I requested that they deliver it and they agreed to do so the next day. I received a phone call in advance, which was nice. The truck showed up, and they placed the heavy hot water tank in my garage. I then asked for them to move it to the basement, which was basically the reason I paid for delivery. But I was told that they're not allowed to move hot water tanks into houses. They packed up and left. I was disappointed because I paid for delivery and I should be able to say where to place the unit. Instead, I had to get my family together to slide the thing down the steps, which was fun, let me tell you. Next day delivery was nice, but they should allow the homeowner to dictate where it goes, within reason.

I promptly drove to the store, excited to get my new shelves. When I arrived, I drove to the curbside pickup parking spots and called the phone number on the sign. I dialed the extension for curbside pickup and an employee answered the phone promptly. I gave him my order number and he asked me which parking space I was sitting in. I gave that to him and he said my shelves would be brought to my minivan within five minutes. Three minutes later, two employees were carting two large boxes to my minivan. Prior to leaving my house, I cleared the contents of the rear of the minivan to accommodate large boxes. Because the boxes weighed 156 pounds each, the employees asked me to help them load them into my van, which I did. The boxes were in perfect condition upon inspection, so we loaded them into the car. The shelves installed without a hitch and now I have a ton of stuff stored neatly in my basement instead of having it slung all over the place. These shelves were $159.99 at Lowe's and $195.20 at Home Depot at the time I bought them online. This was a great experience.

A little context: Originally Sears was out (yes, they still exist). Having repaired a few refrigerators, garage doors and operator control boards myself over the years, I knew things weren't right with these Sears guys (yes, plural -- well, one in training, poor sod). They weren't dishonest, really, just excessive. Especially with cost (...pretty obviously constrained by dinosaur policy -- what felt geared towards getting a fleeced customer to buy a new appliance from Sears). The Sears guys estimated a four-figure two-man project, including for two off-the-shelf generic machine screws, $37 each, parts only. (Still had to pay them for coming out.) Bless their little hearts. I can see how people get bamboozed by this blue-shirted Sears "professionalism". Hearing good things, I contacted Daniil. And in a little more than a day, paid an eighth of the price for way more, better, no-nonsense, good natured, in-and-out service. With warranty.
