, Tacos, and Bowls and such, Tasty stuff that doesn't cost too much. Honest food that'll fill You Up, and cold fountain Pepsi to put in Your Cup. Shake hands with Beef, Chicken, and Pork, or Vegetables Only with Your hands or a Fork. Gotta try the Tacos gotta try the Wings, Bill's gonna try just about EVRY'THING. If You don't believe Me it's never too late, to put some Bubbakoo's right on Your plate. Before I go I gotta say, I like this place in every way. Now don't be sad cause the food is all gone, Just Come On Back And Get Your Munch On!!

I came on my lunch break because someone recommended it to me. It's the similar format of chipotle but they seem to be a fusion kind of restaurant. I got general tso tacos with rice & black beans. It was actually very good. So good that I forgot to take a picture of my food before eating. Only thing I would say is their machine doesn't work with Google pay or samsung pay, it only works apple pay so be conscious of that.

I was a little skeptical of yet another Tex Mex place in town, but I was pleasantly surprised from the time we walked in the door. The place is still pretty new, spotless, and after seeing it I was a little bummed we weren't eating in. As Wifey, my son, and I stood there trying to figure out how to order the manager stepped up and began explaining everything to us. We quickly figured out, that with all the meat and sauce toppings, this was no Moe's, Chipotle, or Qdoba. I hoped it would taste as good as everything sounded. My son got a buffalo chicken quesadilla and it was shockingly good...I usually don't love a food fusion like this but it was very good. Wifey got a burrito with chicken and a bunch of toppings and it was actually too big for her to finish. She didn't get a sauce on it so I was a little disappointed it wasn't a bit better...then again she added a lot of veggies. I got a bowl with brown rice, both types of beans, grilled veggies, shredded pork and shredded chicken, jalapeños, salsa, mango salsa, sweet chili lime sauce and corn. I broke this down into two meals, but it could have easily been three. I liked the meal a lot, but it could have used a touch of salt. Besides the manager, the other to counter workers were super nice and got us through quickly. I really hope this place makes it...competition makes everyone better...or will cause someone to fail, but call me a fan. I will certainly be back.

I went in to get something for dinner. Didn't want anything heavy like a burrito so opted for the chicken tenders. It's pretty much the same as a Chipotle or Qdoba with some extra items on the menu. The tenders were not freshly made I saw them sitting under a light out in the open and the chips were just tortilla chips. I got the sweet chili sauce for the tenders and was not impressed at all. Ate the food because I spent money on it. I would go elsewhere before coming back to this place.

I paid $13 for this amount of steak on my bowl.

I paid $13 for this amount of steak on my bowl. You go to chipotle they fill your bowl with meat not give you only a few steak tips. Rice was overly wet and steak was extremely dry. Only good thing is friendly staff. That's all.

Delicious shredded chicken burrito- they don't skimp!!!

WOW!! First time here and I have to say this place is incredible!! Bubbakoo's was born in Point Pleasant, NJ ("down the shore") for all my non-NJ friends...haha. It's a Jersey Shore brainchild that's really evolved since it's journey began in 2008. I'm pretty picky when it comes to burritos but Bubbakoo's really delivered on this one!! I thought the people were very nice and I love the ambience. They've got different kinds of seating arrangements which is cool. It's pretty large inside so you definitely won't feel cramped!!!! It's seems like the motto here is "GO BIG OR HOME" and that's my kind of place!! I noticed the surfing theme video on the TV so immediately I'm liking the vibe here. They are fast, efficient and friendly, and again....the burrito was filled to the max!!! Please refer to my photos!! :) I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu and to snap some shots of the menu and interior. Even though the price with a drink was approaching "steep(er)" I believe the quality ingredients, quantity of food and the customer service makes the cost worth it!! Also, the prices are still competitive so it's by no means super expensive. Come on by and check out Bubbakoo's "Jersey born Mexican Food" greatness!! :D

    THE CHIWAWA
    Lorraine D.

Soo I walk past this place ALL the time!!! I saw a picture of what looked like a small fried potato ball in the window (so I thought) so I went in the place was very clean and employee was very friendly & glady explained what it was and what I can get with it (which is always appreciated) so the chiwawa is a fried rice ball but it's HUGE!! And you get to choose your toppings , I chose Queso, ground beef, grilled peppers & onions , corn, tomatoes MORE cheese and sour cream . IT WAS THE BOMB !!!! Highly recommend .. two thumbs up on the yum-o-meter

I picked up an order from here and I highly recommend it! I ordered a burrito bowl with garlic chicken and all the basics. They were quick and my ordered was packed which I appreciated a lot! Will definitely try out again!

    Taco salad

Probably not the healthiest post-workout meal, but came here with a few friends since it's just a couple doors down from Blink. There were a lot of options, but we all ordered taco salads (basically a burrito bowl in a taco shell bowl). I gave three stars because Qdoba is a little cheaper and offers free guac, queso, and mango salsa. However, I did like Bubbakoo's taco shell bowl over Qdoba's as it was a little crispier and not as soggy on the bottom. There were many options for sauces and I opted for sweet chili. It was an unusual choice to add to a Mexican meal, but the flavors worked surprisingly well. I know the picture looks like it's just straight up lettuce and sour cream, but we were given a decent amount of food (especially meat) and I ended up boxing my leftovers for a second meal.

They're knowledgeable about the many items on the menu and kept our waters and chips topped up throughout the meal. The actual food wasn't as great. I do feel everything would have benefitted from salt, and I wish that as a dine-in customer my burrito had not come wrapped in to-go paper. To give you a sense of the ambiance: the Spanish-speaking cashier/cook was reading a book when I walked in, and the television on the wall was blaring a Spanish-language TV show. I was one of only two customers when I went for a Saturday lunch around 1p. The other customer was also conversing in Spanish with the front of house. I appreciated that a bottled green habanero sauce was at my table, along with Cholula. It helps add to the authenticity. All that said, maybe don't come here for the tex-mex. If I came back I'd try one of the five different kinds of tacos they offered.

After being seated, I walked around the premises and saw a large room for private events, a vast area for outdoor seating, very nice wall artistry, and even a good-sized individual room for a private meal. Shyam was an exceptional Server. He took very good care of us and contributed to an enjoyable meal. I started with a Classic Margarita and it was served in a LARGE glass. So large, that I had to hand over the car keys, afterwards. The Fat Cactus complimentary chips and salsa was AMAZING. First, the salsa had chunks of tomato, onions, and lots of basil. It was so throughly enjoyed, that we asked for a second helping, which they gladly obliged. Our selections were: Chicken Tortilla Soup (Rich chicken broth flavored with onions, tomatoes, corn, black beans, finished with a dash of cream, crispy tortilla chips, avocado, sour cream, and cheese). This soup was served in a deep bowl, had a very nice presentation, and every spoonful was flavorful. The next item was the Burrito Michoacano (Shredded chicken seasoned with authentic Mexican spices, Mexican rice, black beans, pico de gallo, cheese, and chili arbol sauce). This Burrito was huge, all of the ingredients were well seasoned, and I took some home to enjoy during the NFL playoffs. The final item was the Tamales Chicken Pastor (Homemade masa tamales, stuffed with Chicken Al Pastor, served with red enchilada sauce, and topped with creamy sour cream). I'm glad, that I discovered Fat Cactus and will definitely revisit and/or dine at their New Brunswick location.

It wasn't until hours later when, stomach growling, I traipsed over to the fridge excited for the remnants of my enchiladas de mole, that I realized to my dismay that my comida had desaparecida. I've made up for this absent-minded first experience since, and La Bamba Grill 2 now ranks among my top 3 favorite casual Mexican restaurants in this region. My dining companions and I have variously enjoyed tacos, tostadas, pozole, churrasco, and other dishes. The chicken quesadilla, something I normally only order for the kid and am disappointed by 9 times out of 10 in most restaurants, gets my adult endorsement and also passes the ultimate test: toddler approval. As you can see from my photos, it's stuffed with cheese and chicken (we opted for grilled chicken but you can get the marinated shredded version which is a little spicy). I've trauma-bonded with the aforementioned mole enchiladas, which again, is full of chicken, in a very good and well-flavored mole sauce that's better then most other moles I've had in the area. The platters are huge, with generous amounts of everything. The interior is colorfully and cheerfully decorated with Mexican-themed artwork and adornments, with cozy booths as well as a diner counter. That's because it used to be a classic diner (Boonton Diner), installed in a converted vintage train car! And if the thought of street parallel parking makes you break out in hives, you'll be glad to know this is one of few restaurants on Main St. that has a parking lot. 5 stars. One of my go-tos is the chicken quesadilla, which has a perfect tortilla - crisp on the outside, but gluten-y on the inside - along with stretchy, gooey cheese, which could stand to be more salted. Recently I went with the steak tacos, which had OK flavor, but which I wish were juicier. The chopped onions bring a lot for texture and freshness. I'm such a sucker for their thick, freshly fried tortilla chips. When parking on Boonton's Main Street is full up, La Bamba is easy to recommend because it has its own parking lot! At my last visit, at 1p on a Saturday, takeout orders were flowing, but only two tables inside were occupied.
