Had several great experiences at Dr. Borgfeld's office. Super friendly staff and was able to help me with all my needs.

After my beloved PCP retired/moved out of state, I decided to try Bridlewood Family Healthcare due…read moreto proximity to home and because my prior PCP had stated that my medical records would be transferred there. The front desk staff was nice and the MAs friendly. They apologized and thanked me when I mentioned that I found a 6 day old urine sample in the restroom. Dr. Glaser was not friendly towards me. My visit was to be a new patient physical. He did not engage or try to get to know me at all. My face to face time with him was less than 10 minutes, and the only thing memorable that he said was that my insurance might not pay for my updated tetanus shot (they did). I went downstairs to do lab work and was there for about 30 minutes when they finally realized that Dr. Glaser did not order lab work because I had done lab work 7 months prior. Fairly certain that lab work is part of a physical...but whatever. I had already made up my mind that this man would not be my new PCP. A PCP should be warm and engaging, and someone who will listen to their patients when they are concerned about something - Dr. Glaser checked none of these boxes. Fast forward a few weeks later to the billing nightmare that followed, my insurance covers an annual physical (including the lab work he wouldn't order) 100%...but the first bill was coded as a new patient appointment, but they left the physical off. So I had to call the office about this...they made my patient responsibility $0 in their system, but then rebilled my insurance company with duplicate charges and overbilled by almost triple. I decided to call BCBS directly since I had yet to find a competent individual to help me at the practice. The insurance rep told me that one of the codes used on the new bill was for a psychiatric evaluation...OMG! I explained the whole situation again, and BCBS filed a grievance and the billing did eventually get situated. I have talked to others who have noticed similar billing issues on their statements from this practice...so definitely watch your EOBs here. Unreported overbilling is sadly something that happens too often in the medical world. I have given up on ever seeing my 7+ years of medical records from my prior PCP. I am fairly certain they went into an abyss of some sort in this Bridlewood office of confusion.

But if you use the Healow app, the docs are pretty quick to respond plus your care needs are documented. I started using Bridlewood, Dr. Glaser and his staff because the last office I was at didn't listen to me. I'm diabetic and trying to find the right medication has been much trial and error but my last office brushed off my errors. So when I first started with Bridlewood, Michelle Hampton heard me and started me on my way to finding what worked. I was sad to lose Victoria Thomas but it was an easy transition back to Michelle and they really do care. I have trouble with getting medication but that's due to my insurance not the office. Michelle and her team have been in constant communication with me and are eager to help where they can. I've had nothing but a pleasant and stress free experience working with the Bridlewood staff. My one complaint would be that I never got an Amazon gift card!

Initially I…read morewas very pleased with Dr Phipps and enjoyed the one-on-one conversations during my visits. Thought I'd found a really good replacement for my previous Dr of almost 30 years. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. I recently requested a visit for lab work due to a handful of health concerns. It took them 1 month to call with results. Labcorp notified me my results were posted at their portal after 10 days. I was able to view and download the results but still needed Dr Phipps' expert opinion on most of it. I expected a call within days. If I had them, they had them. It took them three weeks to call me with results. I called and messaged during that time asking for feedback or updates on when I could expect to hear anything. I went three weeks with no response. When I did finally get a call, it was a joke. It was apparent he'd spent no time on the results and gave the nurse a few buzzwords to appease me. The labcorp results showed my bloodwork numbers from last Sept right next to the new results. When I asked what the Dr thought about the improvement (some dramatic) over the previous 6 months, I was told "oh he didn't have those in front of them". Bullshit. I had them. He had them. It was lazy and extremely disappointing. Also, during my visit Dr Phipps recommended a new Rx that he believed would be better for me when compared to what I was currently taking. Immediately there were pharmacy and insurance problems. I needed Dr Phipps to do one simple thing so I could proceed. I called and messaged repeatedly asking for his help. To this day, 5.5 weeks later, I still have not received a response to these requests. If you're looking for a family physician that will provide timely and thorough results, consistent and timely feedback/communication, and the level of "give a damn" that you'd expect from a family physician, Phipps Family Medicine is not for you!

I've been a patient at HV Family Medicine for over 10 years and have always trusted the care I…read morereceived. I even referred my 76-year-old father to them, which makes what happened recently all the more disappointing. With HV's transition to a membership-based model starting May 30th, my father scheduled a physical for May 27th. This was an important visit due to a recurring infection that required bloodwork. He followed all instructions, fasted, and even received two reminder emails instructing him to arrive at 8 a.m., fully hydrated and 15 minutes early--which he did. After waiting nearly 20 minutes in the lobby, he was called up to the front desk and informed he would not be seen because he hadn't joined the membership program. No prior call, no warning. When he asked why he wasn't notified ahead of time, no one had an answer. This appointment was before the transition date, and to turn away a 76-year-old patient with known medical issues--after he followed every instruction--felt unacceptable. It wasn't just poor communication, it was a failure of care. We expected better from a practice we once trusted and held in high regard.
