    Delicious Craft Beer.

Great beer choices. Great Homebrew supply selection. Always some entertainment happening and almost every night a food truck. Just wished they opened earlier on Fridays and the weekends.

Amazing little local bottle shop and brewery. Totally caters to locals, but makes everyone feel welcome. I tried nine of their house beers and love them all. Very good selection of North Carolina and national craft brews. By far, the best part was the service. The guy working at the bar had great recommendations, was extremely friendly, and knows his stuff. I recommend this place to anyone in the new Bern area that is looking for drinks and good conversation. Awesome place!

Love this place! Stop by and see one of the wonderful team members for fun conversation and have a pint of any of the outstanding in-house beers on tap, grab a six-pack from the wall to go, or pick up your home brew supplies! They do really fun music bingo nights, wine tasting events and have live music on weekends with food trucks too. Also dog friendly!

I absolutely loved going back to Brutopia for my second craft beer experience. The first time I went I had greatly enjoyed a few specials brews that they had on tap, but this time around I switched things up. I'm glad to see that Lisa is still working there! I walked into Brütopia and there were a few smiling faces in there excited to get their craft beer game on. I was happy to see that they had a cranberry gose wheat bear, because it ended up being my favorite choice in my flight! By the way, this joint also sells growers if you're interested in taking any of their beer home. They carry different North Carolina beers on tap, and they also sell a huge variety of cans and bottles from all over the Carolinas. I enjoyed looking at all the members mugs because that meant that there were some truly dedicated beer drinkers there. I also tried the heavy IPA that they have on draft, and something called the RBF which was amazing. Not to mention Brütopia also has an outdoor seating as Rea for guests to hang out with their pets. Enjoy your brews!

Great little place. Will be back! Great beers on tap and on their bottle wall. Can get growlers and pints to go!

Feels like I'm home drinking. Except my annoying family isn't present to ruin it. I love this place. I'd live here if they let me.

They're adjoined with the Tryon Palace visitor center right there in downtown New Bern, so likely they're convenient for you. They have a decent, slightly obstructed view of the water but you can walk about 50 feet and be right on it. There is a large private parking lot, so no worries on that either. In general, the sandwiches there are darn good, and the few sides we tried (dill potato salad, and their pasta salad) were excellent. My reuben on marbled rye was straight up delicious, and you order yours based on how much meat you want on it. They use Boar's Head meats here, which while I think sometimes that is overblown, you can count on that level of quality. The thing though is this, it's gonna be a pricey lunch. They are full service, so count on tipping. Their prices for sandwiches are higher than what I'm accustomed to, even with my standards adjusted for the current life of everything be expensive that we live in in 2026. Chalk that up to waterfront dining and high rent I would imagine. In any case, if the sandwich didn't live up to the price, I wouldn't give it a 5. Tasted great, service was excellent, overall a very enjoyable lunch. Would return!

Our server Ridley, came to the table promptly, answered our questions and took our orders. Our drinks came quickly and were always full. The food arrived soon after our orders were placed. The presentation of our meals was terrific. Three diners in our party ordered the Fish Tacos and one got the Fish and Chips. It would be an understatement to say the servings were seriously generous. The fish & chips came 3 large fried fish filets and a heaping of seasoned fries. The taco orders each had 3 full vs mini sized soft tacos overflowing with fish filets...the fish was legit spilling out over both ends of the tacos! The fish was lightly battered, nicely seasoned and fried to perfection. The quantity of the food was so generous, only one of us could finish our meal!! On our way out, we stopped and spoke with the manager Kelsey. She is the spirit behind the "the new and improved" Persimmon's ethos. She took no credit for the changes or improvements and instead placed our exemplary experience squarely at the feet of her employees! It's obvious she's a wonderful, caring leader of the Persimmon's team. Cheers to Kelsey, Ridley and the Persimmon's crew!

I'm so disappointed with Persimmons on the Waterfront, in New Bern…read more First, the good things: I love that they sell local art in the waiting area, secondly, I love sitting out on the deck. There was a nice breeze off the Neuse, even though it's 86° right now you don't know that because they have these nice shades and there's a nice breeze coming off the water. So what I didn't like first: I feel the menu was really limited, I can get around that, but the red flag right off the bat was their fish tacos and their fish and chips are made with "white fish" I figured they it was gonna be tilapia or something equally horrible. When I asked the what fish it was he said it was Pangasius, which the waiter described as similar to flounder and I also overheard another waiter. Say the same thing to somebody sitting near me so that's the spiel they're told to tell people who ask what kind of fish. I suggest that you look it up. It's Farm raised and not in very clean environment usually... I never eat tilapia and this is actually one rung below tilapia. I wasn't going to get fish. I ended up getting a burger which I normally don't get at a restaurant, but I ordered my burger, medium rare and the waiter said, "We don't do that. We either do pink or not pink." They tried to tell me it was a health department regulation. Nope! Other than fast food like McDonald's and Wendy's and such I've never been to a restaurant especially a supposedly fine dining restaurant where you couldn't order your burger, medium, well medium, medium-rare or rare. I said, try to make it less than just pink please. Then when I cut into my burger. It was well done. Maybe the exact center was slightly pink, but that was just one bite worth. I'm very disappointed, but I have to tell you I would be back just to be able to have the same glass of wine. It was a white wine, a dry white wine from Spain and the appetizer of brussels sprouts while sitting out on the patio, it was a nice experience for that but not for a meal.
