I ordered the Emerald Garden Basket for my niece's birthday (she is a 'crazy plant lady'). The basket arrived with very healthy and thriving plants. A Peace Lily was also added, which I was so happy to have seen that personal touch and attention given to the order. The woman I spoke with was so kind and sweet. I originally wrote a review for Bryan's and it was removed. My original review simply stated, "Worst florist EVER. I have gotten items from here repeatedly through 1-800-Flowers and Teleflora. Every single time they are awful." I stand by this statement. I have ordered three different arrangements between 1-800-FLOWERS, Teleflora, and FTD. For whatever reason, despite my requests, they are always fulfilled through Bryan's. My original review was taken down since it "fell outside [the] Content Guidelines because it did not provide enough detail about your customer experience." I believe it was Bryan's who flagged this review since it was negative. To fulfill the Content Guidelines, I will provide additional details. The first order (December 2011, 1-800-FLOWERS) I placed was to be for a large bouquet of tulips with candy canes (for the holiday season). What was delivered was four wilted white tulips in a blue vase with four dollar-store candy canes TAPED to green floral spikes. Second order (June 2012, Teleflora) was for a beachy bouquet for my mother's birthday. What I requested had wild-flowers and a rustic style vase -- all in whites, blues, and silver colors. What was delivered was pink and yellow flowers in a mirrored vase with green ribbon. Now I understand, based on season and availability, the need to substitute flowers but what was delivered had absolutely no resemblance to even the basic description of what was ordered. Third and final order (December 2015, FTD) was placed with 1-800-FLOWERS because Elegant Flowers by Ms. Brenda (my preferred florist in the area) was booked for the rest of the season. I specifically spoke to 1-800-FLOWERS and requested to NOT have Bryan's Florist fulfill this request. Wouldn't you know, Bryan's came to ruin the holidays (again) after delivering a puny bouquet which looked like they at least understood the holiday theme but couldn't quite grasp the concept of putting together something that looked presentable. I paid for an upgraded bouquet which should have had at least 6 lilies and 6 roses but what was delivered was 3 of each with chintzy looking filler. I was lectured on the phone for approximately 5 minutes on how Teleflora doesn't provide the florist with enough money to cover what is being ordered and I, as the customer, need to accept what I was given. After this, I vowed to never use one of the services again since it seems as though Bryan's is the only florist in the area fulfilling orders. Unfortunately, since my normal florist, the AMAZING Elegant Flowers by Ms. Brenda - seriously, call her and she's amazing, was booked up, I had to resort to FTD to make sure there was a holiday flowers delivered to my mother. Needless to say, the flowers that get delivered from Bryan's, while I don't order them directly but are being fulfilled through Bryan's, are a travesty. They make me embarrassed that I decided to send flowers at all. read more

I give my 100th review (yay!) to the most trusted florist in Gary. Period. My family and I have trusted Bryan Florist & Greenhouse with birthday, prom/dance, wedding, and funeral needs for years. Every time we do not work with Bryan and try someone else in the area, we are left disappointed. We always return back to Bryan, as they seem to give us the old-style florist quality we seek. Prices are affordable and Bryan is known to work with your and your budget. I also have heard from many Bryan is a little more experienced in working with those who are mourning. The delivery service is another highlight for Bryan. I have never had a problem with Bryan getting a order to me or the requested party. I have experienced Bryan call me ASAP when they can not find a location or not able to deliver by the deadline. On a few instances, they have been a day early! My only request for improvement would be the grave sheets during the holiday season. I was a bit disappointed to learn that Bryan's doe not offer the item anymore. In summary I only trust Bryan with my florist needs in Gary. Period. Even though I no longer live in Gary, I call Bryan for my mother's birthday and mother's day arrangements. No matter where I am in the world, I know they will get them to her. I trust Bryan and I always will. read more

I placed three separate orders from Bryan Florist and I was highly disappointed with the level of customer service & quality of the arrangements. I understand with the current pandemic COVID-19 there are issues with the supply of flowers but when a customer is dissatisfied you do what you can to accommodate them. When I first called about my order I spoke with a rude gentleman that could careless about my opinion of the arrangement & even laughed when I explained the symbolic meaning of each bouquet that was selected. Then I drove to the shop in Gary and was still disappointed with the level of customer service I received from Erica, the manager. No empathy, compassion, or apology. Just we'll give you your money. Everything is not about money, just because you give a customer a refund doesn't mean the issue is resolved. The end result is I received a full refund after retrieving all 3 arrangements from 3 different delivery locations & bring them back to the Gary location. I will never do business with Bryan Florist again & I would highly recommend others to do the same. Poor presentation & horrible customer service. read more
