Southwest HVAC - Working the Pasadena trade show this weekend

Southwest HVAC

(655 reviews)

Our A/C stopped working during this horrible heat wave, and after calling 11 different HVAC…read morecompanies, this was the only company that was able to get me scheduled the soonest. They originally booked me for Saturday but told me they would call if an earlier appointment became available. To my surprise, they contacted me the very next day because of a cancellation. Our technician, Fabian, was outstanding. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and thorough. He took the time to explain what was causing the issue and also educated us on the importance of routine A/C maintenance to help prevent future problems. I really appreciated that he answered all of our questions without making us feel rushed. The entire experience, from scheduling to the repair, was excellent. It's hard to find a company that's responsive, honest, and reliable, but this one exceeded our expectations. We will definitely continue using them for all of our future heating and air conditioning needs. Highly recommend!

Extremely disappointed with Southwest HVAC…read more I called Southwest HVAC in April to have my AC serviced before summer because I have a newborn at home and wanted to make sure our system was reliable before the hot weather hit. I specifically took the initiative to have the unit maintained ahead of time because keeping my family comfortable and safe was a priority. During that visit, Southwest HVAC charged me $1,000 for a capacitor and a hard-start kit. I thought the price was extremely high, but I agreed to pay it because I trusted that I was paying for professional service and, more importantly, peace of mind that my AC would be ready for the summer. Fast-forward ONLY FIVE MONTHS and my AC won't even turn on. Naturally, I called Southwest HVAC expecting them to stand behind the work they had performed just five months earlier. Instead, I was told I would have to pay another $100 diagnostic fee just for them to come out and look at the system. That's what I find completely unacceptable. You charged me $1,000 to service and repair my AC, and less than five months later the system isn't even turning on--and your response is essentially, "Pay us another $100 and we'll take a look." If you are going to charge customers premium prices for HVAC work, I expect a reasonable level of accountability when the equipment fails shortly after you serviced it. I shouldn't have to pay another fee simply to find out whether the work I already paid you $1,000 for was done properly or whether the components you installed have failed. The timing is especially frustrating because I specifically had this work done BEFORE summer precisely so I wouldn't end up in this situation. I have a newborn in the house, and now I'm dealing with a non-functioning AC in the middle of summer after paying this company $1,000 for service only five months ago. $1,000 in April. AC completely dead in September. Another $100 just to get someone to diagnose it. That is not what I consider good customer service, and it certainly isn't what I expected when I paid Southwest HVAC to service my system. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion and comparing prices before giving this company your business. Based on my experience, I am extremely dissatisfied with both the service and the way they handled the situation afterward.

We've loved having central air every single second today nearly 7 years later I needed to have the coolant line and some gas lines moved about 4 feet over pr because we're doing a remodel. The technician Malachi came out and after doing some EXCELLENT work, he told me that he was the one that originally ran everything seven years ago and then he's been working there for 20 years. I don't know how you can do any better than that. EXCELLENT craftsmanship competitive prices what more can ask for??!! Thanks Jose!!!

After we moved into our new home, he…read morecame out and did a thorough assessment of our HVAC system, which had several issues: asbestos insulation, leaky and crushed ducts, an undersized 2.5-ton condenser, and an aging furnace. He clearly explained what was going on and laid out multiple options, including just replacing the ductwork or doing a full system install. What stood out was how honest and non-pushy he was. He took the time to educate me and let me make the decision without any pressure. I initially leaned toward just replacing the ducts, but ultimately chose a full system replacement for long-term reliability and peace of mind. Orlando and his crew worked hard and were very professional throughout the install. They walked me through the new system, explained each component, answered all my questions, and made sure everything was running properly end to end. They also corrected issues with the previous condensate line, handled permits, and were flexible with financing options. Overall, a great experience. I would highly recommend Orlando and Shalom HVAC.

Their office scheduled an appointment for Saturday around noon, and Enrique came to check out my AC which wasn't blowing cold air anymore. He was very friendly, professional, and offered a lot of advice about how to take care of my AC unit as he discovered and replaced my damaged capacitor. The job took less than 15 minutes overall, arranged payment, then the service was complete! Blizzard was reliable, responsive, offers good service, and pricing was very fair. I enjoyed their work and will be relying on them in the future for all my HVAC needs!

We called, and the next day Luis Rodas, project manager, came to inspect the house. He explained our options for the size and location of the units, and after a few days we settled on a plan and a start date. Reliable AC takes good equipment and skilled labor, so it isn't cheap, but Blizzard's pricing is fair. Alfonso and Angel arrived with their equipment and got right to work. They clearly had plenty of experience with the surprises that come with electrical work, refrigerant lines, and drip hoses. With occasional help from two other crew members, they finished the mini-splits in three days at the end of August. We now have two condensers outside and three indoor units. Two months later we've tested both cooling and heating and everything is working just fine. The L.A. Dept. of Building & Safety inspector approved the installation. We've submitted the LADWP rebate forms and are hoping to get some cash back.

Hector was the first to send me a flat-rate quote; he was straightforward and told me explicitly that his service included a vacuum and a pressure test. In contrast, the other companies kept asking me questions--and, without even being on-site yet--were already telling me that my system required additional services. I reached back out to Hector, and we closed the deal. On the day of the job, he arrived right on time with his team. He quickly entered my property, verified that all connections were secure, went up into the attic to ensure everything was in order, and even took the time to insulate some exposed pipes--all at no extra cost. In less than 40 minutes, my system was running perfectly, and I was left with a smile. I highly recommend this company; I feel they are honest, and their service is excellent.

They were punctual, professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly thorough from start to finish. Everything was explained clearly, the work was done exceptionally well, and they truly went above and beyond. We also had a few unexpected hiccups unrelated to their work, and they were incredibly accommodating. They worked around those issues and our busy schedule and still delivered exactly as promised. It's rare to find a professional like Kyle who is this knowledgeable, respectful, and genuinely committed to doing things right. He and his team are exceptional, and I would have absolutely no hesitation recommending them to anyone. If you're looking for HVAC or AC work, look no further.
