I, Lance H. Henderson, Patricia A. Henderson and Patricia M. Henderson would like to report Bruno Air for false advertising, fraud, forgery, misinformation, shoddy workmanship, omitting pertinent information, overcharging by over 4 times the average cost of an air conditioning system that was partially installed on Saturday, November 3rd, 2018 at our home. The air handler serial number even brings up a different brand than what the sticker represents. Louis Bruno removes the Goodman name off the air handler and condensing unit and puts a new sticker with his logo as Louis Bruno Signature Series. We found this out by a second company that estimated half the price for the same work. Also, the serial numbers on the unit doesn't match whats on the estimate sheet that Louis Bruno emailed me on November 2nd 2018. We are not satisfied with the incomplete work as seen in photos taken, November 5th, 2018. This is the same day it was signed off as completed by Bruno Air. There are ducts and drywall that was not sealed, ducts that covered most of our personal belongings in the attic and many other items that were left undone. Some of the old duct boxes and flex duct were also left in the attic. Yet they falsely signed off to the financing company YGRENE Pace program as a completed job. Even their own executive agreed that this job was in NO WAY complete. We feel that we were misinformed on the pricing of $38,745.00, which is way more than we would have ever been comfortable paying. We were rushed to make a decision by a very pushy, very well versed sales man and given false information in regards to the financing. Our credit was pulled without permission which caused a decrease in our credit score by a financing company called GreenSky with a loan amount of $25,000. YGRENE were used which the sales rep Dustin wouldn't disclose the allotted total dollar amount that YGRENE approved us the for. This company's owner (Louis Bruno) even lied by showing a fake text message he claimed he received from the other company's representative and he even called a ex employee of Best Homes Services that now is working for Bruno Air to indicates that Best Homes Services would charge the same amount of $38,000. This was confirmed to be false and this company's representative is not happy that his name was used under false pretense. This company needs to be stopped from taking advantage of people. Evidently, they have been getting away with this for years. We have recordings of our conversations available. We have photos of the incomplete work and we have copies of a forged signature. We were told by an executive of Bruno Air that they would match the second estimate the night before last and this afternoon the owner thought he would try to push his weight around instead. We are convinced that not one of the representatives of Bruno Air understands what is or how to tell the truth. It seems that they are taught a very strict script at "Bruno University". We have been threatened with a law suit, and even with foreclosure which is what crooks do when they have been exposed. Grasp for whatever excuse, threat they can. We pay our mortgage on time every month and can show proof, so threatening us with foreclosure is just a insult to our intelligence. We hope no one else gets scammed of their hard earned money. Bruno installed a new AC unit in our condo in November 2015. They had to return a couple of times to make corrections in order to pass inspection. In August of 2016, due to an installation error (according to their technician) the unit located in the attic, malfunctioned and caused a leak through the ceiling. While the unit was repaired, no one at Bruno would respond to my repeated phone messages and emails as to the required repair to my ceiling. Eventually, I gave up and paid for the repair myself. I should have known better, but on May 11, 2017, I called Bruno because the AC unit wasn't working. They sent a salesman / technician who determines that the refrigerant is low. He doesn't even look at the unit in the attic, but quickly advises there is likely a leak in either the coil in the air handler (attic), or in the compressor (outside). It's possible there is a leak in the line between the coil and compressor, but it is only about 10 yrs old and not likely. He requires an up front payment of $1,322.50, so that someone else can come later and add refrigerant and a dye to be used to determine the leak. he advises that the cost for the dye and any unused refrigerant will be credited against the final repair, whatever that is. When pushed for an answer on the potential for the final repair cost, he indicated that it most likely be in excess of $2,000 to $2,500. I then called to receive a second opinion from another HVAC company, referred to me from a friend. He came out within an hour and one half. That technician had a portable meter that is used to detect refrigerant leaks. They tested for leaks both in the attic (the coil in the air handler) and the compressor (outside). They took their time and found the leak. The coil, though under warranty, had developed a leak. The replacement of the coil, refrigerant and service cost would cost $750. I called Bruno to cancel the service request, before they provided any service. Their operations manager called me back to say he would come come over right away to check for leaks with a portable meter. I advised him that it was too late - his first salesman / technician should have been equipped to do the same. Later that day, I was advised by email that they would credit all but a $75 service call charge. I disputed even that charge as there was no service - just an attempt to scam me. Eventually, my credit card company intervened with the appropriate credit. This is the first critical review I've written regarding any one or company. Bruno's reviews are less than stellar for a reason. Some comments I've read are that they've had growing pains. My assessment is that their model is bad. They send salesmen (maybe technicians or former technicians, but don't do much service) for the first customer contact. I assume they are commissioned to sell and up-sell products and services. If successful, then other technicians come and do the work. From what I can tell, they have experienced significant turnover. My experience and the reviews that I have recently read, indicates poor leadership and a poor business model. To be sure, Bruno isn't alone among less than scrupulous HVAC companies in Southwest Florida. Do your homework. read more

Please note, Bruno's company name has changed, but my experience is with BOTH Bruno Air and Bruno Total Home over the course of about 3 years. Bruno staff was generally polite on the phone and in person, but from their first visit, all they wanted to do was sell us stuff - A/C equipment and services the average person would never see or understand. New to the area (and year-round A/C), we trusted them, and eventually, purchased a new system at their urging - expensive, but according to our Bruno tech (salesman/con artist/commission-hungry and/or poorly trained employee), it was top of the line. It took 3 days to install instead of 1, but no problem. It took me calling Bruno and the county, then the county calling Bruno, more than a year to get an inspector out, and then the inspector had to have Bruno make adjustments, but no problem. Until each maintenance visit thereafter, the Bruno rep said we needed again some new part or service. There was only 1 visit in which Bruno did not insist we needed something - and 6 months later we supposedly needed all new ductwork. Although the company said they wanted to work with us and make it right, their "at cost" proposal for new ductwork was yet another scam. We finally got several other opinions, and here's what we learned: * We were sold an A/C too big for our home size and existing ductwork (and even for the physical space the unit sits in outside) - they should have either sold us a different A/C unit or at least offered an option for a ductwork upgrade at the time, but they didn't. * We overpaid for our specific A/C unit by an estimated $4,000. * We were in fact sold goods and services that we didn't need and/or were never actually provided. * While every company we had in agreed that our static pressure was too high, we didn't actually need new ductwork at all. There was no mold, no water, no dampness. We really only needed a relatively inexpensive and quick fix. * To add insult to injury, even the slightly less shady companies who DID recommend new ductwork (that we didn't need) came in with estimates far lower than Bruno's "at cost" options. I tried to work it out with Bruno, asking for only a small refund, but they stopped returning my calls and emails. My loss is your gain - don't let Bruno into your home. read more

Bruno Total Home Has ruined my parents life. This company came into their home and pressured my mother,who is 92,into signing a tablet for a maintenance contract. Within 2 hours a crew showed up with a new air conditioning system and for some reason a hot water heater.They knocked on the door and the outside condensing unit was already ripped out and in their front yard!!!!!! They had no permission to do that!! Threatened they would put it back,but couldnt hook it back up because it "wasnt permitted by the city". My parents at this point had no ac and a 89 degree house.Fast forward 2 months.My parents get a bill for $34,000!!!!!!!!! My poor mother was never givin this price but rather a "deal" for $7900. They illegally lifted her signature off their pad and applied for a loan through the PACE program. My parents are on a fixed income and cant sell their home now,because Louis has a lean on it.He will only text and told me that im not the client,that he doesnt have to speak to me.My parents are now stuck in Cape Coral unable to sell their home and move back North with us.Please stay away from this CROOK!! During installation of our new air conditioner we were told that we had "significant organic growth" (a.k.a. mold) in our ductwork. Since Bruno was already there installing our new A/C unit they would be able to offer us a 15% discount and they already had the parts on their truck. How convenient. We were told the remediation of our "mold" would be $2700 at their discounted price. We opted for a second opinion and no mold was found in our ductwork. The company who gave us a second opinion said that even if mold was found in our ductwork they would have only charged $1100 to remediate. read more

I was just saved by Bruno Air Conditioning and there fabulous service. Yesterday me unit stopped working and I have to have air for my elderly mother, I called Bruno Air after hearing good things about them from friends and they were at my home within 90 minutes. Darwin found I had a bad capacitor and replaced it, he credited my $75.00 service charge to my bill and and the unit was running like a charm. I can not even began to say how grateful I was to them for the great service. I even posted on Facebook to let all my friends know!!!!! read more

I have been a customer of Bruno air conditioning for years now. Last year the installed a new AC system and it's been nothing but problem after problem. It takes multiple visits to fix things and still not right. No one in any management position ever calls back. I'm not one to throw my hands up and quit but I've had enough with this company. I'm not hanging around with them even though I have a few more years on my service contract. They stuck dont even go with their bargain service. read more

The lesson I've learned is to leave at work to the account man and leave plumbing to the plumber. I think the mixture of the two makes for a bad mix. The combination of the two is only money oriented. I used a Family owned and operated company for my plumbing called Monahans Plumbing and a small ac company For my a c and I never have these problems. The equipment they installed was great. My house is ice cold now. It's scary cold. The service though was a different story. The installers showed up without all the proper tools, the helper disappeared 3/4 of the way through the day, the main used terrible language throughout both days and the yelled (on the phone) loud enough for my neighbors to come out and see if everything was ok. I called Bruno Air in a PANIC because my unit was overflowing and my husband was out of town. I didnt know what to do! Thankfully Bruno Air sent a tech within 30 minutes that was in my area and stopped the leak! Terrible, terrible terrible. One of our techs stood in our driveway yelling curse words at someone on his cell phone. Just like the other reviews, we called them out for a simple fix and they tried to upsell us to the tune of over $3000. Not a chance would I use this company. read more
