My wife and I stayed here over Labor Day weekend. It was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast and I must say that if all bed breakfast's are like this I probably won't be staying at a hotel again. Our hosts(?) were so welcoming, and the level of hospitality almost made me feel like I was a kid staying at my grandma's house - and I mean that in the nicest way possible. Anything we needed they were there to get it, or point us in the direction of where we could find it. They even invited us to a party they were hosting for the Kentucky Derby. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way since all but one other guest we saw over the weekend was a returning guest. Definitely recommend this place if you are staying anywhere near the area, you will more than get your money's worth. read more

Trouvaille! I planned a weekend getaway for my boyfriend and I out in GA. Originally, I was looking into hotels but none were cute enough or provided the vibe that I was aiming for. Fortunately, I was patient and happened to stumble upon this gem. I've never stayed in a bed & breakfast before but this place has set the bar for all bed & breakfast moving forward. JoAnn & Dave were such great host! I am so thankful and appreciative of their hospitality. Let's start with the inn! First of all it was absolutely beautiful and located in the quaint little historic town of Darien, GA. The inn has a cute coastal theme which was nicely done. It had the perfect combination of southern charm and modern simplicity to it if that makes any sense. It was absolutely beautiful & so clean. So, so, so clean! I was afraid to touch or do anything because I didn't want to dirty anything. They have 5 bedrooms available all of which have their own bathrooms and shared balcony or patio which a beautiful view of the water and greenery that sits in their back yard. There are willow trees along the side of the house that adds that romantic charm to the entire place. Breakfast was served every morning and you can help yourself to coffee and water. They also offer beer and wine but you're more than welcome to bring your own if you'd like. In the upstairs rooms, they have a shared refrigerator you can use to store any food or beverages as well as glasses and wine glasses to use. There is a nearby market which local town finds and plenty of historical areas to visit within walking distance to the inn. Our room was great! The bed was phenomenal! It was actually better than my bed at home and my boyfriend and slept like babies it was so comfortable. The room is equipped with a smart TV so you can log in to your Netflix account if you wanted to have a Netflix & chill night in during your stay. There is a overhead fan as well as AC but during our visit the weather was perfect so there wasn't much need for the AC. If I ever find myself in Georgia again, I will most definitely stay here again. It was such an amazing experience and I truly enjoyed JoAnn and Dave's company. I highly recommend this place! This place is fabulous!!!! I have stayed here twice. The deck over looks the marsh and is a few steps from Skippers, which is great seafood restaurant and bar. There are great shops in walking distance. The B&B serves sweet potato pancakes that are worth the stay. It is a bargain too. Rooms are clean and comfy!!! The owner is a joy too. Well worth the 10 minute delay off I-95 to enjoy the clean comfort and exquisite views across the marsh lands and catching a shrimp boat or two in or outbound. Darien Waterfront Inn may not be everybody's cuppa tea. If you just love clusters of motels right next to I-95, and you like the comfort of knowing it's a chain motel you're sleeping in, this might not be for you. You only have to drive an extra couple of miles to sleep in a B&B overlooking the Darien River, a B&B that serves sweet potato pancakes with bacon and hot coffee the next morning. This place is not fancy but it is friendly, cozy and clean. The town of Darien has streets lined with huge oak trees, Spanish moss canopies and delicious seafood at Skipper's Seafood Restaurant, just across the parking lot, also on the water. There is also a really cool wine and cheese bar a couple of doors down from the Inn that you have to visit. There is a city dock where you can park your boat free for 48 hrs. So, slow down a bit and give this place a try. read more

Darien Waterfront Inn is a great place to stay if you like quaint, quiet, cozy small inns in a beautiful historical setting. My husband and I stayed one night in the Sea Glass room. We ate next door at the Skipper's Fish Camp which had very fresh shrimp and good pork BBQ. We watched the sunset over the inlet and we checked out the huge live oak dripping with Spanish moss. It was a relaxing evening on a trip from Raleigh to Destin, Fl. It is a great halfway destination. read more

Great gem in the outer bank of the Georgia coast. Conveniently located near St. Simons and Jekyll without all the traffic. Great breakfast, comfortable beds. The innkeeper goes out of her way to provide for her guests while allowing them the tranquility they need. Darien is a quaint little town many might not know about buy should check out. Spectacular place. Pristine clean and super friendly staff. Beautifully appointed. Not too fussy. Clean lines and soothing colors. Very restful. At our age a comfy bed is super important and it was. The place has been around a while but it's moved to a new location. DON'T trust yelp! Best to call for directions. This is a B&B. The owners were leaving for some R&R themselves.(everybody needs a break) so the breakfast wasn't quite as elaborate as I had read about but just as delicious. I look forward to potato pancakes on my next trip. Just a refuse in the marshes that is a must see! Loved it!! read more

My sister and I stayed at the new Darien Waterfront Inn last week and were delighted. JoAnn Viera, our host, has decorated the brand new Inn with the impeccable taste she demonstrated at the previous location. It was beautiful in addition to soothing and relaxing. I wish I would have had more time to relax on the porch. JoAnn has created an atmosphere that definitely welcomes you.
