Outstanding Emergency Service and Quick Response!…read more We had an unexpected HVAC emergency on a Sunday morning and needed help before the problem caused further damage. Our neighbor alerted us that our outdoor HVAC unit was making a loud noise while the fan was running. When we investigated, it appeared that a snake had become caught in the unit (see photos). We first contacted the HVAC company where we have a maintenance plan, but they couldn't send a technician until Monday afternoon. Since we were concerned about the potential for further damage, we wanted the problem addressed as soon as possible. Based on recommendations from friends and neighbors, we called Family Air Conditioning & Heating around 9:30 a.m. Someone answered promptly and was able to dispatch a technician that same morning. We were given an arrival window of 9:30-11:30 a.m. and received a text confirmation along with a photo and background information about our technician, Ricky. Even better, Ricky arrived within 30 minutes of our call! Ricky was knowledgeable, thorough, and professional. He explained what he was doing throughout the process. After removing the snake's head from the top of the HVAC unit, he thoroughly cleaned the fan blades and vacuumed the bottom of the unit, where the remaining parts of the snake's body were located. He also checked for potential electrical damage. We were extremely pleased with Family Air Conditioning & Heating's responsiveness, especially on a Sunday, and the quality of the technical service we received on such short notice. When you're dealing with an unexpected problem and are concerned about possible damage to an expensive piece of equipment, having someone respond quickly and take the time to do the job thoroughly makes all the difference. We highly recommend Family Air Conditioning & Heating, and we especially appreciate Ricky for his excellent service. We would absolutely call them again!

Certified Heating and Cooling,Inc. $$$…read moreSERVICE REQUESTED: I have an annual agreement with this office, and it has been a great value. A few weeks ago my upstairs A/C was being examined at the start of its semi-annual checkup. The associate notified me that the air handler in the attic was dropping its insulation from within, and this would create a problem with continuing the standard semi-annual checkup. This necessitated scheduling an associate on a different day to basically rebuild the air handler. Understandably this was a long project through the day but was completed to our satisfaction. QUALITY: The different associates whom we have seen over a long period of time have been exceptionally professional and courteous. VALUE: Everyone decides what they describe as value. For us it's the confidence that our A/C units will work through the summer and winter year after year. Having a service agreement gives us that peace of mind. SUMMARY: These people have demonstrated exceptional courtesy (every phone call is a new pleasant greeting, every time). One has to have trust in the service people with whom they do business. For me, these people are very highly recommended.

Different tech came out who seemed a more experienced one. Said it was the thermostat. That it was caused by a surge and FPL under our contract with them would reimburse us for it. Said Caloosa would help get the paperwork in. He charged us over $400 for a thermostat that was worth maybe 160. Spoke with FPL who needed a form filled out. Caloosa refused to fill it out. Multiple back and forth calls to them and the manager. So not only were we overcharged but we are out the whole amount because they lied, overcharged, refused to help and FPL time line is now past due. What a piece of work they are. DO NOT USE THEM unless you like liars, being overcharged and totally unhelpful.

I received an email with the date/time/ free estimate written in email. I called to reschedule the date and I was told there was no appt scheduled and they do not give free estimates. I was told its a $200 fee to come out for an estimate and this will not apply to any work done by them. The worst part is I forwarded their e-mail back to them because I felt I needed to prove they scheduled an appt with me and it quoted "free estimate" on their email. The reply I got back, "This email came from our call center and we do not give free estimates." Wow! Not even an apology for their own call center giving incorrect information. I at least expected a manager to call me to discuss this. The cost they charge is actually excessive when I checked comps and most companies at least apply it to the final bill. If thinking of using RDS the customer service is definitely lacking professionalism.
