Picked up these amazing bowls from bubbakoo yesterday, they are similar to chipotle but somehow we love them better. Their sauce, the quantity of good, their presentation. It's a store at parsippany where we can go and grab food at anytime . They do have wraps and nachos too. There are sitting arrangements too in case someone wants to eat and go. The interior is cosy and friendly with amazing staff. We had chicken, cheese, rice , salsa, beans and other things . The sauce is on point. read more

I came on my lunch break because someone recommended it to me. It's the similar format of chipotle but they seem to be a fusion kind of restaurant. I got general tso tacos with rice & black beans. It was actually very good. So good that I forgot to take a picture of my food before eating. I was a little skeptical of yet another Tex Mex place in town, but I was pleasantly surprised from the time we walked in the door. The place is still pretty new, spotless, and after seeing it I was a little bummed we weren't eating in. As Wifey, my son, and I stood there trying to figure out how to order the manager stepped up and began explaining everything to us. We quickly figured out, that with all the meat and sauce toppings, this was no Moe's, Chipotle, or Qdoba. I hoped it would taste as good as everything sounded. My son got a buffalo chicken quesadilla and it was shockingly good...I usually don't love a food fusion like this but it was very good. Wifey got a burrito with chicken and a bunch of toppings and it was actually too big for her to finish. She didn't get a sauce on it so I was a little disappointed it wasn't a bit better...then again she added a lot of veggies. I got a bowl with brown rice, both types of beans, grilled veggies, shredded pork and shredded chicken, jalapeños, salsa, mango salsa, sweet chili lime sauce and corn. I broke this down into two meals, but it could have easily been three. I liked the meal a lot, but it could have used a touch of salt. Besides the manager, the other to counter workers were super nice and got us through quickly. I went in to get something for dinner. Didn't want anything heavy like a burrito so opted for the chicken tenders. It's pretty much the same as a Chipotle or Qdoba with some extra items on the menu. The tenders were not freshly made I saw them sitting under a light out in the open and the chips were just tortilla chips. I got the sweet chili sauce for the tenders and was not impressed at all. WOW!! First time here and I have to say this place is incredible!! Bubbakoo's was born in Point Pleasant, NJ ("down the shore") for all my non-NJ friends...haha. It's a Jersey Shore brainchild that's really evolved since it's journey began in 2008. I'm pretty picky when it comes to burritos but Bubbakoo's really delivered on this one!! I thought the people were very nice and I love the ambience. They've got different kinds of seating arrangements which is cool. It's pretty large inside so you definitely won't feel cramped!!!! It's seems like the motto here is "GO BIG OR HOME" and that's my kind of place!! I noticed the surfing theme video on the TV so immediately I'm liking the vibe here. They are fast, efficient and friendly, and again....the burrito was filled to the max!!! Please refer to my photos!! :) I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu and to snap some shots of the menu and interior. Even though the price with a drink was approaching "steep(er)" I believe the quality ingredients, quantity of food and the customer service makes the cost worth it!! Soo I walk past this place ALL the time!!! I saw a picture of what looked like a small fried potato ball in the window (so I thought) so I went in the place was very clean and employee was very friendly & glady explained what it was and what I can get with it (which is always appreciated) so the chiwawa is a fried rice ball but it's HUGE!! And you get to choose your toppings , I chose Queso, ground beef, grilled peppers & onions , corn, tomatoes MORE cheese and sour cream . IT WAS THE BOMB !!!! Disclaimer: I don't think Bubbakoo's is my thing. I thought that last time, when I believe I was at a Yelp event. But I wanted to give it a fair shake, so I went in and got two vastly different products. I went with a more traditional burrito, pulled pork, onions, Mexican type veggies and cheese. Then I tried their special Chiwawa and went a little crazy on it with barbacoa and queso as well as an assortment of different toppings. Service - very good. They were helpful in explaining what things were and showing me what everything was. They told the person ahead of me that things like queso were an upcharge but they didn't tell me - but I did say I was going to splurge on my second item, so they may have realized I knew what I was doing. So that's all fine. Location - very clean. Observing COVID protocol. They had two people working the counter, switching off, but they kept one person on me for both of my items, beginning to end. Whatever works. It went quickly. Burrito: Too American. I know I tried to get the sauce as spicy as I could, but the Mexican depth of flavor just isn't in the meats and sauces. It's a great value and good quality food, just not my thing. And I can tell you that the ingredients were well balanced. Plenty of meat in there. I can only speak for myself, but I had no issues on that front. Chiwawa: Recommend against. They take a fried rice ball and break it open below your order. I could barely taste the fried part as I was eating because it was sogged down by all the toppings. It ended up just tasting like rice, so you may as well spare yourself the trouble and just get rice. (Or ask them to keep the rice ball whole and build around it. That might actually be tasty.) The barbacoa, like the pork, had plenty of meat but just not the depth of flavor I was hoping for. Honestly, for me to give 4 stars to a cuisine I don't even like, tells you how good Bubbakoo's is. If you're not expecting it to be authentic Mexican, you and your wallet will both probably love this. (I wasn't expecting it to be authentic, I had an open mind about that.) And honestly, if I was out with someone and they really wanted to stop here, I wouldn't veto it unlike just about every other Tex-Mex type place out there. No faint praise. read more

My husband loves pork (carnitas) in his burritos especially when there is a bbq sauce option. All the places we used to get it stopped offering pork, bbq or both. He was so disappointed. They were supposed to have extra meat, instead I think it was less than usual. There was barely anything in them. Definitely not worth the money. Pros: good food (for the majority), short wait, kind staff, clean place Cons: some food is a little dry (like the ground beef), and it's a lil' pricy. I will say, the wings that I got were so good. Bone in wings, the chicken was a little dry but the parmesan garlic sauce was so tasty. I used the rest to put on my quesadilla and the nachos. The buffalo sauce was also really good, and had just enough spiciness for it to still be enjoyable and not overbearing. Tacos were ok, just the ground beef that was a tad dry, sour cream didn't really save it too much. Other than that, the rest of the taco (cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream) was great. Even the shell. Quesadilla on its own was a little bland... but then again that's how I ordered it. Not faulting them for it. Cheese and steak. But, with parmesan garlic sauce it's the best quesadilla ever. I loved it that way. I would honestly go back and order the sauce just to have that sauce by itself. No spoon. Probably not the healthiest post-workout meal, but came here with a few friends since it's just a couple doors down from Blink. There were a lot of options, but we all ordered taco salads (basically a burrito bowl in a taco shell bowl). I gave three stars because Qdoba is a little cheaper and offers free guac, queso, and mango salsa. However, I did like Bubbakoo's taco shell bowl over Qdoba's as it was a little crispier and not as soggy on the bottom. There were many options for sauces and I opted for sweet chili. It was an unusual choice to add to a Mexican meal, but the flavors worked surprisingly well. I know the picture looks like it's just straight up lettuce and sour cream, but we were given a decent amount of food (especially meat) and I ended up boxing my leftovers for a second meal. read more

Been here a few times already. I love the meal options. There's way more than what the "others" provide. We haven't gone too crazy yet, but I personally like the hibachi streak and shrimp. One of the things I tend to judged these places on is queso, and their's is great. The nachos too. At first they tasted funny to me, but then I realized they have almost a hint of fried dough taste and now I'm addicted. We ordered them to take home and try since we were full. They wrapped up the queso in aluminium foil and when we took it out about twenty minutes later it was still warm. Delicious. I would give this five stars without a doubt, except I was a bit bummed with service yesterday and I worry about it going downhill. The first time we were there was awesome - they had just opened and despite lack of experience at this restaurant, the order line moved smoothly. I decided to get a rice ball for her to try and a small container of white rice just in case the ball was no good for her. First, they charge meal price just for the ball, so I would never do that again. Not angry or anything, but it's something to keep in mind. It's definitely not worth $9. It's pretty good, but not THAT good. We also got chips and queso to take home. As the lady took care of my rice, the jerk decided to help and got queso, but he took a small cup. Uh.. Then when she grabbed the cup you're supposed to use and filled it, he tried telling her he already did that. First thing, this is one of those restaurants that doesn't take any additional comments when you order on Doordash or Uber Eats so you can't say "please put more than a 1/2 spoonful of nacho cheese on the tater tots" - which is how they arrived with barely any nacho cheese. The fried cauliflower was just awful. The bean and cheese empanada was all crust and a spoonful of bean and cheese. And for nearly $4 extra, we got about 2 teaspoons of guacamole. Don't make the same mistake I did! TL;DR: overpriced food, but on Tuesdays, ASK for $2 tacos. I've been wanting to try Bubbakoo's for a while now. Yesterday, my mom bought us Bubbakoo's for lunch, and I really enjoyed the steak and shrimp tacos, chicken quesadilla, and the fried Oreos. I was running errands for my brother and his family yesterday evening, and they had wanted Bubbakoo's for dinner. So I visited the Bubbakoo's establishment in Parsippany off of Rt. 46. My brother and his family wanted 12 beef tacos and an order of queso tots. Being that it was my 1st time ordering, I took a moment to look over the menu, see if there were any deals for a large order of tacos, but I only noticed that an order comes with 3 tacos. So I asked for 4 orders of tacos. Everything went smoothly, the person preparing my order was efficient and loaded the tacos with ingredients. I paid over $40, $9.25/order, which is pretty steep compared to other Tex Mex joints like Chipotle, Moe's or Qdoba. Once I dropped off the food at my brother's, he messages me asking if I got the $2 tacos for Taco Tuesday or in Bubbakoo's social media terminology "Taco Koosday". I was clearly upset and annoyed that when ordering a dozen tacos at $3+/taco, I wasn't even told there was some sort of deal for tacos. It's a courtesy I received at other food service establishments like Starbucks, BonChon, Domino's, and more; informing customers of deals or promos. I then saw posts on Facebook and Instagram promoting Taco Koosday. I called Bubbakoo's and spoke with the manager, Dina, asking her about their $2 tacos and asking why when I ordered 12 tacos that wasn't brought up to me. Her 1st response was it had to be ordered at the establishment for take-out, which I did. Then she remembered me, explaining I had to ask for $2 tacos because I only asked for regular tacos. And so since I didn't ask, I paid double what I could have paid. I called again today and spoke with the other manager, Jackie, who basically shared the same information; that it's not something they promote often, that I had to ask for $2 tacos, and that the deal had a limit for 5 tacos. From what I understood, the $2 tacos comes only with tacos, no chips. So I feel like I paid $13 extra for chips. I understand this is a franchise, so it may differ from store to store. But something that is promoted on social media as available at "every store open to close," I feel cheated. I also understand it's much more profitable for a business to have customers ask for a promotion/deal so that in case they don't, you charge them the full price. That's fair, it's a business. Nevertheless, I can't say I won't be back for more Bubbakoo's, but maybe not from this establishment in Parsippany. read more
