Ordered one of their recommended burritos, pretty much was all rice, little to no shrimp or steak. Pretty poor experience for $23

It's not Bubbakoo's. It's this store. They just can't get it right. The other locations are good. This actually hurts the brand.

There were several Mexican restaurants to choose from and many had great Yelp reviews. After careful consideration .... Tacos El Tio was our pick and so glad it was! What a gem. And they have a full liquor license with tons of great drinks, especially if you're looking for a margarita! I opted for a nice Mandarin Jarritos soda -- i was just in the mood. They also have screens with sporting events on + an area with a full bar to hang. They have booths and areas for large tables too - so it's great for the whole family or a nice date night. My husband loved his steak fajitas and could not stop raving about them. He loved them! I ordered the chicken fajita enchilada..and it was ginormous - - you could make two meals out of it! Sorry I dont have more photos - - we were hungry! :) And I cannot forget our awesome server, Jose! He was a super nice server and loved that he was from Ecuador - - where we recently traveled! We will definitely be back. I just made your Mexican restaurant selection for Egg Harbor Township easy!

A fun time at Egg Harbor's second-best Mexican restaurant…read more If you look at Yelp, you'll see there's another Mexican restaurant that has a slightly better rating than Tacos El Tio. HOWEVER, that other place is BYOB, and if you want to have an alcoholic beverage, for example, a margarita, you'll need to bring your own tequila. Tacos El Tio is a full-service Mexican restaurant that offers well-crafted beverages alongside delicious food. Now, to the specifics... TET has lots of parking. The inside is large, clean, and offers plenty of comfortable seating. You might prefer a table or booth that's on the far side of the dining room, well away from the bar area with its speakers and any loud conversations. Our server, Julie, was attentive, efficient, and delightful. They offer a range of margaritas, from specialty concoctions to their margaritas-on-tap. The on-tap version is about half the cost of the concocted version and, in my opinion, a far better value. As for food, all we tried, all we had to try, was their Los Nachos El Tio. That was a plate, heaped high with corn tortillas, layered with nacho stuff, along with generous portions of beef, chicken, and chorizo. And, unlike the nachos offered by some places, the good stuff wasn't merely a topping; it was interspersed with chips from top to bottom. And it was enough that even though we started off hungry, and even though it was delicious, my wife and I couldn't finish it. The only thing we'll do at our next visit is leave out the chorizo; it was our least favorite of the three proteins. TLDR: Sit somewhere far from the bar, get the least expensive margaritas, order the nachos (maybe without the chorizo), and leave your tequila at home.

We pulled up excited because the exterior alone sets the tone. Hand-painted sunflowers, colorful pennant flags, and bright green picnic tables under a covered patio. It has real personality! We dined inside, but on a cooler day, that patio would be the move. We ordered the steak tacos and the quesabirria tacos. Both were yummy!!!!!!. The quesabirria were the standout: crispy, rich, served with consomme for dipping and fresh radish and lime on the side. I do not like a soft quesabirria, so it was perfect. The flavor was on point! The service sealed it. Our server took our order and our drinks got delayed. Before we even noticed, they caught it themselves, apologized, and brought everything right over. I appreciated the simple step of correcting a mistake without being prompted. That matters to me a lot! Worth every mile of the drive from our hotel in Atlantic City.

El Rincon Del Sabor, Mays Landing, NJ…read more Sometimes the best places are the ones you almost drive right past. El Rincon Del Sabor has been open for about two years and sits just off Route 50 in Mays Landing. It is a little off the beaten path, but not by much. After hearing several friends recommend it, we finally decided to give it a try on a Friday night after 8:00 PM. First things first, it is BYOB. The good news is there is a liquor store directly across the street, so picking up whatever you want before dinner couldn't be much easier. The restaurant has that classic hole-in-the-wall feel that usually leads to good food. Inside, it looks like many authentic Mexican restaurants, bright colors, cultural decorations throughout, and a large television in the back playing a fútbol match. It feels comfortable, casual, and welcoming. The menu offers plenty of traditional Mexican dishes, although there were a few unexpected items like pizza, gyros, and cheesesteaks that seemed a little out of place. Still, the authentic selections were clearly the stars of the menu. We started with a basket of freshly made tortilla chips served with two different green sauces. Both were fresh and flavorful. The green sauce was mild and very tasty, while the red sauce brought a little more heat without being overpowering. At our table, one person ordered the chimichanga, which came with rice and beans. The portion was huge and packed with flavor. Another ordered the birria tacos, served with fresh cilantro, onions, and a rich consommé for dipping. They couldn't stop talking about how much they enjoyed them. I was originally looking for mole, but didn't see it listed on the menu. After asking our waitress, she suggested ordering the enchiladas with their homemade mole sauce instead. When I asked if the mole was made from scratch or from a paste, she smiled and told me her mother makes it from scratch. Anyone who has ever made authentic mole knows just how much time, patience, and ingredients go into preparing it. That answer alone got my attention. The mole completely stole the show. Rich, complex, slightly sweet, with just the right balance of chocolate, spices, and chiles, it was everything homemade mole should be. If you're a fan of mole, this is absolutely the dish I would recommend ordering. As we talked throughout the evening, we learned this is truly a family restaurant. Everyone working that night was related, and it showed. They treated customers like guests rather than just another table. Even though we arrived about an hour before closing, we never once felt rushed, something that can make or break a late dinner experience. We also got the feeling they're trying to build something special here and genuinely care about serving the local community. We learned they have quite a following from residents of The Oaks, and after eating here it's easy to understand why. If you live in The Oaks or are passing through the Mays Landing area, this place is well worth the short drive. The portions are generous, the ingredients are fresh, the food is authentic, and perhaps most importantly, you leave feeling welcomed. We'll definitely be back.

Great little place in the old Hutch's (or Heinzers) Corner Store, next to the old Finkbinders TV for all you old people that went to the NJ Avenue School back in the day. I mean way back, when there where no electric typewriters. Anyway, it's a BYOB place with very good food. I had a dinner that was on the top of the third page of the menu, called the Grand Fiesta Combo which include Rice, Beans, Taco, Tostada, Chicken Sope, and an Enchilada. Too much for me to eat. Wife got Burrito with the Rice and beans. Would bring my own Salsa next time because theirs was a little tame for me, however nice dinner and close to home. Prices are very reasonable and menu is on web site. Will be back.
