I have used Kellen's Florist for over 30+ years way back from when I was going to dances. Unfortunately, this time I actually had two employees arguing with me over what I ordered. I went in calm just wanting some changes that could be closer to what I asked for and couldn't believe the extreme attitude and unprofessionalism I was given. You aren't always going to hit a home run, so at least have the customer service skills down and not make your paying customers feel bad for wanting what they paid for. Be Better Kellen's. My sister passed away suddenly and I forgot to order flowers. When I called the floral place I deal with in Munster, the lady told me it was impossible to make this wreath on this short notice. The gentleman in the store was very helpful, that's where the good stops . He suggested a vase of flowers so it could go home with someone. I thought that was an excellent idea. When I saw my flowers I was embarrassed, and knew no one would take them home. I could have put flowers in a vase to look better than these were. Very upset about an incident . about a week ago, (week of Christmas) called and placed an order for a dozen red roses, for a good friend of mine, for his wifes birthday, as a surprise. the woman I placed the order with, I made sure that if there was a problem, I was to be called..To be delivered New Year's Eve. 7PM New Years Eve's -NO FLOWERS..I left a message-they were closed..Next morning, I got a call, and person that answered phone told me that they were delivered and no one was home....untrue!! Shopping for flowers long distance is difficult. Not living in the area, I didn't know any florists or their true reputations and there aren't a large number of reviews. The person that took my order was very considerate and helpful. I asked about making a specific type of arrangement and she personally checked to make sure that the item was in stock. I received a picture from a friend who attended the service and the arrangement looked very nice. It would be nice if the florists would send a photo once the flower arrangement is made to confirm the completion and ease the mind of an out-of-town client. read more

Ordered a bouquet for my wife of 28 years on Wednesday, to be delivered on Thursday, paying an additional $15 to ensure they arrive before 2PM, but failed to make it by then. I called to get a status, only to find out it was not actually through the local store that I purchased from, only 6 miles away, but through FTD, and contracted out. When they didn't show up, called the store, only then to find out this info. They gave me a tracking number for FedEx, but those stupid idiots didn't have any info. Thought then maybe it was UPS, but not them either. I called the store again, and just told the order is contracted out - didn't really seem to care. I had an email purchase confirmation from FTD, and when I called them, giving them the Order number from their email, that stupid idiot couldn't find my info. By now, I was livid and ready to go have words with someone face to face, but my wife and I had somewhere to be. So, when we got back, a box was on my porch, containing the $75 flower arrangement, only to find out that the flowers suffered some sort of freeze burn, and the lily's had burnt ends. Now 2 days later, they're pretty much dead, won't bloom, and my wife has a dead bouquet of flowers in the vase. I will NEVER buy from this store again, and definitely never through FTD again. Proflowers has never disappointed and will only use them going forward. I might as well have taken my money and flushed it down the toilet. Be very cautious when buying flowers and make sure you know where they're coming from. Buying local doesn't mean squat! read more
