Käsespätzel

Many beer choices! Very reasonable prices for draught beer. Food was tasty. Pub menu choices. The service was great. Not busy in a Thursday night. The food took a long time to come out even though it was not busy. It was loud inside. Hard to have a conversation with out using a loud voice. The music playlist was good.

Service wasn't super attentive -- was hard to even get water. The truffle fries were yummy but heavy-- lots of mayo. The space is well organized, with bar space and tables big enough to accommodate larger groups (perhaps up to 10-12 if you squeeze!). Very close to City Hall, a good place to stop by.

They card u only if u come later on in the night. Was seated at a table, waiting for my date. The server was prompt and very attentive. Started off with a couple drinks (a dark beer and in a pear tree cocktail), chicken donner and buffalo cauliflower. The drinks and food was average but the price (guessing due to center City) was extra high.

Great neighborhood pub with amazing selection of draft and bottled beers. Menu leans German, and we enjoyed our curry wurst and soft pretzel. Happy hour is a bargain, with $3 off draft beer and food specials. Friendly & helpful bartender.

Prior to leaving PA, me and my brother found our way into this bar. It was near closing so there weren't many people. I was able to check out all of the different drinks they offered along with the setting. It was really clean and they easily had over 50+ drinks and the theme was barrels. Everything seemed to be sitting on a barrel. The bar had several tvs each with a different station and the food menu was straight forward. I had a sprite and a pretzel it was pretty good.

Yes please! I'm a sucker for good German food/beer. Was actually walking to another restaurant and saw the sign, German food and tons of craft beers on tap.... Yes please! Bartenders were super attentive, my Wurst plate was the best I've had! Yep better than that other large German restaurant that starts with an "H". Only thing that was missing was a good creme puff... but loved the Plank Dunkler Weizenbock too!

Came for lunch from the Philly Flower Show nearby. Good beer selection on taps, plus an extensive bottle list. We ended up with a Pilsner and Kolsch, and paired that with a Pretzel and beer cheese as appetizer. My partner got a salad with Chicken, while I opted for the Chicken Sandwich - both entrees were excellent.

So I was in town with some coworkers for the Army vs Navy football game and we decided to grab dinner and some drinks. We stopped into Brü since most of downtown was full and they had some space. Our seating was reminiscent of a picnic table, which was rustic to say the least but we had good views of the TVs. We placed our order of the food while the game was taking place. Fries were good, chicken sandwich lacked spice but had decent crunch. We got charged extra for ranch and hot sauce...after we ordered wings. And a extra $2 for ordering something neat. Which wasn't even a larger pour... Service was relatively quick but when it came time to get the check, the bill came out as one check. We were all separate so we asked her to split the checks into four. I thought it would've been a simple task, but apparently our waitress had no idea what items belong to whom. I thought no problem, we can tell you who had what but then she handed us a pen, asked us to split up and mark down, which belong to who. Never in my life have I been to an establishment where they asked me to split the check myself. So after we had marked off on the receipt which items belong to whom, and gave her our credit cards, she came back for a fourth time asking if we can just write it and total it on the back of the receipt since it was too confusing for her. Once we finished detailing which items belong to whom we decided to finish watching the game. The manager at the time then asks us to get up since they needed to seat more people after only sitting there for 10min but then told us that he would compensate us with a drink. Never coming back.

BRU...what an interesting place! I gave BRU a try for HH the first tome and my second visit...I came dinner! The place doesn't take reservations, so try and go when it is not too busy because it fills up fast! Great beer list of drafts and bottles! Now the food is somewhat more of a journey that you need to prepare yourself or if you are not familiar with German fare! The portions are large ...be ready! I would come back for HH drink specials and pass on dinner!

Chicken doner with truffle fries

Food was really good! Waitress was friendly. Nice atmosphere. Would definitely come back.

I personally saw negligence, slandering, and a ton of chronic health issues from BRU's Maureen and Trainee Michael Asefaw.
Nikki R.

The following is regarding using BRU for college/corporate/recruiting/fundraising events: BRU's prior floor manager, Maureen, also a manager of Aloosh inc, used to serve college students liquor underage. Personal, first-hand experience. Negligence. Liability. Maureen trained another man to run bar operations at Aloosh while she transitioned to becoming floor manager of BRU. A man by the name of Michael. Michael showed the same negligence in bar operations, intentionally. Particularly: when it came to female, underage college students. On top of it, both Maureen and Michael were always coughing. Particularly near drink items and garnishes. I don't know if this was due to some type of health issue, or inherited transmitted autoimmune issue. Still highly unappetizing and unsanitary either way. And possibly, another liability issue. In terms of using BRU for a corporate/fundraising event: These types of liability factors could really cost you in the end.

Bartender was nice, but the door staff was rude. I would have stayed longer, but I didn't appreciate their attitude.

It's a smaller enclosed back patio area with one long table, a long bar, and some wall seats. It definitely gets packed so get there early or be lucky to grab a spot. Staff here always good about making sure everything runs smoothly and it's a fun time. Their food options are pretty fairly priced and most are good picks. Haven't had everything personally, but the banh mi, bao buns, and kimchi fried rice are all decent. Crab rangoons, dumplings, and satay skewers were fine but I wouldn't get again and instead try something else. Drinks also good even at regular price. Fun spot for after work or with friends on the weekend. Thanks

Crowd: Not too young and not too old. Drinks: Very good mixed drinks, limited generic beer selection. Food: Above average bar food. Restrooms: Clean. Parking: No parking, you are in Center City; used parking garage. Value: Average. Experience: Nice experience, especially for F1 fans, will return with my F1 fantasy group. Notable mention: The service here is top notch. Love the guys working the entrance, the front desk staff, the bartenders and the folks helping you with simulators. It adds a nice touch to the overall experience. Still trying top figure out if the bathroom tracks are real (see pic)

Cannot comment on the food because we stopped here before having dinner somewhere else. However, all the staff were very attentive and helpful throughout the place. Cons: Booked our reservations in advance, then our friends wanted to join in and booked theirs too later on. Unfortunately, there was no way for the staff to combine our reservations and let us all play together. You book a group of races that are played back to back. You cannot select what team you drive for, nor can you select the track, which we did not like. You have to play each race immediately and consecutively, and we wished there was an option to take it slower and scan a card or something to prompt the next race at our own pace, like an arcade. On the last race, our screens continued to play the guidelines and looped for about 8 minutes while our friends raced next to us before we asked for help. They had to reset it and we ended up having to race a course we already did previously because there was no way for them to select the last one for us. Overall this was a disappointing experience due to the lack of technical accommodations the staff could make. It was cool-looking but outside of that was not worth the money to me.

Woo child!! Dear reader, Little…read moreGay Pub was quite easily one of our favourite spots in Philly. We went with a group two nights in a row, and everyone had such a great time both nights, which I think says rather a lot. It is not every place that earns an immediate return visit, let alone the very next evening. The music was good, the drinks were great, and the staff was super nice and friendly the entire time, which made the whole experience even better. The place was also really clean, and it never felt too crowded, which was especially appreciated with a group. There was room to actually enjoy ourselves without feeling packed in or shouted over. The rooftop was absolutely the crowd favourite and was so nice with the great weather. It really gave the whole place an extra bit of charm and made it very easy to settle in and stay a while. The location is also excellent, which made it a very convenient spot to come back to. Overall, this place delivered a thoroughly fun time, good drinks, and a very easy atmosphere to enjoy.
