VENOVA was extremely responsive and said they were willing to do this, when a lot of other companies said they had minimums in the several thousand of dollars and wouldn't come out for smaller jobs. He and Pablo came by the next week and put plinth blocks on all my door frames that had gaps in them, as well as completing a few other small items. They were on time, courteous, and cleaned up before they left. I am very happy with the quality of their work and will likely use them in the future for larger renovations.

We hired Adval construction to repaint our kitchen, bathroom, and hallway linen cabinets. Our old…read morecabinets were dark and gloomy, and we wanted a refreshed look. While we are overall happy with the final product, there were some pros and cons along the way Pros: - Hiring Adval was a pretty seamless process. We requested a quote and within a week, Camila the consultant/designer came for an inspection of our area, measurement, and go over samples for a free quote - Since my husband and I didn't want to be around paint fumes, it took us a few months to schedule the project in tandem with a trip out of town. Adval respected that and didn't push; they simply had us let Debbie know when we were ready - While we were out of town, the painters Ana and Jeff were very respectful of our place. We had cameras setup for security, and they always cleaned up after themselves, turned off our lights, and ensured our doors were locked each day they were on site. They even helped bring in our trash bins after trash day! Cons: - Adval wasn't the most affordable in comparison to other quotes we received. However, we chose them anyway because their process and communication seemed the most thorough (in the beginning) - Since we had the work done while we were out of town, scheduling with the GC Pedro for repairs and touchups was a bit of a struggle as they were already busy with other projects - It was not made clear how EASILY new paint on the cabinets could get scratched and damaged. We had pre-existing rollout drawers in our bottom cabinets and they scratched the doors so quickly. In addition, some areas (drawer/cabinet edges and corners) have already chipped. We wish Camila elucidated this information to us when we were debating painting vs refacing and that Ana/Jeff/Pedro gave us care instructions for the new paint when they initially finished the project - There were a few doors that were clearly damaged prior to painting (corners were broken off/chipped but then the door was still painted over); Pedro ended up picking up these doors and they repaired them at their warhouse - It took about 2 months from the time we returned from our trip/initial paint completion to the final completion of the project (between scheduling, Pedro taking the damaged doors back to the warehouse to have repainted/repaired, and Ana/Jeff returning for reinstallation and final touch ups; the final reinstall was rescheduled on their end 3 times which was slightly annoying) - We changed our mind after initial completion from financing to paying the remaining balance in full. However, something must not have been communicated because the Synchrony account was activated and we didn't know until they charged us a late fee due to missing the first payment. We were able to get the late fee waived and ended up just paying off the balance through Synchrony. Again, annoying. Overall, even with the roller coaster of our simple project, the entire team at Adval was always respectful. They were quick to respond to my texts/calls and showed professionalism in their work. I appreciated that they were responsive and accountable. We are just disappointed in how fragile the final product is and we weren't properly informed.

He remodeled our whole condo (kitchen cabinets, bathroom, floors, counter tops, plumbing in the kitchen, electrical lighting). INTEGRITY / REASONABLY PRICED: Robert is a man of integrity! He delivered quality work with or without me onsite. Someone you can fully trust - not just his quality work but also with pricing. QUALITY WORK / DETAIL ORIENTED / THOROUGH: This is the first time I have worked with a general contractor that has very high standards. He is perfectionist and he will not take short cuts with his work. He is a breath of fresh air to work with, he is thorough and makes sure we are aligned. He discusses details and clarifies things that are unclear so that there is no miscommunication. He takes the initiative to correct things when he sees things will not work. Example: He fixed the pipe/plumbing in the kitchen to be able to install the garbage disposal and dishwasher, when that was not originally planned. RESPONSIVE / PATIENT: Robert responds in a timely fashion via text or email. I can sense he is old school because he has manners and very cordial. There is always add-ons in projects and he is the most patient, great listener contractor I have ever worked with and I've remodeled rental homes 4x. PROFESSIONAL / ACCOMMODATING: He never complains, he is accountable and takes pride in his work. He is flexible and tries to accommodate despite his very busy schedule. He actually was fully booked but he tried to accommodate our project. HONEST: He will tell you what he cannot do and can do. Example: Disposal of the dishwasher, he told me that since we bought the new dishwasher from Lowes that they will dispose at a cheaper price. He will deliver what he promised - ALL of IT! He cleans up after his work. WE ARE BLESSED: Overall, Robert did an excellent job. I had 25 applicants that wanted to rent the condo (in the fall season) all because Robert delivered quality work. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND: If you are looking for a general contractor, I highly recommend Bastiao Construction! They work above and beyond, delivers quality work, fair pricing, trustworthy, responsive, reliable, flexible, cordial, pleasant to work with and easy to talk to, no surprises. To sum it all up - THE PERFECT CONTRACTOR! Thank you Robert for all that you do! It has been a great pleasure working with you from beginning to the end and I mean that sincerely. We feel blessed to have known Robert. If I can give you 10 stars I would - until next time!

Each of the experiences have been positive and I have been happy with the results. The largest project on my residence was a bathroom remodel, I am very happy with the final product, his crew did a great job. When working on my rental property there was extensive work to be done, plumbing, window replacement, mold remediation and kitchen and bath repairs and remodeling. Whenever the unknown was brought to my attention Kerry explained the problem, gave me two options of how to correct the issue, both being appropriate to the problem but the cost was different. My response was usually 'if this was your house what would you do?' Sometimes Kerry chose the lesser expensive and other times the higher. I believe that he was fair and honest in his pricing and approach to each job. I would definitely hire Scott Construction again.

I contacted Natan from Northwest Builders and Renovations in Walnut Creek to get a bid on a kitchen…read moreremodel project. I chose his company over the other one that bid the project because Natan gave me confidence that they knew what they were doing, especially for the part of the project that involved a load bearing wall. He is a hell of a salesman. He agreed that they could provide everything the other company had bid but this was not the case. When we met for the bid, Natan assured me that my kitchen remodel project would take two weeks and that the cost was firm. He told me I could have any cabinet finish and quartz I wanted. I even showed him a sample of what I wanted the cabinets to look like and he agreed. Once it was time to order the cabinets it turned out I only actually had a choice of 7 cabinet finishes and none of them were like what I had showed him. For context, both the other contractor I talked to and Home Depot had samples of the finish I wanted so it wasn't like I had chosen something outlandish. Timeline: They demolished my kitchen on May 11th and work was finally completed 6 weeks later. I would not have proceeded if I had known it would take that long. My kitchen, laundry, living room and garage were unusable the entire time. There were also boxes and other debris all over my deck as well as my dishwasher sitting out on the deck uncovered. I got up in the middle of the night when it rained to cover it. There were many days when no one showed up and one time when no one showed up for 9 days straight. I begged him to keep the project going but he told me they couldn't because the countertop was taking so long to cut. That turned out not to be true. At the end of the 9 days the quartz cutter came to measure the counters and told me they had only just received the quartz and would not start cutting it for 2 days. Besides, there was plenty of other work like putting on the cabinet doors and finishing the laundry area that they could have been doing while waiting for the countertops. That is when I stopped trusting what I was being told. Cost: I agreed to pay an additional $2000 for an additional slab of quartz because I didn't like the plain grey countertops they wanted to use. It ended up to be more than was needed for my project so Natan suggested that I pay an additional $2000 to install the quartz all of the way up to the bottom of the cabinets instead of a 4" backsplash. I declined. He did it anyway and did not charge me. I had to pay an additional $4200 to replace the kitchen floor. When he quoted the project we agreed it did not need to be replaced because I had just replaced it 3 years earlier. It got hacked up when the bottom cabinets were installed and a patch job would have looked awful so it needed to be replaced. Communication: Communication was really poor. I had no idea what was going on or when anyone was actually going to show up to work on the project. No one told me they were proceeding with the white cabinets and grey countertops until I asked when I could pick the cabinet finish and quartz. They encountered a problem when opening up a wall but didn't discuss it with me until I asked 5 weeks later and it turned out that they couldn't do what we had agreed. Project Management: Natan said that either he or his project manager would be onsite every day to supervise the work and ensure it was done correctly. Neither one of them was ever there when the workers were so I basically had to make sure things were getting done. Natan kept asking what was left to be done. Had they come, I believe many of the issues could have been avoided. His crew clearly needed guidance. Natan had promised that his team would be on site to receive delivery of the cabinets on 5/14/2026. They were not. I was unable to be there so had to have a neighbor come and receive the delivery. Good thing I have Google Translate because that's what I needed to talk to his workers. Quality: The main issue was everything being installed backwards. My washer dryer hookups were installed backwards. The HVAC control was installed backwards and I had to pay an HVAC tech to come fix it. My dishwasher was hooked up backwards and spewed into my sink when it emptied but Natan refused to have someone come fix it so I had to pay a plumber to come fix it. Garbage disposal was also incorrectly installed. The kitchen was painted a different color and you can see the old color half way down beside the refrigerator and beside the dishwasher. The baseboards were just hacked off at the end rather than being joined at an angle and exposed the raw wood and some are flat and others molded so look like scraps were used. There's more but you get the idea. In the end, my kitchen is beautiful and if they worked the way they did the final week when they wanted me to sign off on the project and pay them it actually could have been done in the 2 weeks that he promised.

Their threats made me worry about possible interference with the equipment, although I cannot confirm that occurred.
