I even referred my 76-year-old father to them, which makes what happened recently all the more disappointing. With HV's transition to a membership-based model starting May 30th, my father scheduled a physical for May 27th. This was an important visit due to a recurring infection that required bloodwork. He followed all instructions, fasted, and even received two reminder emails instructing him to arrive at 8 a.m., fully hydrated and 15 minutes early--which he did. After waiting nearly 20 minutes in the lobby, he was called up to the front desk and informed he would not be seen because he hadn't joined the membership program. No prior call, no warning. When he asked why he wasn't notified ahead of time, no one had an answer. This appointment was before the transition date, and to turn away a 76-year-old patient with known medical issues--after he followed every instruction--felt unacceptable. It wasn't just poor communication, it was a failure of care. We expected better from a practice we once trusted and held in high regard.

(When was the last time you smiled while being poked in the arm with a needle?) I've been in three times over the past year, (Blood pressure issue, nail in foot and a full physical.) They work with your schedule and make time to get you in. I haven't had a long wait yet, and feel they spend the right amount of time asking questions and going over concerns. The front staff was excellent both when I called and came in for the appointment. They were very fast, friendly, and efficient. They did have my birthday in the system incorrect and it seemed like it stumped them when I asked that they fix it. I literally only waited maybe ten minutes before being called back. It was the shortest wait I ever experienced and that was awesome! The nurse that did the initial stuff was very professional and friendly. I was a little grossed out when I had to give a urine sample and opened the little door to place my pee cup and there was already one in there! Gross - I don't want to see or almost touch someone else's pee cup! Dr. Sone was excellent. very friendly, professional, and funny. He did complain a little about having to fill out paperwork for my insurance company. That's part of being the Doc there buddy! He was thorough with the wellness exam though and that was reassuring. The reason they did not get more stars is because after my bloodwork came back they did absolutely nothing. I never got a call back to explain anything. All they did was just send me a letter with a bunch of numbers I didn't understand, a generic list of ways to lower my cholesterol, and a note advising a follow up in 6 months. For a new younger patient with high cholesterol I would have expected a little more explanation. Overall this place was okay. I will continue to go here because I do like the staff and the promptness of their service.

Dr. Sone is always up to date on the latest info. He monitors my prescripts and tweaks them as…read moreneeded. He referred me to a specialist and that Dr., Maxwell diagnosed the issue and made changes that instantly greatly improved my life! Dr. Sone also caught something in my bloodwork that resulted in my early treatment of cancer. He is easygoing and easy to talk to. I like that he is a straight shooter. His office also receives high marks. He has been my doctor for 25 years.

She is truly a caring person who believes in preventive medicine is best rather than deal with a problem after it becomes an illness! My husband and I were looking for a new doctor for us and our teenager we saw great reviews about…read morecustomer service so my husband scheduled a new appointment and I went with him to see if this was the new doctor for all of us. we came from krum they scheduled my husband's appointment for early morning again coming from krum we got stuck in traffic and our GPS said we would be 8 minutes late for his appointment. we call the facility to let them know they said they only allow a 10 minute grace period when most doctors offer a 15 minute one. we literally ran inside to make it only 8 minutes late the lady at the front desk made eye contact with me when we walked in and she got out of her chair and walked off leaving us there to wait. at this time more people started coming in also. the front desk lady came back to her chair. and asked how she could help when we told her we were there for our appointment she told us we were now 10 minutes late and ask if we wanted to wait 20 more minutes to see a different provider there or we could reschedule she just lost business from my family and we will look elsewhere I would give 0 stars of it was available

Everyone listens and is driven to find a solution that works for me. Dr. Pearch is surprisingly knowledgable about my medical conditions (which are neither terribly common nor unheard of, but the medical knowledge about them has evolved significantly in the past decade). I was used to being an enigma and having to be the one to stay on top of medical research, but this clinic is helpful. Or shall I say competent. They are also very compassionate, especially after I had a miscarriage and kept bursting into tears during appointments. I finally convinced my husband to go here and he got a different doctor because he was a new patient and Dr. Pearch is usually pretty booked up. He really liked the doctor he had and will continue with her. I can't remember who he saw. I don't think you can go wrong with who you see. Even though Dr. Pearch is booked, she always has slots open for followups and things. I've never had a problem getting in to see her. The office staff has always been extremely nice and the office is very clean and easy to get to. They are close to a lab so when you need lab work you don't have to go far. I like that they use online chart system so you can quickly see your history and lab results. This might be typical or standard now but before coming here I hadn't experienced that. All of her referrals have been wonderful. I am very happy with my experiences here.

However, then HV Family Medicine changed their method of charging for services and became a Concierge type practice. They wanted me to pony up $2,500 each year just for the honor of receiving their care. I'm on Medicare but thats not why I didn't join their COSTCO-type practice. I can afford that extra cost but it is the principle of the matter. Why would a medical practice do such a thing? Was it the new blood of doctors that voted for this? If this is a trend, there will be fewer places for older American to go for their medical care.
