It's small but a nice spot to spend under an hour. Also finding the entrance was hard because google maps takes you to the wrong main gate.

Because they are working with important stuff pertaining to national security, nuclear materials and other top secret stuff, they won't let the average Yelper in there. But, right outside their front gate is the Discovery Center. The Discovery Center is a small museum that gives you a brief introduction to the lab and what they do. They have hands on and interactive exhibits for children to play with. Most of the exhibits were well maintained. It is an interesting way to spend an hour. The staff, at least on the day were there, was fantastic. Since we were the only ones there, she almost gave us a personalized tour to explain some of the exhibits and talk about the lab and what they do. They have an easy scavenger hunt for children with a nice t-shirt as a prize. They are pretty generous with the scavenger hunt and let children of all ages play. The museum is priced just right for most Yelpers. It is free! It's a nice place, with not a lot of visitors.

Purchased tickets ($20) included 2 drink tickets per ticket for wine or beer. There is also a designated 21 and over drinking area (pours stop 1 hour before festival ends), which is also where the live bands play. The street festival is situated along First Street and there are various vendors, local Livermore stores lining the street. There is a food truck area, and an area for the kids to play. There is also no need to purchase a ticket, as it's not checked to enter, and is only good if you want to drink beer or wine. If you're into drinking cocktails there are restaurants and bars also along the main route of the festival.

This year was fairly hot, but they had plenty of hydration stations. And if I recall those big blue water coolers they use, they're from the ones they use for the Livermore Half Marathon. But enough about water, lets get to the booze. You can either purchase your beer or wine package online at a cheaper price, or you can just purchase it there for about $40. You'll either receive a cheap plastic beer mug for beers obviously. Or you get real stemless wine glass with the festival label on it. Yep, plastic or glass take your pick, lol. As we arrived, I wasn't expecting a lot of people, but there were. You pretty much walk the main downtown streets of Livermore, and browse the vendors along the way. Stop by the wine or beer stations and slosh your way through. Just kidding, I don't slosh anymore. The festival does stretch along both 1st and 2nd St, so wear comfortable shoes. The local vineyards, like Concannon, Cuda Ridge, Wente, and Steven Kent all represented. And they all seemed to wanna serve reds, especially pinot noir. Some vineyards I've never heard of, yet none really stood out. As for the beers, it seems like if you've been to one beer fest, you've been to them all. I chose not to drink beer in the heat, as I would also much rather chill at a local microbrew than deal with the beer lines. Now for the entertainment. There were a few DJ's spinning to keep the music flowin'. But they also had three sections for live music. And man, some of those bands were simply fantastic! As I grabbed my afternoon coffee from Panama Red, I enjoyed watching this group called The Uptown Six. They perform some excellent covers! Overall, I can't say that I hated this festival, but I also can't say that I loved it as well. For the sake of supporting local businesses, would probably be the only reason for me to attend next year. But unfortunately, nothing really hooked me to want to come back either.

She came into my home with dozens of options, hanging canvas's up on my wall where I was able to study them, take a picture and feel the art in the space - then - all of a sudden, I turn around after she has put another two pieces up and WOW that's it. I would have never picked what I picked in any store - but seeing on my wall in MY living room - I knew - it spoke to me, and that was it. The framer came shortly after, framed it perfectly and it's now hanging on my wall. Do you know how many pictures and how much time I would have had to lug in my car and put up each piece only to probably return it and start all over again? Too many hours to count - too many holes in my wall - too many trips to countless stores. Noa is awesome, talented, warm, friendly and honest about what works and what doesn't AND there is no pressure. It's free for her to come and take a test drive of art in your home! Highly recommend!

The paintings she recommended were perfect for each room and what was especially valuable was her suggestions for optimizing the space. We already made a couple of the changes she mentioned and it has really elevated the room! Her style is very personable without feeling like too much of a "sales pitch". Her framer was also punctual and efficient, and available just a couple days after we bought the art. Would definitely recommend Noa's Art to any new home owners looking to create a beautiful space!
