A great new modern arena with great fans, but the goal horns are way to loud and hurt your ears.

***Cash is your friend**** …read more There's a 4% fee for credit cards and cash only concession stand It's a simple skating center as always. Could use some improvements, but it's clean, good music, lights are fun, and they still do games. Simple 9-10$ little day.

Staring at us like he didn't know what we meant and then rudely correcting us in a condescending tone. then while skating we were approached by a worker and told to get closer to the middle or get off the rink because we were skating "too slow" for the outside, when we were skating at a normal pace. We told him we just wanted to be closer to the outside and felt more comfortable, and he just said "well sorry" and skated away. There are multiple skating rinks in this area that have never showed that kind of behavior and allowed anyone of any ability to skate. This is not one of them. They punish the "slower" (normal speed) skaters disguising it as "not wanting you to get hit" instead of the people zipping around and tripping people. Saying all this without even mentioning the fact that while skating I was approached by a man who I'm pretty sure either works there or is a regular, and he attempted to flirt with me. Very awkward and strange. I don't recommend this place.

(banning should only happen if the person breaks rules it is unsafe but because of your hurt feelings) there is never enough employees. almost never a floor guard. it's often crowded to the point where there shutouts room to sit or skate. bathrooms never have paper towels either. I've heard the managed tell at an employee iced the phone and say racist things. going here is like a 3 ring circus.

All the while on the way here, I contemplated if I would partake in skating. I decided not to tempt the fates, especially since the last time I roller skated, I crack my one bone from my knee to my ankle...yeah, wasn't going down that route again. Like most skating rinks in this area the building looks a bit unassuming. In fact it looks like either an industrial building or an oversized garage. I think it's a bit confusing at this area as well since they have self-storage units for rent as well. Inside, instantly taken back to the 90s. You have to be buzzed into the place, but only after you either purchase an entrance, or are there for a party. A little extra safety precaution that doesn't allow for anyone in that shouldn't be there. The rink is your typical setup, right in the middle of the floor with a walkway around it for the most part. There is a party room, an arcade, a concession stand, and the place where you get your skates/trade in arcade tickets to get your prize. The party room is not all that great. When you book a party you are given a section of the room and you will share it with at least one other group, and it can be up to four other groups sharing the room with you. A missed opportunity here is the blocked connection to the arcade. As for the food, I did not try it. It looked like premade everything, thrown together pizza. Speaking of the arcade, it was where I spent most of my time with my nephew and niece. Typical arcade games that you can earn tickets through. Skeeball, basketball, skill games, etc. Those seem to be provided my Slinky Action Zone, at least that is what the slip says when you trade them in. Overall, great experience, but odd hours.

However, that means parking was much easier to find & closer to the building. Lines were relatively short going in. There was a nice selection of concessions. Got great seats for very low cost! Nice light effects, confetti drops & white smoke effects. Good sound quality overall. We stayed overnight in order to avoid 4-hr round trip. Hotel was only 10 mins from venue. Parking is a nightmare, no other way to explain how badly it's handled. Getting in, the bag policy is pretty common, a clear bag or a tiny wallet and then walk through a metal detector. They scan your ticket at the door and the madness of a 30-minute wait for a wristband to get alcohol and another half hour for the actual drink begins. Last night, we were there for a concert: From Ashes to New, Three Days Grace and Shinedown. We bought our tickets at the door for half the price they're offered for on-line. The lady in the ticket office was extremely knowledgeable about seating and recommended the sidestage area. The tee-shirt line took 20 minutes. By the time I got my shirt, it was time for the show to start. I could see perfectly from our seats. Hubby missed half the first band because of the chaos over what wristband was needed for a 50-year old man to have a beer. The music was incredible. The acoustics are perfection and you can literally feel the base hit your chest. The lighting has always been a problem there. They didn't consult a photographer. We'll still go back for events because we bleed Penn State blue and white, but hope they fix the chaos.
