    Linguine Primavera, Fried Calamari

I have always loved this place since I was kid. It's always been family friendly. Food has and is still good. I always love to start with the calamari , following with a Linguine Primavera and ending with an apple pie,ice cream dessert. Any time I am in the neighborhood I go and eat at Brunas.

Authentic Italian restaurant with delicious food! Family owned with the nicest cute little old Italian man. Complimentary warm, freshly baked bread with olive oil. You can ask for balsamic vinegar as well and they'll bring out the good Italian one! All the pasta dishes were great and made fresh. I especially loved Luciano 's Fusilli. The escargot appetizer had great flavors and soaking it up with the bread was so good, too. Someone was celebrating a birthday and they dimmed all the lights and we all sang happy birthday!

Good food. Low key local restaurant that has historical flavor. Good "hole in wall" Italian restaurant. That's a compliment

The restaurant is not busy at all. We were seated right away. Our server was nice and attentive. We ordered pizza and pasta. Pepperoni and Whipped Ricotta Pizza - cooked perfectly, fresh ingredients and delicious! Served hot! Short Rib Pappardelle - to die for! This is very tasty, the pasta is cooked al dente. The short rib sauce is ssosooo delicious! We sat by the bar overlooking the open kitchen. It was nice to see the chef make the pizza and make the pasta. Further area is more fine dining with wall of wine. Very classy! Street parking only. So plan ahead.

Normally I hate those kinds of large group dinners, but this was the perfect spot for it. The service was absolutely wonderful. I don't know how our server stayed so cool and calm with a group that size. We got a variety of things. EVERYTHING was amazing. If you have seen any of my other reviews, I always get a meatball when I'm at a place that has them. They almost never live up to my expectation. But this place has the new gold standard for a meatball. It was everything you want. It is fork tender, full of flavor, no chewy ground up bits. The pizzas were authentic and thin. With fabulous house made red sauce that wasn't too thick and overwhelming. The flavor was A+ The cocktails were so good! All made from scratch with love. The ambiance was cozy and comfortable. Perfect for a group or a date. They have a full bar, and also great seating with perfect lighting. This is a new favorite for me in the city.

Boneless Chicken Vesavio, 4/5: My only complaint it the butt ends of the chicken was dry and tough. Otherwise, the sauce is very good, it's savory almost like porridge. The peas surprisingly added nice flavor to it. Wish all the potatoes were crispy tho! Burrata Lasagna, 3.9/5: Good but wouldn't get it again. TBD tastes similar to frozen lasagna. The sauce was nice thick and it had structural integrity to it. Birthday Gelato, 10/10 : Genuinely one of the best things I ate in Chicago. I wish I knew what flavors we got, it was 3 diff kinda. I'm pretty sure it was cherry chocolate for one, and the chocolate pieces were so perfect. We don't even like cherry and my sister doesn't even like chocolate but it ate it clean. Service is amazing and the ambience is really nice. It's very busy in there but the tables are far apart enough to have intimate convo. It is somewhat loud tho.

Every shared food item we purchased from the happy hour menu was savory and memorable. We had the mushroom arancini, rib sliders, prime beef meatballs and whipped ricotta. The happy hour pricing is attractive. Service was top-tier, and the inside is quite inviting. Everyone seemed happy to be there and took care with every step of the ordering and serving process. The bar was full when we arrived, but the host told us that spots at the bar open up rather quickly. This proved to be true, so I am so glad we waited for a few minutes. However, I wouldn't recommend this happy hour for a group of more than 2 because offerings are available at the bar only, and I suspect it would be hard to get four seats together.
