I was told by the hospital to…read morefollow up with my PCP but he moved recently and is too far for me to continue seeing him so they recommended I try and follow up with any Texas Health provider since it was all the same system and they could easily access my files. I found Dr Olivier through my insurance. I went to her website and marked that I had not been seen in that practice in the past 3 years then I selected the option for a new patient hospitalization follow up and proceeded to make myself an appointment. I received a text confirming my appointment. On the day of my appointment, I found (and paid) a babysitter to watch my son to make the appointment smoother. When I showed up, the lady at the front told me I had no appointment. I kept insisting I did (she didn't even seem interested in trying to verify anything and I had to reiterate about 3 times that I had one), so she finally asked my phone number to look it up. After giving my phone number, she told me they cancelled my appointment because they are not accepting new patients. I told her I selected new patient hospitalization follow up and she told me it didn't matter because they were not accepting new patients. I then asked why they didn't bother to let me know they cancelled my appointment, and she told me they sent me a text message. I asked what day they text and she said July 18. I checked ALL my texts and the only one I got from them that day was the one CONFIRMING my appointment. I tried to show her the text and she wouldn't even look at my phone. I asked why they text instead of calling to let them know and in a very condescending and rude tone, she said "that's just how we do things". I understand if you're not taking new patients. But if you're not, then why was I able to make a "new patient hospitalization follow up" appointment? And if it's a mistake, why are you just going to text someone saying an appointment was cancelled because they can't accept you? And then when they never got the text, why be condescending and rude instead of apologizing and trying to be helpful?! She was just so dismissive and made me feel like it was just my problem and I was the one who messed up. And for reference, I attached the text message I received. Dr Olivier might be a good doctor, I don't know. But her staff could definitely learn some kindness and etiquette. I walked a couple suites down to suite 125, which is another Texas Health PCP and the ladies there were so much more helpful and kind.

In the state I used to live in, it seemed difficult to get any treatment or medicines for any condition that was not textbook/routine. I haven't had that problem here. Everyone listens and is driven to find a solution that works for me. Dr. Pearch is surprisingly knowledgable about my medical conditions (which are neither terribly common nor unheard of, but the medical knowledge about them has evolved significantly in the past decade). I was used to being an enigma and having to be the one to stay on top of medical research, but this clinic is helpful. Or shall I say competent. They are also very compassionate, especially after I had a miscarriage and kept bursting into tears during appointments. That said, Dr. Pearch is very popular, and it might be difficult to score an appointment slot, so be prepared to see the other medical professionals at this clinic.

I finally convinced my husband to go here and he got a different doctor because he was a new patient and Dr. Pearch is usually pretty booked up. He really liked the doctor he had and will continue with her. I can't remember who he saw. I don't think you can go wrong with who you see. Even though Dr. Pearch is booked, she always has slots open for followups and things. I've never had a problem getting in to see her. The office staff has always been extremely nice and the office is very clean and easy to get to. They are close to a lab so when you need lab work you don't have to go far. I like that they use online chart system so you can quickly see your history and lab results. This might be typical or standard now but before coming here I hadn't experienced that. All of her referrals have been wonderful. I am very happy with my experiences here.

After my beloved PCP retired/moved out of state, I decided to try Bridlewood Family Healthcare due…read moreto proximity to home and because my prior PCP had stated that my medical records would be transferred there. The front desk staff was nice and the MAs friendly. They apologized and thanked me when I mentioned that I found a 6 day old urine sample in the restroom. Dr. Glaser was not friendly towards me. My visit was to be a new patient physical. He did not engage or try to get to know me at all. My face to face time with him was less than 10 minutes, and the only thing memorable that he said was that my insurance might not pay for my updated tetanus shot (they did). I went downstairs to do lab work and was there for about 30 minutes when they finally realized that Dr. Glaser did not order lab work because I had done lab work 7 months prior. Fairly certain that lab work is part of a physical...but whatever. I had already made up my mind that this man would not be my new PCP. A PCP should be warm and engaging, and someone who will listen to their patients when they are concerned about something - Dr. Glaser checked none of these boxes. Fast forward a few weeks later to the billing nightmare that followed, my insurance covers an annual physical (including the lab work he wouldn't order) 100%...but the first bill was coded as a new patient appointment, but they left the physical off. So I had to call the office about this...they made my patient responsibility $0 in their system, but then rebilled my insurance company with duplicate charges and overbilled by almost triple. I decided to call BCBS directly since I had yet to find a competent individual to help me at the practice. The insurance rep told me that one of the codes used on the new bill was for a psychiatric evaluation...OMG! I explained the whole situation again, and BCBS filed a grievance and the billing did eventually get situated. I have talked to others who have noticed similar billing issues on their statements from this practice...so definitely watch your EOBs here. Unreported overbilling is sadly something that happens too often in the medical world. I have given up on ever seeing my 7+ years of medical records from my prior PCP. I am fairly certain they went into an abyss of some sort in this Bridlewood office of confusion.

But if you use the Healow app, the docs are pretty quick to respond plus your care needs are documented. I started using Bridlewood, Dr. Glaser and his staff because the last office I was at didn't listen to me. I'm diabetic and trying to find the right medication has been much trial and error but my last office brushed off my errors. So when I first started with Bridlewood, Michelle Hampton heard me and started me on my way to finding what worked. I was sad to lose Victoria Thomas but it was an easy transition back to Michelle and they really do care. I have trouble with getting medication but that's due to my insurance not the office. Michelle and her team have been in constant communication with me and are eager to help where they can. I've had nothing but a pleasant and stress free experience working with the Bridlewood staff. My one complaint would be that I never got an Amazon gift card!

I truly think about before any reviews since I know it does affect a business or company but every once in awhile it is deserve and must be out there to also help other people pick a better place. Take it however you will... Have seen this doctor 3x and my husband once. All appointments were the same "Nice to meet you." She never remembers that I've seen her already. She doesn't listen to your whole story and her tone implies you're not telling the truth. Everytime we came here(yes even my husband) whatever our symptoms she say it acid reflux/heart burn and gives prescription for it. Flags: - never remembered me -my husband said rude and doesn't seem to be knowledgeable after one visit and said he's never going back -diagnosis for acid reflux/heartburn and given medication for two different appointments with 2 different symptoms. -doesn't actively listen. Cuts you off while you're talking. Today again, She's unprofessional and didn't show any care for a patient. She fails to listen , she'll ask a question and before you can even finish telling your issues, she just interrupts. She lacks the ability to be an active listener. It's unfortunate because the front desk personnel are always professional and courteous a characteristic that she lacks. I know ow question her ability as a doctor and yes I agree with my husband. I will never back here again. I don't even know why I tried again today. Worst experience worst doctor ever. Will never come back here and definitely NOT recommend this place to anyone if you want a dependable and sympathetic physician.

Unfortunately that wasn't the case. I recently requested a visit for lab work due to a handful of health concerns. It took them 1 month to call with results. Labcorp notified me my results were posted at their portal after 10 days. I was able to view and download the results but still needed Dr Phipps' expert opinion on most of it. I expected a call within days. If I had them, they had them. It took them three weeks to call me with results. I called and messaged during that time asking for feedback or updates on when I could expect to hear anything. I went three weeks with no response. When I did finally get a call, it was a joke. It was apparent he'd spent no time on the results and gave the nurse a few buzzwords to appease me. The labcorp results showed my bloodwork numbers from last Sept right next to the new results. When I asked what the Dr thought about the improvement (some dramatic) over the previous 6 months, I was told "oh he didn't have those in front of them". Bullshit. I had them. He had them. It was lazy and extremely disappointing. Also, during my visit Dr Phipps recommended a new Rx that he believed would be better for me when compared to what I was currently taking. Immediately there were pharmacy and insurance problems. I needed Dr Phipps to do one simple thing so I could proceed. I called and messaged repeatedly asking for his help. To this day, 5.5 weeks later, I still have not received a response to these requests. If you're looking for a family physician that will provide timely and thorough results, consistent and timely feedback/communication, and the level of "give a damn" that you'd expect from a family physician, Phipps Family Medicine is not for you!
