Now I brought my son to look for a new office chair since the one he bought from Amazon sucked! Lesson learned! Never buy a chair from Amazon since you can't try it out first. Incredible selection of quality furniture. At beginning of the pandemic, I purchased a standard office chair at Staples. Five years later I was realized that "temporary had become permanent" and this standard chair didn't provide needed support that I need while working from home. I almost purchased another standard chair (Costco), but decided to do some homework. Found BT Express on Yelp. Delighted they had several high end office chairs - cost was more than the Costco chair, but much lower than buying it new. Left with a barely used Steelcase office chair. Enjoying the great back support and overall quality. P.S. while @ BT I saw some cool furniture and artwork for sale. Great for someone starting off - or if you want quality, unique furniture at a good price. This business lacks integrity. My advice: don't believe anything they tell you. They are dishonest and misrepresent their merchandise. Or at least this sales person was. And will rip you off if you let them. I bought two Herman Miller Aerons and a Steelcase Leap in 2022. The two Aerons were presented to me as lightly used, almost new models. Shame on me for not understanding how to read the tags under the seat to verify. There was about $200 difference price for the two Aerons, because according to the sales person, one was a couple years older size C classic model vs the newer (made in 2019) size B remastered model. That "slightly" older size C classic style was 21 years old when they sold it to me!! That's right, not a couple years older than the other remastered model but an actual 18 YEARS older. WTF. Clearly, I had sucker written all over me, as I had just moved to the Bay and due to a PODs snafu had zero furniture while being WFH. Or maybe they just lie to everyone... I came to discover this when an arm snapped off last night. And not the more typical sheared bolt repair in the arm rest adjustment but a piece of the metal frame of the arm yoke that the adjustable arm attaches to snapped off of the the chair frame and then snapped in two. Unusual for this chair unless of course it's 23 years old!!! Apparently, I should expect the seat pan to crack at any moment because it was manufactured in 2001!! What a terrible way to do business. I've been watching a lot of videos on ergonomic office chairs and the Steelcase Leap V2 and Herman Miller Aeron seemed to be the most popular. I wasn't sure which I would like better in person so we drove 45 minutes to check some stores in San Jose. This was one of the few open on Saturday so we stopped in. We checked one other store that was really gross before coming to BT, so this was literally a breath of fresh air! Very clean, lots of chairs. It's funny how each individual chair feels so different even in the same make and model (maybe years or wear make the difference?). I'm glad I decided to come see in person and not order online. I selected a Steelcase Leap V2 for $400 and my partner got a Steelcase Amia for $600. Good deals, especially since they were clean and very gently used. One thing to be aware of is that they do not offer any warranty or returns. read more

They treat female customers like shit. I went there this afternoon to get a couple of chairs which don't have arms. There were no other customers when I went and I gave a clear outline of what I wanted to the sales person. The sales person told me that they had a few options - though these were difficult to sell. They then showed me the area where the chairs were and asked me to look around and went back to their desk - clearly disinterested in making a sale. No showing around, no asking what I wanted, no suggesting options, no picking the chairs up from the stack. Just told me that they are out there, find out for yourself. I still looked around - I had come that far and wanted to see if I could find the chair I wanted to purchase. As I was looking around, another customer (a man) came in and said they wanted to pick up a few chairs. The sales person followed them along like a puppy, asking questions, showing them various options. They had questions for the salesguy and were asking for options and he was eagerly answering them suggesting different options which might work, picking up chairs from the stack to show them and so on. By this point, I had found a chair that might work - but I had a few questions about it and wanted to ask about the price & delivery for 2 such chairs. I called the sales person, who said they'd be right with me and followed the other customer around jotting down details they mentioned. The other customer instead told him that they had several items they needed to factor in and it'd be better to help me out first which would give them some time to look around - he ignored this suggestion and kept attending to them. After several minutes, the sales guy was still ignoring me and attending to the other customer - to the point where they felt awkward and told the guy that he should probably go help me out first. This was the 2nd time they suggested he should go help me. The sales guy still didn't seem to care - telling them he wanted to make sure he noted down all the details of things they wanted. At that point, I decided to walk out and purchase the chair elsewhere (which I did - for 50% less!) . Their selection is severely overpriced and I found that the way they 'display' the chairs doesn't make it easy to even see them - let alone sit on one and see if it works. The ladies working in the front were welcoming and one, in particular, did a great job of explaining the chair's features and even sat down with me to demonstrate the range of customizations. Compared to other office liquidators, I felt that the quality and quantity of products at BT Express were superior. I'm a bit disappointed because they advertised on the Craiglist, saying they have many Herman Miller Aeron size B chairs for $799. I arrived today and there's none left. Only a few size C and A. Neither are for average person between 5-6ft. If you plan to visit this place for Herman Millier, you better call before you go. As for size A and size C chairs, the quality is pretty bad. Some adjustment is not working and I believe they are at most okay to so-so condition. But they only sell them for $599 so I won't complain too much. I was thinking of giving them a 1 star but the owner Tim is actually very straightforward and honest. He told me a few very nice, China-imported like new ergo chair, copy-cat chair. Each of them is selling for $499, where Staple sells these "Eurotech High Back Mesh Task Chair" for $699. He is blunt about they are copy-cat. I like his style. I walked away with Teknion Contessa chair. I paid $399 for an all mesh one. (and they have $349 for half-mesh ones). In short, not a bad place if you want to get some discount ergo stuff. All sales are final, and they accept all major credit cards. So maybe, I will give them 3.5 star. read more

Bought a Workrite Sierra HX table and a Steel case leap v2 chair. They are in pretty good shape, really happy with the purchase. They are really helpful. We need to carry those up to 2nd floor using stairs. They help me disassemble the table legs per our request to reduce weight that we have to carry up stair. This place was great! We were in the Sunnyvale area and searched up on Yelp for used office equipment. This place came up and we drove here. There was parking along the side of the building and not a lot of people were here. I needed a new chair and this place had so many selection ranging from $25 up to probably $400 as far as chairs were concerned. Almost everything we saw at this place was for sale from tables, desks, lamps, conference phones, stools, and even receptionist counters. The staff were friendly to me and they told me that the chairs in the carpeted area (front of the building) were slightly used and would be the more expensive ones versus the ones in the back of the building. I bought a chair for 1/4 of the price of a brand new one so I was happy I saved so much money for a good chair. I'll definitely come back if I need to buy any other office furniture or equipment for a lot less. read more

I've gotten great information on brands as well as fantastic delivery and set up service. They even stayed a few minutes late when I got caught in traffic on the way over and helped me load up my car when I arrived! The lady that I dealt with was dishonest. The tag on the shelves had a reduced price $20 less than the original price. Didn't realize that she charged us the higher price since we bought a few items. When we went back to tell her that she charged incorrectly. She had taken the reduced price stickers off and said that there was no reduced price. She also told us that the prices were non- negotiable and then she was giving a reduced price to another customer. Not sure why she discriminated against us because I am a woman or because I am Asian. Will recommend not dealing with her. Walk away if she is the one who wants to help you. Would give her zero stars, but we had dealt with the other people- workers, and really appreciated their honest service. It is unfortunate that one rotten apple can make the whole experience sour and I have to rethink ever going back again. read more

Tim posted to my last review, nearly 1/2 a year later....Take a note customers. To answer him simply I was looking for 6 foot, and 8 foot folding rectangular tables. (As stated in my first review) These tables sell New in the 40 to 60 range. BT was well organized, and well stocked. Their prices for used tables were 45 to 65 each, so 100% of new item retail for used merchandise. My frustration with them led me to Craigslist where I bought more tables than I could use for just under $200. Won't be back, and will make sure no one I know goes here! read more

I would give this place 1 star, but their selection of office chairs is actually pretty good. I'll get straight to the point. The main reasons I'm giving them one star: 1. Bad service - The one lady in the store literally didn't even bother to look at me when I was looking around. She was texting away on her phone, and it was really annoying because I could hear every ping that was going back and forth. After she answers three of my questions, she goes back and sits behind her desk and onto her phone. I was extremely turned off at that point. 2. Prices - I did some research before, during, and after I went to BT Liquidators and on the same Human Scale Liberty brand chairs (USED), their prices were about $50 more than another local office supply store. It was marked $350 and the other store was selling them for $295. I don't really care a lot about the $50 difference, but it was clear to me that the lady didn't even want to bother explaining anything about the chair. Good points that I should mention to be fair: 1. Good selection of office chairs. 2. It's not crowded. As in, there was one man with his daughter. read more

I tried to purchase a storage cabinet for our office-I called 3 times over 2 days: The first time I called, I spoke to a woman, she took my email address down and said the would email me shortly with a picture of what they had to save me a 30 minute drive each way- That email never came, so I waited until the next day and spoke to the same woman, and she assured me that it would come today, after it didn't show up in my inbox the second time, I called a third time and spoke to a gentleman that told me he was busy but he could try... I was frustrated at that point and just told him forget it, they clearly don't want my business. I don't know in what world this is acceptable customer service.. I was hoping for a super ergonomic desk chair, and set my sights on a Haworth Zody Task Chair. I started my search on Craigslist, and a listing came up for this place! They are selling certain fabrics of these chairs at $299, which is a STEAL. I purchased the chair and had some trouble with it, but BT was willing to work with me and help me resolve the issue. I was so happy that I actually purchased another for work, and will probably be purchasing another for my husband very soon! Ambience: It's exactly what you'd think inside - a used furniture store with lots of furniture everywhere. There is a clear "front" and "back" of the store though - it's not a warehouse. Nothing fancy but very suitable. Service: They have a responsive, reasonable folks working there who are willing to help each customer individually to ensure they get what they hope for. Shoutout to Araselly who has fantastic in answering all my questions! Location: Great central Sunnyvale location. We went to a number of liquidators looking for furniture for our new startup. I can tell you that Tim really gets it. He knows how to make deals happen and he understands his business. There is a reason why he went from his garage to being one of the largest liquidators in the area. They have an enormous selection of high quality new and used office furniture. I found these guys on Craigslist while looking for a bookcase. I needed to match one we had borrowed and trashed (oops). I found the EXACT bookcase here for $30 bucks, it was in a bit better condition than the one I had borrowed. Anyone, they have a couple of acres of warehouse space (no exaggeration) dedicated to used office furniture, with a smaller showroom of new stuff up front. If you have to furnish an office, come here and negotiate a cheap price for used stuff in good shape. A lot of nice stuff, plus a HUGE collection of secure file cabinets and desks from ex military contractors. The sales staff is great, and the warehouse staff is very helpful. We had to remove the back seat of my car, the guys happily helped me out. It doesn't get any better than this. read more

When I phoned about standing desks, the receptionist suggested that they had all sorts of new and used stuff, and I should come on down and check 'em out. What she didn't mention was that they were closing in another hour and half (3pm), and I oughta hustle. I was a little frustrated when I went to open the locked front door (with the open sign tucked inside). But then the owner came out and let me in (despite the fact that they'd closed 15 minutes before), cheerfully showed me around, and explained that the receptionist was new, and that he'd been out when I called or he would've told me what he had. Great Business, I'm expanding my Helicopter company and I needed lots of chairs and other items. I got first class service from Tim, I wanted used chairs as I have lots of things to get but they were in first class condition and Tim worked a deal for me where I think I saved 3-4 thousand on what I would have to have paid for new. I also picked up some new items and probably saved over 30% on them. I was in and out in less than 20 mins and the guys loaded everything into my trailer and secured it for me. The building is MASSIVE and they have a ton of stuff. Everything from top notch Herman Miller Aeron's (around $500) to equipment that looks straight out of a chemical lab. Although I was unable to find what I was looking for, I ended up spending an hour exploring the multiple rooms and left with a very positive opinion of the employees and the company as a whole.
