Saw Metallica here on 10-20-18. Honestly, I think Metallica was too big of an act for this venue, and it seemed the staff here was unprepared for the crowd. It was pouring rain on the night we visited. It was extremely difficult to get into the actual parking lot. Took us about 40 minutes to move one mile. I think it was just very disorganized in terms of telling people where to go. Walk from the parking lot to the venue was about 15 minutes, and then had to deal with outside security which was annoying. The seats are really small and aisles are narrow. No frills to the seats- not even cupholders. I wasn't impressed by this venue.

I went to see Billy Joel at the Bryce Jordan Center and had a decent experience. My experience was fairly limited though considering I didn't explore the venue much. Here are my take-a ways: -It's easy to get to from downtown via the free buses. -The check-in process is straight forward. Scan, quick search and done. -The acoustics for a concert are good- at least from where I was sitting. -The bathrooms are clean (clean enough). It reminded me of the Old Spectrum in Philly. The arena is older but seemed well kept. A-OK in my book.

What can I say about the BJC, the home for Thon every February. The place where so many memories are made. Ive have had the opportunity to attend Thon three years now. On our first year we didn't really know what to expect. The BJC holds 15,000 people and by Sunday of that weekend the building was at max capacity. Looking around at all the Penn state students coming together to raise money for pediatric cancers. Alright back to the review. As I said the stadium houses 15,000 people before hitting the fire code, thats a lot of people. The concourse is a large circle so as long as you know which portal you are seated in you shouldn't get lost. On the concourse level they have plenty of food options. They are pricey but that is to be expected for stadium food. As I said before since we are a four diamonds family we see more of the BJC that most average spectators don't see. They have many different conference style rooms on the second floor. On the ground floor is the basketball court or main stage if you're there for a concert. There is also a nice practice court back in the south annex. Lots of parking and its free.

Nice small indoor stadium for a Big 10 basetball game. Where every you sit there will be a good view.

A nice modern arena that's really held up the last 20 years, it's to bad the Lady Lions only get a small amount of support.

However, for an outdoor game, it was an incredible, unforgettable experience. Despite the cold, it was an amazing day. And even better that Michigan State won in overtime. It was definitely a see of blue of all, with lots of chaos and confusion from Penn state fans about where they were sitting and how to even find their seats. But, everyone was respectful. The stadium did not have much service but thankfully the bathrooms were heated. Parking was hard and easier to park further away and walk. The outdoor hockey game was definitely a unique experience and I'm so grateful I was able to attend. I would definitely be interested to attend a football game here, but of course, only if MSU was playing. Go green!

We felt welcomed and many of them thanked us for coming. One of the tailgaters even gave us shots and beer while walking towards the stadium. Stadium was under construction during the game. Made it harder to maneuver to some seating areas. Regardless of the construction, there aren't a lot of signs to help navigate the area. Entrance ticket didn't even have what gate to enter purchased seats purchased seats in section NA. There was a massive ramp to walk up to some of the seating sections. One escalator was available on the home side of the stadium. Some of the top level was setup on rafters. Port-potties were in place for that level also. I expected more screens around the concourse for it to be such a large stadium. Visitor side was packed with Penn State fans also. Stadium benches are tight and hard to enter and exit when rows are full. Might as well leave your phone in the car. . .service was very spotty. Parking: We stopped and purchased a parking pass at a gas station off the highway. I wouldn't recommend parking anywhere near the stadium. Parked in lot 44. Event staff helped waved you in. Our section was near a hill where people were getting stuck trying to park. Plenty of port-o-potties around and bags for trash. Once again there were no signs to help navigate in the lot. We ended up walking around the stadium because exit signs to specific areas were non-existent. There were no event staff in the lot assisting with exiting after the game. Took us over 2 hours to get out of the lot and to the street. Use the shuttles.

On campus, there are numerous locations to workout, but none actually have windows that you can actually see outside. Here at Rec Hall, there are huge windows that let you see North Atherton, although there isn't much to see, at least you can see sunlight. Now with all gyms at PSU, there is a ridiculous crowd. You're most likely going to be waiting for machines, and squeezing by a bunch of people just to get from one spot to the next. Sure, I've looked outside of campus to see if I should be joining somewhere else with less of a crowd. After checking out all the gyms in town, it's still better to go with the gyms on campus. The equipment is newer, and is actually maintained. At places like North Club, sure there isn't much of a crowd, but the equipment is pretty old too. Although the equipment is nicer, my gym experience isn't any better. Because there are so many people here at most times, this places get so stuffy and smelly. At a normal gym, I can run a mile and maybe break a light sweat. Here, after a mile, I look like I've been running a 5k because I am drenched in sweat. More or less, I am working out in a sauna. Rec Hall is the nicest gym on campus to get a workout. There are huge windows and new equipment. Sure, the other ones are larger, but they are also a little older. Plus, you're basically working out in a basement. On the downside, the ventilation at Rec Hall is pretty bad, and the gym starts getting humid and sweaty. If only they could actually turn up the A/C or at least open up a window or two. Want to avoid the crowds? Then don't come here between 5pm-10pm. Go when everyone else is in class so that you can actually get a peaceful workout in.
