The Brunswick manor is a lovely place to stay when it comes to a bed and breakfast. Having seen it on the travel channel with its extreme Christmas tree I knew I wanted to make the trip. Exceptional decorations and truly lovely antique furniture, you know you are in a grand home. Breakfast served beautifully on china in the dining room. Uncomfortable bed which is to be expected as I have found at most bed and breakfast places we have stayed at. But nevertheless worth a visit to

Fun time, great hospitality and yummy food. Stayed in the Downing suite and the bed, bedding and pillows were all very comfortable. There was plenty of. Loser space, sitting area to get ready, unique, fun and interesting decor all through out the house. Rusty gave good recommendations and was very accommodating to requests. There's also free drinks, non and alcoholic, lots of different sitting areas outside and Henry the cat! :) There's a lot of history in the area and overall I highly recommend a visit here and to the surrounding islands/area. I'm hound and like to explore and have fun, this was a great balance of things to see, drinks and live music, beaches, restaurants, history and shopping. Staying here completed the experience!

Do not stay here! If you like dirty bedding, concrete like mattresses and bad food this is your place! Upon arrival the outside and inside of the building was picturesque however upon closer inspection of the room we rented, the bedding was dirty (top sheet, fitted sheet as well as mattress protector). Even after changing the pillowcases, they stunk of sweat. We tried to shower and only half of the water pressure came out of the shower head and the rest came from the spout causing an uncomfortable shower experience. When we moved the magazines on the chaise in front of the bed we noticed that they were strategically placed to hide the stains. The next morning our breakfast consisted of hard biscuits and sour fruit. After notifying them of everything they stopped responding to my request for a refund of the nights we didn't stay. Do not trust this B&B with your time or your money. NOT WORTH IT!

Historic. Great location. Innkeeper Tracy was fabulous. She helped me with all of my requests. We loved the gardens and koi pond. We enjoyed chatting with the other guests over wine in the evening and eating breakfast together in the morning. The breakfast was superb. We stayed in the Cumberland room which had a king size bed, which was very comfortable, and private bathroom.

We stayed in the downing room and it was filled with all types of antiques and pictures of dogs in formal dress.

When I woke up and entered the dining room their dining room table was empty , there was not a single bun, roll, cookies or bread. The only thing on the table was a plate with tiny mandarin orange slices that tasted like they just got it from a can with all the preservative juices with it and topped off with a dab of yogurt. Both owners sat down at the table in front of me and made it very uncomfortable because they decided to start asking me questions and not really giving me time to eat. When I was done with the sweet gross orange slices they brought out this hockey puck of a thing that was made with scrambled eggs and some gross partly frozen beef or corn hash? It was topped off with a Mexican salsa. While I was trying to force down this gross egg dish one of the owners asked me " were ya from " and I answered Florida. I was originally born in NJ and try to stay away from the people in the south who are still a bit confederate. After talking for a few more minutes the same owner asked me " no, where are you really from" I said originally from NJ and fortunately it was time to leave. After he asked the second time it got uncomfortable and here I am telling these two owners why I don't tell people in the south I'm from NJ because some people still hold on to this civil war thing and have not evolved. When I left this place I went to work and I was working in an event for the town. I saw one of the B&B owners at the event and turns out he works for the town. He was a jerk and wouldn't even say hello to me after I said hello to him. Overall, not respectful and these air B&Bs in the United States need to learn from British B&Bs. Leave people alone, let them eat and put some damn buns on the table.

We walked into the lobby, which smelled clean but when we greeted the front desk clerk, he didn't say anything. He continued to type on his computer for his minute and then asked what we needed help with. It was a little awkward for a check in exchange but we got our room key and went upstairs. For any review stating the elevator ride was a little bumpy, that does the experience of the elevator a disservice. The jolt the elevator does each time it reaches your floor is enough to make you feel like you accidentally stepped onto the Tower of Terror. Very unpleasant and scary. We got into our room and first off, it smelled like stale takeout food. The fixtures and decor were not well maintained. We went to call down to the front desk to ask about a couple extra towels for our family but the phone wasn't plugged in. Only half of the switches for the lights worked. The refrigerator wobbled. The bathroom mirror frame was scuffed up and there was a huge rust stain in the tub. The water pressure in the shower was abysmal, the showerhead was low, and anyone taller than 5'8" is going to have a hard time with it. Our room was handicap accessible but the extent of access was a portable chair for you to put into the very normal, not large or lower-lipped tub. But perhaps the final straw for us was the fact that we gave our kid a quick shower and a short time later when it was time to get into bed, the bottoms of her feet were dirty to the point that we had to wipe our feet off with wipes before getting into bed. Lastly, the breakfast. We know it's complementary but it kind of feels like it's not even worth that much when everything from milk to eggs to forks and spoons were out. They had one employee who seemed to be responsible for both the front desk and replenishing the breakfast area. It took a few minutes for us to even see where she was to ask for some forks and spoons and when she did, all she said was "I'm coming." She didn't seem too happy to be there though honestly we couldn't blame her. 0/10, would not recommend.

It's located directly across the street from the historic lighthouse and museum. It's close to the beach, pier, and many popular shops, restaurants, and bars. Everything is within walking distance. This is an old and quaint hotel that feels almost like a bed and breakfast. It's a "condo hotel" where many of the rooms are owned by different people. Therefore, each of the rooms is unique and no two rooms are alike. Some rooms are nicer than others. We stayed in room 102, which is right next to the front desk, office, and lobby restroom. If I had known this, I probably would have selected a different room. The door, walls, floor, ceiling, etc. do not insulate sound well, so we heard everything. We heard people checking in, checking out, walking through the hallways, turning on the sink upstairs, turning on the bathtub/shower upstairs, and most of all, people opening and shutting the door to the office next door. One morning, while getting ready, I was able to clearly hear an entire conversation of two people who had stopped to chat outside our door. Our room had basic amenities. We had a small kitchen area with a sink, microwave, and fridge. There was no closet, but an armoire. I think many rooms were like this. There was a sticky substance on the floor in front of the kitchen sink that was there when we arrived. It was never cleaned during our stay. There were also chocolate chips underneath our bed. The bedspread seemed a bit tattered and musty. The furniture in the room was generally worn. My allergies acted up during our stay inside and I'm not sure what it was (e.g. dust or mold). I visited other rooms and they were not like our room. They felt bigger, brighter, and cleaner. They also had better views. I recommend booking a room on the second floor. Our room only had a view of an adjacent slanted rooftop. Basic rooms start at about $175 per night after taxes and fees. This is expensive, but you are paying for one of the most prime locations on the island. There was cable TV, but unfortunately no HD. There was free Internet Wi-Fi and it was decently fast. No password required, which was nice. The cord on our phone was about to break at one end, so if I did not hold it in place, calls would be extremely staticky. Cell phone reception is poor at the hotel. My friends and I had AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile and none of us had more than 1-2 bars. The signal gets better outside. Outside, there's covered parking, which is a plus. There's also a small pool. Inside, the lobby is small. The front desk has a water dispenser. Over our weekend stay, the dispenser ran dry twice and wasn't refilled. Coffee is available too. Continental breakfast is served between 7am and 10am, but I didn't get the opportunity to try it. The breakfast area is tiny. During my stay, I often thought of what Anthony Melchiorri of Travel Channel's Hotel Impossible would say. The staff was very nice and polite, from the front desk folks to the housekeeping ladies.
